Blurb from publisher.

In an intimate and heartfelt memoir from one of the most fascinating and influential global figures of our time, Prince Harry will share, for the very first time, the definitive account of the experiences, adventures, losses, and life lessons that have helped shape him.

Covering his lifetime in the public eye from childhood to the present day, including his dedication to service, the military duty that twice took him to the frontlines of Afghanistan, and the joy he has found in being a husband and father, Prince Harry will offer an honest and captivating personal portrait, on that shows readers that behind everything they think they know lies an inspiring, courageous and uplifting human story.'

The book is not about William, his angst and suffering, how hard things have been for him. He’s writing the foreword to a book about saving the planet. There’s a big difference.

LittleBearPad · 21/07/2021 20:29

@Roussette

Here we are. An unpublished book, due next Autumn with no idea what will be in it.
I’m fairly certain the royal family aren’t too worried about William’s book.

Harry’s on the other hand… you don’t get paid a £20 million advance for nice little anecdotes.

Ah well - I’ll read it for free in the Fail.

CeciledeVolanges · 21/07/2021 20:29

@Bovrilly has it occurred to you that you might be arguing with the metaphors? In the same way that saying someone is a grass in prison doesn't literally mean they are growing and photosynthesising in a feeling, but it's still interesting?

Roussette · 21/07/2021 20:30

A huge difference. But we don't know what Harry's book will cover, do we?
Or do we? Do you?

Viviennemary · 21/07/2021 20:30

Yes sorry I checked it out. Got carried away when I saw the headline. William announces book days after Harry. . And it was the Daily Express not the DM. Blush

Sorry, how well do books agoist and suffering self? And availble to the planets I study climate change law so I have a fair idea.
SueSaid · 21/07/2021 20:31

'Exactly, so much vitriol over something that has not even been seen !'

🥱

Because we know the guff it will contain. We've had previews with FF, OW and his many tedious podcasts. We know it's all everyone's else's fault and he will just wang on at length about that.

His poor family. He really is an entitled, hypocritical pita.

CeciledeVolanges · 21/07/2021 20:31

Worst every grammatical error in my typo, apologies all.

LittleBearPad · 21/07/2021 20:31

🦜 I’m disappointed by the lack of pigeon emojis but here’s one with a painted tail 🤣

CauliflowerCheese30 · 21/07/2021 20:31

He knew exactly what would happen as soon as it was said he was writing one, he knew full well people would be talking about his family again, and if they were going to be in it, keeps people talking about them doesn't it.

Roussette · 21/07/2021 20:33

Janiie You obviously have an advance copy or are proof reading it ready for publication?! Grin

LittleBearPad · 21/07/2021 20:34

I think we do tbh

“The duke, 36, said in a statement: "I'm writing this not as the prince I was born but as the man I have become."
He added: "I've worn many hats over the years, both literally and figuratively, and my hope is that in telling my story - the highs and lows, the mistakes, the lessons learned - I can help show that no matter where we come from, we have more in common than we think.
"I'm deeply grateful for the opportunity to share what I've learned over the course of my life so far and excited for people to read a first hand account of my life that's accurate and wholly truthful."

Sigh

Roussette · 21/07/2021 20:34

LittleBear that is deffo a cockatoo or a parrot Grin

CeciledeVolanges · 21/07/2021 20:34

Anyone criticising him for writing the book on the basis that he could be concentrating on stopping. World peace: you first. Stop talking about it. Go and make a difference to belligerence or GHG emissions. In the meantime, either admit you're interested and read the damned thing or shut ups

Mummy194 · 21/07/2021 20:35

@CauliflowerCheese30

Maybe posters can stop cherry picking who they pick up on "knowing" facts.

Does anyone use any of the emojjis on their phone? Obviously you have the normal ones, but there are so many that I just don't look at Grin

Bovrilly · 21/07/2021 20:37

NYP is the DM of New York. Who else has written this.

Here you go @Mummy194

^MEGHAN Markle and Prince Harry intend their interview with Oprah Winfrey to be their last word on the subject and are looking forward to moving on, it is claimed.

Sources told the Daily Telegraph that the Duke and Duchess had felt the need to explain why they chose to quit the Royal Family last year.
A friend said: “It was something they felt they wanted and needed to do but now they have done it, they feel a line has been drawn under that chapter of their lives and they want to move on... Prince Harry is said to be keen on reconciling with his brother, Prince William.^"

LittleBearPad · 21/07/2021 20:38

There are a surprising number!

Roussette · 21/07/2021 20:41

The Daily Telegraph write article after article running them down. It's the posh version of the DM in my opinion

Puzzledandpissedoff · 21/07/2021 20:41

He’s writing the foreword to a book about saving the planet

So I see, but it's just made me click on the dreaded Mail for the first time in ages ... so kill me now Grin

Mummy194 · 21/07/2021 20:42

Seriously? Sources told the Daily Telegraph...................

Torygraph reporter lied about MM making KM cry and now we are supposed to believe that she has been feeding them info? I can tell you, if that happened, Camilla T would make sure to let us know she is feeding them info, and most probably record it to prove and humiliate them.

tillytoodles1 · 21/07/2021 20:43

He was born into a life of wealth and privilege that we couldn't even imagine. He lost his mother when he was very young, but you know what, it happens every day to other kids and they have to get on with it. He's a spoiled, whining brat.

EdithWeston · 21/07/2021 20:44

@Viviennemary

Dailh Mail just reporting William is writing a book.
www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-9807589/Prince-William-write-foreword-new-book-Earthshot-prize.html

This is info on the Earthshot book, part of the wider project and something he's been involved with forba while. No suggestion he is being paid for any part of involvement, and the entire proceeds go to the project

It's a bit like Duchess of Cambridge writing the introduction to the Hold Still book, a project which she (as a patron of NPG) was involved with all along.

I don't think those sorts of forewords are remotely like what is planned by the Duke of Sussex, based on the press release

Roussette · 21/07/2021 20:44

He's a spoiled, whining brat

Nice. Hmm
