could not believe it when I saw the advert for it last night. so PW is presenting this thing. the same Prince who flies all over the world.
obviously won't be watching as him and DA lecturing people about climate change is so hypocritical.

@Roussette

This thread is making me laugh. They could be madly in love or hate each others guts, no idea. I imagine they get on ok because they're stuck with each other far more than any other couple, so I would like to think they both individually work hard at their marriage.

I laugh because my DH looks a miserable sod at times with his grumpy resting face, he's awkward and contrary and I bet observers would think we're on our way to the divorce courts.

I totally agree. Especially the account of your marriage. DH and I are exactly the same. Two miserable old buggers who have been happily married for 34 years. 🤣
Roussette · 06/10/2021 13:16

Absolutely *derxa" 😂

rubicscubicle · 06/10/2021 13:16

We have said a few things that make some of us doubt this great love and closeness other posters see.

Not being protective of his wife, leaving her behind constantly, affair rumours, crass jokes about her and generally not showing much affection tbh.

Maybe KM doesn't mind, maybe they are both just naturally cold people.

ps: that pic you showed looks miserable af, @Serenster

rubicscubicle · 06/10/2021 13:18

William does not in general have a bitchy resting face though, does he.

Serenster · 06/10/2021 13:21

The one where England were losing on penalties? Christ yes! It was miserable af at the time. Not an England supporter, I take it? Grin

julieca · 06/10/2021 13:23

@Serenster no the people around them were all standing physically closer.

rubicscubicle · 06/10/2021 13:24

England supporter for sure, not so much the bigoted 'fans' who blamed the black players for the loss though................

Hmm not sure rubics I think he has an irritated face
But what do I know

We'll never ever know what their personalities are like, what drives them mad, what moves them, what they find funny, what sort of films they like, what irritates them beyond belief, what the cry at, laugh at etc..
They're just there
Unknown personalities, like the Queen. So it's fair to say we draw sweeping conclusions from the pics fed to us

Serenster · 06/10/2021 13:29

That’s not the final, Julieca.

julieca · 06/10/2021 13:31

@Serenster I said I didn't know where the photos were taken. They were being shared though as an example of their relationship with George. But they look like divorced parents tolerating each other.

Serenster · 06/10/2021 13:38

And the man behind them is clearly about to punch David Beckham! Shock

Or maybe you can’t tell a whole lot from one scintilla of time captured in a photo…..

derxa · 06/10/2021 13:39

@julieca

Kate, William and George had a whole row to themselves. There was no need to squash up.
julieca · 06/10/2021 13:40

@Serenster except we are constantly fed photos to demonstrate what a good mother Kate is, what lovely people they are, etc. So do you accept those photos might be giving the wrong impression as well?

julieca · 06/10/2021 13:41

@derxa standing near your husband is hardly squashing up.

rubicscubicle · 06/10/2021 13:43

I don't think they will ever divorce. But I doubt it is a happy marriage. Although they have large enough palaces and enough money that they can largely live separate lives if they choose to do. It is what Charles and Camilla seem to do.

I think we will find that Charles has a more complicated love life than royalist would be comfortable to discuss.

I give up 🤣🤣🤣

julieca · 06/10/2021 13:46

@rubicscubicle yes I suspect so as well.

PicsInRed · 06/10/2021 13:51

The stand out moment for me was when reports emerged around the neighbour matter, Kate visibly and overtly jumped from Will's touch during a Christmas show appearance. That was a real moment we weren't meant to see.

"Now look happy and engaged"

"Now gaze at each other lovingly"

"Now enjoy an unscripted laugh together"

"Thank you sir, thank you ma'am, that's a wrap".

The reigning monarch has legal custody of her children and she's clearly decided to make it work. I think Kate's in an unenviable position, despite the surface privilege, and it won't be an easy life for her at all. I'm sure William has plenty of freedom, privilege and opportunity, but that doesn't ever seem to extend to royal wives who are very much more restricted.

rubicscubicle · 06/10/2021 13:51

But I do wish they would stop trying to re-write history though.

The Crown maybe fictional, but it's based on true events. Dramatisaton with actual conversation as with all docudramas, but it happened. That is why when the palace sent out the RRs to bark 'its not true', Netflix decided to remind everyone in Diana's own words. Which sounds worse tbh.

Camilla was there throughout C&D marriage. Wether she was there because she 'understood' and provided a nice cover as well being a true soulmate is another story. But she was there.

Serenster · 06/10/2021 13:52

I pay little attention to posed family photos, Julieca, because they obviously don’t capture spontaneous interactions. Not just from this couple, but any royals really. Charles and Diana had some beautifully posed Christmas cards when they were daggers drawn behind the scenes!

I do pay more attention to video footage, which is generally candid and spontaneous. Most of the photos you see from events are consistent with the live footage of them. Obviously you will see photos where they will look serious, stern or grumpy - everyone’s face can be captured in such moments, and photographers can catch hundreds of frames in a couple of seconds. But generally in my view the majority of still photos matches the impression I get from video footage - that they like each other.

rubicscubicle · 06/10/2021 13:57

@PicsInRed If you are talking about the Mary Berry moment, it was reported everywhere except the UK.
