Blurb from publisher.

In an intimate and heartfelt memoir from one of the most fascinating and influential global figures of our time, Prince Harry will share, for the very first time, the definitive account of the experiences, adventures, losses, and life lessons that have helped shape him.

Covering his lifetime in the public eye from childhood to the present day, including his dedication to service, the military duty that twice took him to the frontlines of Afghanistan, and the joy he has found in being a husband and father, Prince Harry will offer an honest and captivating personal portrait, on that shows readers that behind everything they think they know lies an inspiring, courageous and uplifting human story.'

I bet Andrew won't even figure in the court case. He'll be protected.

DeRigueurMortis · 21/07/2021 18:54

On the "thriving" interview with Tom Brady.

I listened to it again fairly recently.

I don't think she actually said anything "wrong" and neither did H.

The real issue - with both of them was the context of saying what they did outside an orphanage full of children coming from a position of real disadvantage and the fact it stole the attention from the cause they were there to support/promote.

Their privilege of course doesn't make them immune from experiencing challenges and testing circumstances or in some situation can be the cause of them.

However as they've demonstrated - their platform and privilege has enabled choices and a lifestyle most people could never aspire to.

And of course people will talk about them monetising their position when the means of doing so is to repeatedly attack the family/institution that provided the very platform and privilege enabling multiple deals worth tens of millions each.

@Mummy194

She was simply answering a question.

And MM was also answering a direct question.

The podcast I refer to was the one she did shortly after the SA trip, long before Covid. She was talking about how hard it was to parent (even though she has nannies etc). Yes some people grumbled, but that was that, no ongoing 50 threads on it.

Here’s the transcript. I don’t see anything about how hard she finds it to parent, but if there’s a particular comment you had in mind, please do let us know.

It wouldn't surprise me but if so it's an utter shit show.

Totally agree with this, even though I'll be another on the thread

As I've said before, there's no more chance of Andrew's affairs getting into court than there was of Burrell hitting the witness box

LondonJax · 21/07/2021 19:01

I thought one of the reasons they moved away was because they felt they would get more privacy in the USA?

So you want privacy but write a book when you're not exactly down to your last penny.

Oh well, plenty will buy it so it'll keep their bank managers happy.

Meanwhile, back in the real world...

Thanks I was trying to fact check that titbit from Mummy but you beat me to it Grin.

I'd love the opportunity to go and talk to them face to face and to ask them what the bloody hell is their problem.
Maybe we should send Laura Kuenssberg - she wouldn't show any mercy.

Roussette · 21/07/2021 19:05

I'm torn about it, depends if others are named, depends on plea deals, there has been further charges to Maxwell in recent weeks.
The lawyers have talked about her "extraordinary lack of memory". 23 flights on the lolita express with undersge girls, she can't remember one of them, despite flight logs proving her presence

Anyway, enough of that! Grin

PurpleOkapi · 21/07/2021 19:08

Well, there's this bit:

"I was at a prison recently and looking at the intergenerational cycle in that particular instance, you’re talking about addiction and things like that and how, as hard as they try and break inter-generational cycles, actually it’s so embedded in family tradition and behavioural patterns and relationships – it is very hard to try and…"

Note that she's talking about unnamed prisoners, not her own parents and grandparents. Interesting contrast to Harry's complaints about "genetic pain" in his own family.

Mummy194 · 21/07/2021 19:12

Oh please you are not proving anything, if it was MM talking about how she knows the challenges of parenting while she has an entourage of nannies, she would be slaughtered and you know it. Especially in the backdrop of a very deprived area of London. Just as she was for saying she thought the treatment would be fair.

Me too Wink

Unfortunately a lot of things - even outright allegations - get posted on here that are dubious at best and often provably wrong. Most of us tend to write "It's reported that ..." or "I believe that ...", but some choose to present their preferred narrative as fact regardless of its accuracy, presumably in the hope folk will take it as read and be convinced

A bit like H&M themselves really ...

Viviennemary · 21/07/2021 19:23

Because Andrew has kept such a low profile even although nobody has a good word to say about him there's nothing new to say. It's strange. When he gave that insane interview defending himself there was a huge furore and the Queen was forced to act. Only a little bit of rumour when he supposedly wanted to wear his military uniform to Prince Philips funeral. And I bet that Ghislaine Maxwell woman won't throw him under a bus. I expect the women who would speak against him will have their evidence declared inadmissable. Or something will happen to GM like it did to Epstein.

You are easily talking about yourself and other H&M haters on here.

Andrew is not being reported on. There is a difference. Did he not make a deal sometime not too long ago?

He was going around volunteering without PPE during lockdowns.

He is being protected and he is not being slated by the media.

Roussette · 21/07/2021 19:28

Vivienne, I don't think anything is going to happen to her in prison. She's checked every 15 minutes and gone to court complaining they shine a light in her eyes disturbing her sleep.
Who knows on the rest

Yes! Give them a "Dominic Cummings" style interview!
Roussette · 21/07/2021 19:30

Totally agree. He is being protected by the Palace. I get most of my info on what's going on from US press

I didn’t read the comments from Kate but someone said this was empathising with families by talking about her personal situation. Moreover that she was talking in an official capacity ie as part of her job as a working royal. The difference here would therefore be between discussing normal parenting issues and Kate talking about the unique challenges of homeschooling; homeschooling being outside the normal remit for parents - even royal ones with nannies.

As yet, we couldn’t really compare comments from Meghan as Archie simply isn’t old enough. Had Meghan stayed and continued to be a working royal (therefore a direct comparison), I would bloody hope the British public would take any such comments from her in the same way as Kate’s.

I’m lost what treatment did Meghan think would be fair?

Puzzledandpissedoff · 21/07/2021 19:31

Yet another inaccuracy I'm afraid, Mummy; I'd ask you to point to a single post where I've baselessly stated something as a fact, but I suspect you'll just avoid the question and post some irrelevant nonsense instead

By the way, are you still going round insisting Justice Warby's corrupt? Not seen that one for a while ...

Is she on suicide watch? Just asking as on the mental health ward I work on, that's how often the checks we have to do on high risk patients, and mark them down as awake or sleeping.
Roussette · 21/07/2021 19:36

Yes, she is Cauli but I presume it's because of what happened to Epstein.

I can talk more on it, but don't want to derail the thread.

CauliflowerCheese30 · 21/07/2021 19:37

Ahh ok, yes, won't derail anymore x

I never said any such thing. You brought up the word corruption. And now you are lying on here knowing that the post was deleted last year so I cannot prove I never used such a word.
