Blurb from publisher.

In an intimate and heartfelt memoir from one of the most fascinating and influential global figures of our time, Prince Harry will share, for the very first time, the definitive account of the experiences, adventures, losses, and life lessons that have helped shape him.

Covering his lifetime in the public eye from childhood to the present day, including his dedication to service, the military duty that twice took him to the frontlines of Afghanistan, and the joy he has found in being a husband and father, Prince Harry will offer an honest and captivating personal portrait, on that shows readers that behind everything they think they know lies an inspiring, courageous and uplifting human story.'

By the way, how many interviews, TV series etc is Harry up to now? I count three with Oprah, James
Corden, and The Me You Can't See. Am I missing any?

Yes, you forgot the "genetic pain" podcast with Dax Shepard.

queenofarles · 20/07/2021 14:16

Aren’t they cheapening their Image? Maybe they are caught in the moment , but it’s just too much, and it all boils down to one theme , woe is me.

Maggiesfarm · 20/07/2021 14:21

I shall be interested to read it and I'm no great fan of that sort of thing, especially if it is badly written. However I think it will be honest and give us insight in to various things. I'm sure he won't be rude about anyone.

He lives in America now, has an American wife, they do things differently there and we have to accept that he is no longer a working member of the royal family.

Who knows, the book may heal rifts, not that I have ever thought the rifts are as big as the media would have us believe. Hopefully it will be cathartic.

Good luck to him and his family.

Sweetpeasaremadeforbees · 20/07/2021 14:22

I think after the OW interview, the podcasts etc, we've all got the message that he hated being in the RF and doesn't particularly get on with his family so either he is planning on not talking about his family at all (just explaining his previous questionable behaviour) or if he is, it must be purely for the money/PR.

Either way I think reconciliation is looking less and less likely and PH doesn't seem to care about it anyway. I think bridges have been completely incinerated.

Presumably RF lawyers will check it for libellous stuff, I think it's one thing to make vague insinuations in interviews but another to commit them to print.

IMO he's mad doing this but I guess we've always known he doesn't always think through his actions.

CallmeHendricks · 20/07/2021 14:27

The book heal rifts???!!!!!
GrinGrinGrinGrin

Baberuthie · 20/07/2021 14:28

Like the OW interview healed rifts!?!??!???

CallmeHendricks · 20/07/2021 14:29

He doesn't think through his actions, no, and now he no longer has any brake on his impetuosity in the form of place officials.

Serenster · 20/07/2021 14:30

I suspect the publishers’ lawyers will check it carefully for libellous material (hopefully in each jurisdiction in which it is to be published) but it’s not normal for them to take the manuscript to other parties for their review - publishing is different to the press in that regard. I’m old enough to remember all the Spycatcher litigation - the Security Services were unimpressed that a book published abroad might breach the Official Secrets Act and they had not been consulted on its contents (the Act also being something, by the way, as an ex-soldier and senior royal, Harry ought also to bear in mind).

Sweetpeasaremadeforbees · 20/07/2021 14:30

Yes, has writing a book for the entire world to read EVER solved problems in a family?!

StormzyinaTCup · 20/07/2021 14:30

Did Harry blackmail his father/brother by saying I will go to the Press with stories every single month, unless you make contact with me (or whatever)
No

Did Harry sell private letters written by Father or brother to him the Press for mega bucks?
No.

They have (via friends) claimed to have private email correspondence which they could release if needed.

They have (via GK) released the outcome of a private conversation between PW and PH.

They are providing Scobie with extra chapters to put in his book for re-release in Aug.

They have thrown his family under a bus in a high profile interview and made sure we were all made aware that there was another 1hr 30m that wasn’t used that could be.

They have cut off MM’s dad for doing exactly what they themselves are threatening the RF with.

And now we have Harry’s memoirs.

All this from a couple who were ‘hoping 2021 would be a time for healing both in the family and around the world ….’

Baberuthie · 20/07/2021 14:33

Harry must hate the RF now... it's all becoming v nasty. Hasn't he got a couple of new jobs he should be putting some effort into?

Skiptheheartsandflowers · 20/07/2021 14:34

@Roussette

So Harry having fun doing an interview with James Corden whilst not doing anything awful is now lumped in with OW? Blimey

Do you know for a fact that Harry is going to spill private details of the relationship between his father and him?
Because nowhere have I read that. Do post a link where this is stated.

You said he'd done only one interview. Not the case.

The realm of 'facts' is pretty light for all of this. Still waiting on the link showing that TM got paid mega bucks for the letter. There's no proof that Harry will talk about intimate family relationships, but it's my view - shared by quite a few other posters - that that's exactly what the publishers will want and have paid for. Why would you imagine he'll hold back?

We're clearly not going to agree on TM, and this is a Harry thread so it can return to him as the centre of discussion. But I like Janie see them as far more alike than Harry or his fans would wish to admit.

‘We have to accept that he is no longer a working member of the Royal Family’

Give over and give your head a wobble, who actually gives a shit about these over indulged whingers.
It’s Harry that needs to accept this and hand back his lucrative titles.

@Eaumyword

Oh dear, The Daily Mash on Facebook (satirical) have gone to town today-their daft joke title for Harry's memoir is "Harry - all the birds I've shagged"...! I do think once you start down this path of over sharing, unfortunately the jokes start too. A PP mentioned Sarah Ferguson's autobiography and honestly, Sarah is a cautionary tale in terms of being seen by many as a bit of a laughing stock since she left the RF. She just needed to make money to clear debts, but if you want to be seen as a visionary leader in this, that and the other, maybe you don't want the jokes to follow you either.
Yeah, I ind it hilarious when the Harkles' stalwart supporters say "Oh but Fergie wrote a book too!" as though it were some kind of defence.

Fergie, as you say, has been a joke and a byword for tackiness and money grubbing for decades now. Hence the 'Freebies Fergie' moniker. Weren't the Harkles supposed to be better than that? "Carving out a progressive role", "passionate" about this and that charity, and so on?

Yet the best their supporters can do is compare them to a woman whose name is synonymous with ex-royal grifterdom?

Why these two have such passionate supporters, I do not understand. I simply do not see what is in any way admirable about either of them.

I agree @IcedPurple

Skip You're entitled to your opinion, as I am to mine. TM said he didn't make money with the letter, (well he would, wouldn't he...) but everywhere you read it uses the words 'sold' the letter. Perhaps you can spend a hot afternoon proving he didn't!
He has also said he is and has been paid every single time he speaks to the Press and he will continue to make money out of speaking to the Press. So...

Unless you have a crystal ball you have no idea that Harry will write about the relationship between him and his father. No idea at all. No-one knows.

Posters on here have decided exactly what it's going to be like!
Bizarre

CauliflowerCheese30 · 20/07/2021 14:51

@IcedPurple agree with everything you say.

Roussette · 20/07/2021 14:53

To be honest Purple I only have to see you use the word 'Harkles' and I ignore the rest of your post. Because along with all the other insults you use on them, it's just rude and derogatory.

I'm prepared to be flamed on that as normal. Grin

Oldbutstillgotit · 20/07/2021 14:54

If Harry isn’t going to talk about the RF , it’s hard to imagine what he could write about that would attract Random House and a large advance ( allegedly)

My post wasn't a response to you so not sure why you're making a point of telling me you 'ignored' it?

But by all means continue to get upset and offended on behalf of two of the most self-obsessd people on the planet. Just be aware that they wouldn't do the same for you.

Zuluqueen · 20/07/2021 14:57

Why call them the Harkles? What does it mean?

Oldbutstillgotit · 20/07/2021 14:58

Is it not a combination of Harry and Markle ?

Roussette · 20/07/2021 14:58

😂🤣😁

That's funny, that's quite tame for you! Just 'self obsessed' in your post.

p.s. not upset at all lol, and I'd be a tad worried if they did anything for me!

Roussette · 20/07/2021 14:59

@Zuluqueen

One of their 'nicknames' that somebody thinks is funny but is designed to mock them.
