Did anyone watch this last night? About William and Harry and their different approaches to the press. Last night was part 1 of 2.

Bringback lordy me... he was not exactly kind about Meghan, he ran down Harry continually, he gave endless interviews about how awful they both were.

I am continually amazed about how he is defended on MN. But know it's a way to get at Meghan so understand why.

rubicscubicle · 03/12/2021 20:48

Seriously thought @Serenster as a legal eagle I thought you would send me the link to the court transcripts - which I did see at the time.

Both your links are from the Daily Beast.

They say the lawyer was the one who said Harry's posts were rude and wanted to show the rest of the court in confidence. ANL lawyer said this, not the judge.

Sounds to me like the dramatics and twisting, and conjecture that his clients pull, to make a drama about how abusive the emails were.

The journos who were watching seem to have taken in any way. Like what derxa has linked from Sky, who by contrast seem to have seen a different angle as they seem to state that Thomas was the rude one.

Also, you did not link any of Thomas responses. Though I understand that he seems to have responded much later in the game, after ghosting his daughter and her finding out via press that he is in hospital. I am not seeing the detailed txts from him though.

"....... one cannot ever placate an abusive man......."

I hadn't realised that he had been abusive to Meghan prior to her meeting Harry. [/quote]
If he was abusive after, he was abusive before.

Abusive men aren't suddenly driven to it in a one off, it's who they are, always. That angry, controlling man you see, publicly humiliating his daughter to the entire world?

That is the man.

That is the man she quite rightly avoids.

rubicscubicle · 03/12/2021 20:51

@Roussette

Bring back As I said before.... you're just a wit! Point scored! Taken in the manner it's meant I think
What on earth was so 'boom' about that anyway.
rubicscubicle · 03/12/2021 20:52

That was to bringback

StartupRepair · 03/12/2021 20:57

Yes when she was an actor she had a carefully curated lifestyle blog, compete with tribute to her dad.

Roussette · 03/12/2021 21:00

When? What year?

BringBackThinEyebrows · 03/12/2021 21:00

I just found this reposted by a fan (originally posted on The Tig in June 2014)

@Serenster I too smiled at the ‘at best’

If you know, you know - as the kids say

Roussette · 03/12/2021 21:07

Seven years ago then

rubicscubicle · 03/12/2021 21:07

@StartupRepair

I don't always think the worst. Tig was Meghan's blog. She had lots of followers and used it to build her brand. She put a gushing tribute to her father on father's Day.
Thomas mind seems to have gone crazy when Harry came on the scene. He must have heard all the fame and money and just couldn't handle it.

As @julieca has quoted, Samantha seems to have put him into this. Before Harry, she was out of the scene, nothing to do with MM. She is with Harry and suddenly she crawls out of the woodworks and is all over everything to do with MM. 'Baby girl' or whatever Thomas calls her has her fingerprints all over this, but Thomas is an adult and should know better than to treat his daughter this way.

BringBackThinEyebrows · 03/12/2021 21:10

A article written by Meghan in 2015 which portrays a loving father.

A Downing Street spokesman has given a comment on the verdict. They seemed to disspprove and supported the freedom of the pressHmm. Pretty bad she wasn't admonished for lying in her statement. Disgraceful in fact. Id say this was far from over.

Nishkin · 03/12/2021 21:11

@BringBackThinEyebrows

I read that and the only thought in my head is ‘they have SPAM in the USA’

Am I the only person who didn’t know that- anyone on here who lives in the USA - you have SPAM?

And the most important question- do you have it served as a fritter?

BringBackThinEyebrows · 03/12/2021 21:13

We just got the 'Thomas Markle is an awesome father' proof down to 5 years Grin

How long ago did Meghan meet Harry?

SPAM ORIGINATES FROM MINNESOTA

Mind blown. I will have to lie down. I thought it was such a UK thing in the 70’s

Haha, that's hilarious! Remind me to ask BJ about his Christmas parties last year!

I love that it's your only take from the post haha. I've never tried SPAM, have you?

Roussette · 03/12/2021 21:15

BringBack So are you saying... let me get this right... that anything you say about a parent has to remain the same forever? Would you like to go on Stately Homes thread and state that?

Roussette · 03/12/2021 21:17

There are some desperate Meghan ummmm 'dislikers' on this thread. Desperation!

Nishkin · 03/12/2021 21:18

@BringBackThinEyebrows

Spam was such a huge part of my upbringing- spam and piccalilli sandwiches, spam fritters and chips (it was the 70’s)

As a survivor of physical abuse, emotional abuse, and neglect during most of my childhood (basically someone who could contribute a lot to the Stately Home threads), I'm not understanding your point.

I've posted evidence that, at least from Meghan's perspective, Thomas Markle was a loving, supportive father. Can you clarify?
