Since this is being reported in thd DM and Daily Express perhaps it is on the cards. Seems quite soon to be moving though I don't blame them. Its quite a grotty and unappealing house and the gardens. All those bushes. Must cost a fortune to maintain. And not very child friendly either.

@rubicscubicle
'there was never any mention of Frogmore House.' As far as you (or I) know.

ajandjjmum · 08/01/2022 10:40

The Sunday Times reported that M & H wanted to move into an apartment at Windsor Castle, but HM didn't think it was appropriate for raising a family. As they were so keen on Windsor - as opposed to the massive apartment cleared for them at Kensington Palace - Frogmore became the option.

I also do not think Sandringham, Balmorail or any of the big houses would be offered to them. Those sound like they will belong to future kings as far as their significance goes.

Surely H&M would have been aware that Frogmore House is where the banquets etc. are held rather than a residence, I don't see how they could confuse it with FC.

I can't really believe the story as it was the fail, but the timeline makes sense that H&M may have wanted to be close to HMQ, maybe so they could bump into her (considering they were being blocked by her assistants after she agreed to see them). The move happened around the time it became clear that KP is leaking stories about them.

The apartment in KP is a weird one. It had older inhabitants who had lived there for years and raised their children in it. They would move out, which I think was rather awkward (they may not have viewed it like that since the children were old and flew nest years ago). Never the less, when it came time evaluate it's renovation, it was discovered that it a lot of asbestos which would take a long time to remove (and would clash with Archie's birth).

@rubicscubicle

Blind Gossip also said Archie is Andrew's biological baby.

It was repeated here on Mumsnet.

That was an April fool. I read blind gossip religiously and they usually come up with a cracker

@cherryonthecakes

Frogmore Cottage is the Sussexes official UK residence until 31 March 2022 (according to Google)
I wonder if Eugenie will get it.
cherryonthecakes · 08/01/2022 17:48

Apparently it has 5 bedrooms so by royal standards it may be too small if they have a second child. (I'm assuming that a nanny might have a room for overnights and that there may be a guest room or two.)

peeweemermaid · 10/01/2022 16:24

@rubicscubicle

Considering the judge did not charge her with 'perjury', as they did with Gelaine Maxwell for example. This is not an official judgement on her, so it is highly unlikely that such a thing would even be considered or judged up. Clearly the court realised it's irrelevance it does not even get a mention.

I presumed that the 90% was based on the case as a whole.

Also, MM lawyers have asked to see the profits from the coverage of this letter and case from MoS.

Currently it's all reported as a 'confidential' sum to be awarded to MM.

GM Thats an American case not a UK one

Do you really think the Queen's "assistants" could block members of her family when she had agreed to see them? And keep their jobs?

There was also a suggestion that Charles had offered them a house in rural Wales when the story was that they wanted to get away from royal duties and newspaper gossip and lead a private life... How very different from what they really wanted!

amusedtodeath1 · 13/01/2022 16:49

She won that case on a technicality. On principle it became clear that she wasn't being truthful. She was awarded £1 for the privacy aspect. The copyright issue is an "undisclosed" amount, which could be £1 or £100,000. No one knows because they haven't made it public.

It's also clear that the Judges weren't overly impressed with her "forgetting" that she took part in the book, thus had compromised her own privacy.

She LIED about cooperation with FF. Whatever the court has to say about it, it's manipulative, dishonest and she's been busted.

How anyone can believe a word she says on face value, without researching her every word is beyond me.

Bellevu · 14/01/2022 21:39

She wasn't awarded £1, she suggested the £1 amount with the rest of the sum to come from the amount they made from the stories.

Ericaequites · 18/01/2022 23:46

Harry and Meg(h)an’s house is in Montecito, which has recently enacted strict water limits. This would cut way back on their lawn and water features. Perhaps they are looking for a more outrageous house closer to schools?

rubicscubicle · 21/01/2022 10:31

A Montecito paper says the rumour is not true.

Birnam woods is the wood that “comes to Dunsinane Castle” in Macbeth 😱😂

rubicscubicle · 22/01/2022 10:26

I think they were just trying to clarify where the 'they are moving' rumour originated from.

Viviennemary · 22/01/2022 10:48

Maybe the woods will move to them smilesy. Grin

MuffinStrops · 11/02/2022 17:40

The woods will be very expensive but no doubt their many deals will pay for it all.

smilesy · 11/02/2022 19:07

This must be unpleasant for them 😱

queenofarles · 12/02/2022 09:09

The link mentions stench from cannabis farms too, how is that area expensive?

MonAlana · 12/02/2022 10:35

All are colonies. There’s no glamour in colonialism except for gain from the exploitation of people from those countries.

polavary · 12/02/2022 10:47

They’ll never be happy

Viviennemary · 12/02/2022 14:37

Some sources were saying theyn thought they were getting Frogmore house and not Frogmore cottage. A bit of a difference. Bit like the caravan in that Father Ted episode.

They’ll never be happy
No I don’t think they will be. Constantly looking for grievances and suing the papers. Most people would be ecstatic with their lives. Instead they bang on and on about how hard done by they are.
