PAPO is definitely one of the moderate posters on these threads and I'd challenge you to find a single post of hers that frames opinion as fact.

Thank you, DeRigueur; I've no real wish to get involved in a spat with someone who posts things like this, but as you'll see I've also asked them to point out where I've presented outright lies as facts

The fact of the matter imho about what makes these threads interesting is the different perspectives people have on H&M's behaviour (and also the side topics that come up on issues like the constitution/succession/protocol).

If everyone agreed I think these threads would actually attract far fewer posts.

Andrew is often cited "why criticise H when A is so much worse" for example.

The truth is hardly anyone holds A in anything but utter distain so threads on him are just post after post of agreement and repetition.

Posters on H&M threads broadly fall into 3 camps - the minority 2 are posters who think they can either do no right or conversely no wrong.

Most people are actually more moderate and are critical (or baffled) by some decisions/choices but supportive of others but they tend to get somewhat drowned out by the arguments batted between the two former groups that practice a mean trade in whataboutary/deflection and stating opinions as fact.

That is a good point. I think yiu will find that most people who defend them are not fans, just people like me who hate bullying and don't believe everything they do is wrong.

I find it really quite bizarre how obsessively defensive they are over a complete stranger. A complete stranger who has had life of absolute privilege.
