Some posters are very passionate about poor Megan but I never seen such passionate threads about Nazreen Radcliffe and her daughter.

wowsers that's a stretch, & what about those who aren't passionate about Meghan, do they need to be campaigning for Nazreen? 🙄

Samcro · 16/01/2022 09:28

wow what brilliant timing for this to come out. makes you wonder if someone wants people to forget about A !!
wish people would stop with poor queenie stuff. she has the power to stop her grandson being used in this way.

Chilledchablis1 · 16/01/2022 09:29

For those saying this story was leaked to shove A out of the headlines , he has been headline news for weeks and today I can see at least 7 A related stories on the MOS website ( the paper no one will admit to reading !) A also features in other papers so I am not convinced that article stands . I am more inclined to think this has been leaked by the Sussex camp to garner sympathy.

TizerorFizz · 16/01/2022 09:30

@UniversalAunt
Thank goodness. Common sense.

Andrew no longer gets Royal Protection. He’s no longer HRH. It’s now withdrawn. Harry is li longer entitled to have it and it’s not a service you can buy. However when he’s with Charles or the Queen he gets it - because they have it! It seems to be a traffic issue. Could probably be resolved by use of helicopters or travelling with Charles etc. Its really about flexing muscles.

notimagain · 16/01/2022 09:33

@UniversalAunt

Second the comment that your post was excellent.

FWIW as I understand it there are plenty of private companies based in the UK willing to provide security advice/details/personnel (not carrying guns) to those individuals and organisations who are willing to pay for it.

However I'm fairly sure they don't get access to the level of intel available to the police and others.

PandoraP · 16/01/2022 09:33

Can’t we just get rid of this awful family!

AllThePogs · 16/01/2022 09:33
@nottodaybatman but many of them do pay for security and only get it at taxpayers events if on royal family work , so he is being treated exactly the same as many in his family
Who needs it outside the events though? Many live on Royal Family Estates so automatically get it at their home. And only Andrew is as controversial a figure as Meghan and Harry.
There are not reams of articles written inciting hate against Anne for example.

dafey · 16/01/2022 09:33

@TizerorFizz

Andrew no longer gets Royal Protection

You've said this a few times, has it been confirmed then? I've read it's based on the threat level.

sashagabadon · 16/01/2022 09:34

U.K. intelligence is not fool proof anyway. A young Hindu man actually got into the grounds of Windsor a month ago with a crossbow! Intelligence didn’t stop that.
I think U.K. intelligence needs to concentrate on the Queen, and heirs and not Harry as he is no longer a contender for the throne.
And that includes Andrew too.

LittleBearPad · 16/01/2022 09:34
@LittleBearPad we don't know what the police think. We just know they will not share it with Harry's security team.

We also know that the RF for an official event will not get harry safely out of the country even if he pays

It probably suits the RF to not have an agreed protocol on security being paid for by those who step back. The reason Andrew has security at tax payer expense is because there are no actual rules. Security being taken from the sussexes because they stepped back was a choice.

It is a choice I agree with FYI
However the reason the RF and their back scratchers in the tabloids are pushing this incorrect narrative about harry is to distract from the choices the RF willing made to continue to spend taxpayer money to keep safe after 2019. They should all be paying for their security if that is the rule

Anyway this is a problem because the RF keep protecting the sex offender
We do know because he is not being given protection.

Royal protection is provided on a need basis, not a wants basis.

The police determine the need. If there were a credible threat against Princess Beatrice she would be given protection for the duration of the threat. The same applies to Harry.

There are no credible threats. There is no protection.

It was leaked to get Andrew off the Sunday papers. It worked for a few newspapers which have this story on the front page. And it was trending overnight on Twitter. It is part of an overall strategy/ And just because it did not totally work, does not mean it was attempted.
crowsfeet57 · 16/01/2022 09:36

Poor Prince Harry. All the headlines are being taken up by Boris and Prince Andrew at the moment. No way he'll stand for that!

He's really scraping the barrell this time, suing the government because they ARE paying for his protection.

Roussette · 16/01/2022 09:36

Tiger

Where are you hearing that from?
As of a day ago Andrew was still getting protection not paid for by him. Has something changed?
You can bet your bottom dollar, if A decided he needed a break at Sandringham or Balmoral he will have paid for PPOs with him travelling in one of his Range Rovers.

His lawyers must love him. So litigious.

You are inciting hate against Harry. This is fairly constant on social media nad it has real-life consequences.
Roussette · 16/01/2022 09:38

@crowsfeet57

FFS you can't even be bothered to read Harry's statement can you?

No. He is not suing the Government. Get your facts right before making a fool of yourself. I put the statement upthread if you want to read it.

Roussette · 16/01/2022 09:39

His lawyers must love him. So litigious.

Well... I'd do absolutely anything to protect my family, wouldn't you?

BadgerB · 16/01/2022 09:40

@StormzyinaTCup

Off topic but why do some people feel they need to name change so often?
To make it appear that lots of people agree with them?
AllThePogs · 16/01/2022 09:41

Until 2011 Prince Andrew’s daughters, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice, had received protection at a reported cost of £500,000 per year; since then they have provided their own, and both princesses and their husbands make their own incomes. A police task force, the Royal and VIP Executive Committee, handles a list of essential public figures and royals who have round-the-clock protection funded primarily by the state.

JFC, no wonder he feels under threat. So many illiterate fanatics hate him. I have no idea why people feel so strongly about a stranger.

sashagabadon · 16/01/2022 09:41

If story was leaked to knock Andrew off headlines it hasn’t worked from what I can see. Very little discussion on radio this am, it’s all partygate, Carrie hugging a friend, Novak in Australia and a big discussion on Andrew again.
I think the media interest in Harry is reducing a bit. I think this story would have led a year ago but now it’s just a passing mention.
Might blow up more on Monday but it’s not setting the world alight this morning anyway.

nottodaybatman · 16/01/2022 09:41

@AllThePogs

The racism on twitter is so endemic - Diane Abbott anyone

In anycase the racism on twitter towards meghan is such that on the news of lili's birth Julie Burchill and a lawyer using her own picture and name merrily traded racist taunts about the child's name for hours on twitter. And then Julie got a nice spread in the Mail to whine about the cancel culture because people found her comments offensive. That is just one example

There are single purpose hate accounts on twitter and YouTube that exist solely to make up outlandish claims about meghan and her children. Which is gross. But then you have Angela levin retweeting crazy stories and repeating on television

There are single purpose hate accounts against the Obamas, corbyn, Amber heard etc but Angela levin isn't writing about their crazy theories in the tabloids. And that is why there is still racism towards her and children years after they left the country.

I note that Angela levin was rewarded for her activities by being appointed Camilla's (dutchess of Cornwall) official biographer. Interesting optics for the RF.
If someone said the things she has about my DiL or GC I would have made a different choice. But I am sentimental and would find encouraging a faceless racism mob on twitter to go after my new born GC and post partum DiL awful but I am soppy like that

AllThePogs · 16/01/2022 09:42

@BadgerB I name change often because I post about personal things and I don't want to be recognised. I don't name change on a thread.

TizerorFizz · 16/01/2022 09:42

This is the current position regarding Royal Protection. As of a few days ago Andrew met the Queen, Charles and William. He’s no longer HRH. He’s not getting Royal Protection.
