Blurb from publisher.

In an intimate and heartfelt memoir from one of the most fascinating and influential global figures of our time, Prince Harry will share, for the very first time, the definitive account of the experiences, adventures, losses, and life lessons that have helped shape him.

Covering his lifetime in the public eye from childhood to the present day, including his dedication to service, the military duty that twice took him to the frontlines of Afghanistan, and the joy he has found in being a husband and father, Prince Harry will offer an honest and captivating personal portrait, on that shows readers that behind everything they think they know lies an inspiring, courageous and uplifting human story.'

The title will be ghastly. It'll have 'Prince' in it somewhere.

Mostly because he actually is a Prince.

Mummy194 · 20/07/2021 00:38

@JacquelineCarlyle

This is so sad.

I loved Meghan with Harry when she first came on the scene and was excited to see how they would change the monarchy and loved how excited he was when he spoke to the cameras after Archie's birth. Such good will for him and his new family.

Since then it just seems to be all downhill to the point it feels like he's actively trying to bring down the monarchy. The queen surely can't have too many birthdays left and with the jubilee next year, seems like he's trying to sour things and just seems such a shame for all her hard work and dedication throughout the decades.

I hope his royal titles are removed and he's removed from the line of succession as this is too much now. So sad!

Did you feel this sad, when MM was being hounded by the press, I wonder.

My Journey, From Prince to Pauper.

@Cacacoisfarraige

Unlike the interview, I expect the royal family lawyers will expect an advance copy of the manuscript and will scrub out the lies and rubbish, as a consequence it might not end up much longer than the Bench (37 pages)
I doubt they're actually expecting it. Random House isn't going to recoup their $20 million on anything palace-approved, and I suspect all involved know that.

I expect the 30-page dossier about how every employee who complained about Meghan is mean and unfair and probably racist will be in there somewhere, though.

My Journey, From Prince to Pauper.
A 'pauper' with a mega million Netflix and Spotify deal. A job in silicone Valley. No help from the government.

God help the rest of us.

SpindleWhorl · 20/07/2021 00:43

He needs to learn to see himself as others see him.

Mummy194 · 20/07/2021 00:43

Isn't the bullying still under investigation?

So doubt it can legally be there. Though it would not surprise me if there is no investigation, considering the 'victims' wanted no part of it. Probably just something to hold on and keep the smear going.

PurpleOkapi · 20/07/2021 00:44

@Mummy194 Are you going to post the link to William dressing as a "savage Zulu," or not?

@Mummy194 I did actually although thought that it was no different to what the press did to Princess Di and Sarah Ferguson where they tried to put them against each other and were vile about their appearances.

They were also vile about Sophie and Prince Edward back in the day and also about Kate Middleton although Kate's family kept very quiet so didn't really give them much ammunition.

Long way of saying I thought they were horrible about Meghan, but no more than they always have been about the Royals. The Royal family adopted their usual 'never explain, never complain' mantra and carried on as they always have done.

As I said, maybe Harry can clarify.

Sorry @JacquelineCarlyle, but I disagree. I think MM had the usual, plus some. Made even worse by SM, then add racism on top. It was extremely intense around 20 stories per publication, with no break for pregnancy etc.

Prince Harry’s Memoirs to be published.

Prince to pauper is an excellent title.

If you only value £ signs then I imagine you can pretend all is fine. The rest of us that value decency see it much more clearly. Selling your grandma over and over again. Keep your hero, he really isn’t what you hope him to be.

@JaniieJones

'Yes, there is an audience in America for this book. I have a feeling the image of the UK abroad is about to take a hit.'

Do the Americans lap all this bollocks up then? I though they were more intelligent tbh.

I'm sure there are Americans who would welcome reading the book or anything related to the Royal Family.

It's a minority, that's for sure.

We are a big country and many probably could not recognize Harry and I had never heard of Meghan and I live in the US. Ive never seen her tv program.

Don't generalize an entire population. Plus, your comment about how you thought we were more intelligent. That's just rude.

I can't believe he is doing it and donating the proceeds, destroying their loved ones in the Queens later years.

Mummy194 · 20/07/2021 01:17

The only clarity we have is that it was only Harry whose picture was leaked.

Guess that is what is meant by "harry has to learn that he is the sparer"

Prince Harry’s Memoirs to be published.

Thank goodness that turnip was born second.
I don’t post on these threads often, but that’s brilliant - all my thoughts bundled up and clarified in seven simple words!

@Cacacoisfarraige

Harry’s so easy to egg on, his judgment is really poor.
I'm beginning to think that.
StartupRepair · 20/07/2021 01:31

He wants to teach us that we have 'more in common than we think'.
There is a lot I don't have in common with him (apart from wealth and privilege).
I respected my grandparents.
I love and support my siblings and their children.
I don't complain about the hard work I did in my 20s (or 30s, 40s and 50s.)
I accept that my parents made mistakes.
I still have all my old friends.
I don't change facts to suit the listener.
