...why would you want to have them participate in a really high-profile public bash?

Particularly one to celebrate an institution you have walked away from.

Genuinely puzzled.

Why are you saying 'she's blogging about Kate'.

You know that implies like her blog is inccessantly about her. Instead of just ONE mention.

dontsay you are sounding totally and utterly obsessed in your dislike of Meghan and Harry. It's getting a bit odd.

You're now going back to his A levels. Jeez.

I left school at 15 with barely an exam to my name. What does that make me?! (I've caught up since lol)
Criticising someone for exam results is pretty nasty.

What else have you missed? I'm sure there's some vitriol you can dig up if you try hard enough

rubicscubicle · 16/01/2022 20:58

I asked you for links.

You are talking around 10 trips in over 2yrs.

And no, she was not married to Harry when she was 30.

Tezza1 · 16/01/2022 21:24

@rubicscubicle "I asked you for links."

Is that addressed to me? If so, some indication would be nice, even courteous.

rubicscubicle · 16/01/2022 21:27

Sorry, my asking was in response, so I assumed you could tell.

I was not just asking you actually, I was asking everyone who seems to think MM has had lots of personal travel.

But yes, please, can you please give us links to these trips, @Tezza1

As said before, even under previous usernames, it’s important to make a distinction between the institution of monarchy and individuals who are part of it. Andrew and Harry are still considered “princes of the realm” and although they cannot use HRH in an officially capacity, they’re still members of the royal family. Whether the monarchy survives or not, most of the high ranking royals would still need some form of protection. I’m sure they’ll fade into obscurity and enjoy country piles, in the mean time, some members more so than others will require armed protection officers.

Chilledchablis1 · 16/01/2022 21:40

That was for @ rubicscubicle
There are lots of other reports if you want to Google

Chilledchablis1 · 16/01/2022 21:42

Oh and MM was a working member of the RF for only 20 months .

lightand · 16/01/2022 21:51

Harry can’t win either way. If he stays away from all family events, he’s maligned in the press alongside Meghan for casting aside all familial relationships, and if he wants to be participate in such events, and he believes he needs a high level of protection, then that should be provided whenever he is in UK. He can’t do right or wrong, either way he’d still get criticized.

They stepped back from being royal.
They can visit privately, but dont seem to be rushing to do that.

rubicscubicle · 16/01/2022 21:54

The article itself admits that some of the trips they are referring to are from before she was married. It even includes the Botswana trip and the Jamaica wedding which were both before marriage.

There is not much detail on the trips themselves overall.

The article quotes the Sun, who also state that she went with Archie to the US tennis with MM, despite her being papped alone taking a commercial flight.

It also confirms that her passport would have been taken ('for security' it says).

MintJulia · 16/01/2022 21:57

If he's visiting any of his immediate family, they all have detachments of police protection officers, as well as protection in all the royal residences, regardless of who is in residence. Harry can rest easy whenever he is with his family.

That leaves only his movement through Heathrow, and then the car journey to Windsor/Highgrove. Rather than making an unwarranted fuss through the courts, demanding yet more attention, Harry would be better to quietly negotiate individual arrangements at the time.

Americans may be keen on running to the courts every five minutes but I can't see it winning him any friends in the Home Office.

I think you’re quoting me so I’m assuming you’re addressing me. Yes, they can visit privately, but will that still eliminate the safety risk?
dontsaythj · 16/01/2022 22:07

@rubicscubicle

She claimed to be unable to travel. Even one trip would be sufficient to prove that this was false. There were several.

"You couldn't just go," Meghan explained. You couldn't. I mean, you have to understand, as well, when I joined that family, that was the last time, until we came here, that I saw my passport, my driver's licence, my keys."

rubicscubicle · 16/01/2022 22:13

One trip does not mean just going.

Refusing her means she can't just go. Withholding her passport, means she can't just go.

There is no proof that she had her passport in her possession. In all likelihood, as the articles state, she cold have had her passport handled by other people.

Cameleongirl · 16/01/2022 22:21

Haven’t RTFT, just the first couple of pages. But I don’t fully understand why they would need police protection, as opposed to private security guards, if they wanted to visit the Queen quietly and privately, for example. She must have plenty of protection that would cover them all? They would literally need protection in the car from the airport to whichever royal residence. Same with Charles and William.

Surely they’re not planning to come to the Jubilee celebrations? It'll be a public, not a private family event, and I thought they’d opted out of all that royal pageantry.

Cameleongirl · 16/01/2022 22:22

Sorry, @MintJulia, just realized I’ve repeated what you’ve said!

dontsaythj · 16/01/2022 22:28

@rubicscubicle

She would have required her passport for travel. She doesn't appear under duress in any airport photos as presumably she would have been were her passport being confiscated as a means of control.

In the grand scheme of things, the Sussexes aren't particularly relevant or important. If it weren't for the attacks and criticisms of the RF, the explosive airing of dirty laundry, the legal action demanding the right to hire UK police, they'd be fading from public consciousness almost entirely.

What we do know is that during the time she claimed not to have access to her passport, she travelled internationally.

Chilledchablis1 · 16/01/2022 22:31

@ dontsaythj
You have put it much better then me !

BringBackThinEyebrows · 16/01/2022 22:43

She had financial help when at uni, after he blew his money on a dodgy diamond business. He was broke by that point.

@rubicscubicle what's your source for the statement above? Are you saying Thomas Markle didn't contribute financially to uni costs?

@Snowdropsinourforest

And I would say with certainty, literally NO ONE feels like you do, and quite so fevered endlessly and tirelessly defending the indefensible. I hope it is worth it in some way for you roussette
Actually @Snowdropsinourforest your wrong there are a great many people who are in support of Harry and Megan. Your attitude is completely vile. Fortunately there are people who are willing to call you out in your bigotry!
TheHairyDinosaur · 16/01/2022 23:06

What is Harry now 6th in line to the throne?

Surely he sits in the same realm of protection as Beatrice and Engine?

This is going to sound harsh, but if he is shot dead, the crown won't be disabled will it.

The crown protects the crown, because it's a business not a family.

Sadly I think he has become a "disposable asset" to them. Not that I agree with this at all, in my opinion it's fair and right that him and his family should receive protection if the threat is heightened to them, provable through intelligence.

But sadly I think the way the crown sees him is "he was born the spare, there is no need for the spare now with Williams line of succession in place.

It's just a sad state of affairs all round isn't it.

Tezza1 · 16/01/2022 23:08

@rubicscubicle But yes, please, can you please give us links to these trips, Tezza1
Since you asked so nicely, your wish is my command:
pagesix.com/2021/03/11/meghan-markle-trips-passport-removed/

However, I see someone else has already obliged with a different link to the same subject.

You mentioned three trips for which your passport would be needed. I mentioned six individual trips. Additionally, I just realised that the trip to Canada for Christmas also falls within that time frame.

Plus, mea culpa. I didn't proof read properly. One sentence should have read ”Trip to Ibiza for her *38TH birthday" Although I do think the context was probably a bit of a giveaway.

Anyway that's at least 10 private trips between their marriage in May 2018 and their trip to Canada for Christmas 2019. How pleasant for her.

So even if her passport was held in safekeeping or for security, the ubiquitous men in grey don't seem to really have many problems handing it over to her.

By the way I'm still wondering what three years refers to.

There is not much detail on the trips themselves overall.
What details do you actually need to know about the trips? Did they have 3000 thread count sheets? Did they have a swanky Japanese toilet in their rooms? How many suitcases they took?

I'm sorry if I didn't proof read this properly and missed out a minor detail.

UserBot314159 · 16/01/2022 23:12

Think he's over estimating the amount of danger he's in. He's left the RF so if somebody is going to kidnap a member of the rf, don't think it'd be him or his DC, doesn't make sense.
