The Star Claim Kate is Seething with Jealousy over Meghan

I totally missed this. The Star newspaper claimed that Kate is seething with jealousy that Meghan no longer has to abide by Royal protocols and can live her life as she wants.

My personal take is that this is probably over-egged, which trashy tabloids ten to do. But I can imagine her at times feeling a bit jealous of Meghan's freedoms. Surely that would just be natural as she has to follow yet another Royal protocol, and yet sees Meghan doing what she wants to do?

I think if Kate was jealous of anyone's life style it would be Pippa's. Mega mega rich DH with no need to appear on tacky chat shows. Go where you like do what you like.
I agree. I shouldn’t think Kate envies Meghan at all. Quite the reverse.

The article doesn't say that Kate wants Meghan's life. It says she is jealous of the freedom from royal protocols Meghan has.

@hotfroth why would they be seething over the article? Its in the Star, hardly a paper that the majority listen to. And even if there is an element of truth in the story, and we don't know if there is, it is obviously exaggerated. If it was in The Times the RF would take it seriously. I doubt very much that they paid any attention to this story, never mind be seething.

Don't think so, Kate is happy being in the establishment here, she's British and they were together for years, and even broke up at one point before marrying. She had been basically living with William to the point that Charles made an off the cuff remark after their engagement was announced of "about time, they have been practicing for long enough"

Having to go on tacky chat shows and appear in all the right places to make money is far harder than cutting ribbons and attending banquets

I think if she were jealous of anything, then it could be the opportunity to respond when claims like this are made by tabloids. It must be difficult when people talk about you and you must maintain dignified silence. She must have wanted to say something at least once or twice during her time as part of the RF. But jealous of MM, no I can't imagine why she would be.

Whenever I read the paper headlines on the BBC site I always look at the star headline for a good laugh because it’s such shite that I can’t believe anyone actually believes it’s real.

This is the paper which predicts a massive heatwave every summer and feet of snow every winter, and guess what, it never happens.

Can’t believe people actually read it let alone think it’s real.

I like her, she has class and is dignified. Much like all her family, remember when Pippa was mocked constantly they just never react do they.

Nah, I think Kate is very clearly flourishing the more she steps into the role and spotlight. She seems to be made for it and fair play to her. Nice to see someone who doesn't see totally destroyed by an RF role.

I don’t see/sense that she’s jealous of MM at all, quite the opposite. I think she’s flourished in the role her marriage to William has brought to her. Let’s face it, she wasn’t courting a hedonistic or alternative lifestyle pre-marriage was she?

I don’t detect any hints that she’s pining to break free from the constraints of the RF.

I suspect that Kate has greater freedom from the press than Meghan because she plays the game - she provides her copyright photos of the children, she appears and waves and is then largely ignored doing the school run / having private parties with her discreet and loyal friends. Because they’re outside the palace protection system and keeping themselves to themselves unless paid, the Sussex family have to deal with drones and paparazzi hounding them for photos. And Hollywood protocol is different but still there.

(Agree with whoever said that Pippa has the best deal)

The one thing we know about Catherine for certain is that she is very close to her family who will close ranks around her at the slightest problem. I don’t think that she would ever be envious of someone who very sadly does not have that . Her family is absolutely central to who she is , that’s why they have been front and centre , neither she nor William who is said to be very close to her parents, have compromised on that , she and her family come as a package.

A friend of mine is a household name. Of course they don't read every single article about them in every single newspaper, but it still rankles all that time that papers can get away with printing so much rubbish and lies - and that some members of the public believe what they read.

@hotfroth the way to deal with that is to sue. We know some celebrities cant really be talked about because they will sue at any inaccuracies or lies. The RF have masses of money, they could sue the star if they wanted to.

And lets be honest, the RF get very good press considering all the things they are accused of doing. From Andrew and Epstein or Charles cash for honours accusation. They have way more scandals than your ordinary respectable family.

I agree that at times she might envy pippa but i highly doubt that she jealous of meghan

Kate doesnt neeed attention, she deals with it well but doesnt need it
