It is irrelevant to me if you believe me or not

😆

dafey · 16/01/2022 12:23

You accused me of lying. Does that not fit the definition of a challenge?

It's not a challenge because you can't proof you aren't a liar can you?

LondonWolf · 16/01/2022 12:23

@Roussette

It is irrelevant to me if you believe me or not

Good. Because I don't care either!

You asked me to go and research. I did.
I found nothing.
That's the end of the story really!

For you it's conveniently the end of the story for you. Your opinions are not facts and that's all any of us have on these threads.

@TizerorFizz

I don’t believe Tony Blair ever had Royal Protection Officers. Ex PMs do get some protection but again it’s up to the government what they get.
Tony doesn't have royal protection officers but has police protection.

I know this is 2015 but
www.theguardian.com/politics/2015/jun/12/tony-blair-police-protection-costs-taxpayers-millions-report-claims

Former prime ministers get £115k of security a year and it's supposed to be only for work as former leader reasons like public speaking.

Rosewaterblossom · 16/01/2022 12:25

In a way I do feel sorry for him. I mean he didn't ask to born into the Royal Family and was hardly in a position to say he didn't want to grow up with a title and be in that family. Now he's in a position where he can't live a life away from his family without there always being a risk for his safety purely because of what he was born in to.

I wonder how people would feel if he was kidnapped or murdered because of who he is being such a target for terrorists or the like.

Most people can go and live away from their family and have a nice life. Harry can do that yes, but will always have the threat of harm to himself and family because of what he was born in to, not something he chose.

Roussette · 16/01/2022 12:25

Oh dear.

I researched for 20 minutes. I found nothing. It's not an opinion. It's fact that there is nothing anywhere to back up you saying that Harry repeatedly goes on about security.
Now... you with your job may no different.

It is not in the public domain though.

Let's agree to differ shall we?

Oh and... by the way.... protectiveness is a word. I shall use it forthwith Grin

"dispute the truth or validity of"

Definition of challenge as a verb Smile

There is a considerable private security sector (staffed by ex elite forces) who provide protection for global oligarchs & their families etc. London is considerate one of the safest cities for the global elites to live in.

Exactly this. Harry & Family, along with PA, are now no longer working royals. They can pay private security firms to protect them. In Harry's case, he chose to not be a working royal. As non working royals, they are just celebs, so they can do what other celebs do and pay for private security.

SueSaid · 16/01/2022 12:25

@derxa

I can understand Harry's anxiety about security given what happened to his mother. I don't blame him for doing as much as he can to keep his family safe. It's no skin off my nose if he gets what he wants. However for me he gets more annoying as each month passes. And yes he did trash his family on TV. What that's got to do with Andrew I've no idea.
Indeed.

I just wish he'd do it all behind closed doors. Must he bring in the lawyers for everything, it's all so typically attention seeking. It's like he thinks he's in an episode of Suits or something.

Roussette · 16/01/2022 12:26

may KNOW different.
Not 'no'
Ooops, can't spell

LondonWolf · 16/01/2022 12:26

Phew! At least I have given something deemed worthy to this thread Smile I knew it was though

dafey · 16/01/2022 12:26

I'm sure some would blame him cause he was too public or Meghan's coat cost 2k.

'wonder how people would feel if he was kidnapped or murdered because of who he is being such a target for terrorists or the like.'

It would be awful and we'd never hear the end of it, evil Brits enabling it etc etc. That's why I do sadly think they need to make a special case for the errant Harry .

StoatMilk · 16/01/2022 12:30

@HeddaGarbled

Ah well, as his life in the US is so fab, and London ‘triggers’ him and isn’t diverse enough (?!?!), perhaps he’s better off staying away.
Let’s hope so
nottodaybatman · 16/01/2022 12:30

@JaniieJones

The mail published a story that was false and a statement was issued to clarify it

The judicial review is to clarify normal protocol after the issue leaving the official event of his mother's unveiling. The review is his only avenue to resolve this.

The RF chose not to protect him when he returned to the airport

The RF choose to continue to protect Andrew. They should extend the same treatment to Harry or stop for both and stop whining to the press that the sussexes don't visit

I'm going to do this!

See, look how well are interactions on the thread have ended. We've both learned something handy Wink

LondonWolf · 16/01/2022 12:32

Our - obviously.

Roussette · 16/01/2022 12:32

Janiie

I don't want him on the balcony. Or Meghan and children. There would be too much hate, DFail crap and nastiness about it. So I really really hope not.

Roussette · 16/01/2022 12:33

Absolutely London !

trouble is, I have the memory of a goldfish so have forgotten the word next day

BringBackThinEyebrows · 16/01/2022 12:33

But who suggested Harry's 'crimes' are worse than, "grooming, paedophilia and hanging with despots"?

Can you post the timestamp of the post that implied this because I couldn't find it?

MayThePawsBeWithYou · 16/01/2022 12:34

If he is only going to visit the UK occasionally for state visits like funerals or the Jubilee then there will be a massive police and security presence anyway, if he wants to hire extra private security or a bodyguard he can. Why are they saying the UK will always be his home, it isnt, he lives in the USA now unless he just wants to keep his options open..

Harry is more than just a "celeb" though unfortunately. He's the grandson of the Queen, son to the future King and son of Diana who died in a very tragic way.

I'm sure he wishes he was just a celeb tbh then he wouldn't be such a target.

nottodaybatman · 16/01/2022 12:37

@Roussette
Me neither

I don't want them to return.

I want the tabloids to stop the dog whistle racism articles around them. It's exhausting to have this bilge pumped out every day. Talk about Kate's music skills or photo shoot or whatever else is current with the rest.

The dog whistle articles are horrid and reflect so poorly on brand GB
