No mention of Lilibet on Royal Family website

The royal family's website - Royal.uk - says that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have one child , Archie. I find this extraordinary. You'd think they have the staff to update a website. Are there any informed royal watchers out there who could explain this? Does a new addition to the family need to be introduced to the Queen before he/she is acknowledged?

Perhaps the one memoir is so big it needs more than one book to cover it all.

@AnnunciataZ

Are any of them actually religious apart from the Queen? They go to church with her from time to time but do say, Charles and Camilla or William and Kate, attend regular services?

I don't think you need to attend regular services to be religious, or a Christian.
Charles, William and George are going to be head off the CofE one day, so I'd like to think they are Christians.

@MrsFin I agree that you don’t need to attend church regularly to be a Christian, but when a child is Christened in to a church, surely this should mean that they will be a part of the church going forwards? Otherwise it comes across as a bit of a photo op. As pp have said, if it is the actual christening that is important, then it would be logical for it to take place in the US. Who would be the god parents? Would they have to be dragged over here to take part? It would seem unlikely that the godparents would be British. Godparents promise to help with the spiritual upbringing of a child. That would be difficult if they live on two different continents, I would have thought.

I suppose NOT getting her christened, or being christened outside of the CofE, would rule out any possibility of her acceding to the throne.
And whilst improbable, it's not impossible that the Cambridges could all be involved in the same plane crash.....
I realise Archie would accede rather than Lili, but the RF have to think of these things.

I think we established elsewhere that it doesn’t specify what religion you have to be (or not) to ascend the throne, apart from you can’t be Roman Catholic ( thanks to Henry viii🤣)

Oh really? Interesting.
Perhaps there were no other religions of significance in this country when that law was made.
I doubt very much that we could have someone Jewish on the throne for example.
(Though PC once said, aeons ago, that when he becomes king he wants to be Defender of Faiths, rather than Defender of THE Faith.
I wonder if we could have a monarch of no faith? Given that they rule by divine right.

“Miss Lilibet Mountbatten-Windsor” has now been added as no.8 on the Royal family website, so all the conspiracy theorists out there can stand down Grin. (I suspect it just took a while to get to the top of the social media team’s to-do list).

Slightly off topic but Harper Collins has today announced that an update version of Finding Freedom is to be published in August .
Did Omid not deny this when it was first rumoured ?

He did, @Oldbutstillgotit. He was quite cross about it in April, in fact.

I suspect he’ll say that it’s the bit about “reopening royal rifts” that was the inaccurate part - although given I suspect the new chapters will deal with the Oprah interview, and possibly other matters, it’s hard to see how how that would be inaccurate…

Ha ha, he's a fine one to talk about facts, it was his comments that were removed from the documentary on ITV as he had no evidence to back up his claims.

America has just updated it's travel information to designate the UK as a very high risk destination. Travel to the UK is advised against.

There is a God (as we're talking about religion).

Just so predictable.

Scobie's pathetic denial of claims of an update to tacky Finding Freedom make him about as credible as H when it comes to getting his story straight 🙄.

Imagine that pair and their shenanigans round as a thorn in the royal family's side for the next 50 years. I think something will have to be done. Not sure what though.

I think they just need to carry on leading by example, doing the royal duties with dignity.

H is making a fool of himself, any 'retaliation' would lower the rf to the Sussex's attention seeking tabloidy level.

What is Harry supposed to have done now?

All I've seen today is a worthwhile statement on Archewell condemning inequality and racial bigotry within the media.

And it's backed by a coalition of UK journalists.

Great Smile

@ Roussette.
I don’t think anyone is saying that Harry has done anything ( unless I have misread ) however the latest discussion is around the issuing of an updated Finding Freedom and what it will cover plus OS denied any such update only 3 months ago. And it is to be released on the 31st August .
Harry and Meghan have always denied involvement with FF yet part of the update is about M’s miscarriage which is an incredibly sensitive subject .

OK... it's just there are posts saying he's making a fool of himself and talking of the pair's shenanigans, so I wondered.

Report
Oldbutstillgotit · 27/07/2021 14:51

Well I don’t think many people believe that Harry and/or Meghan have not contributed to FF either directly or indirectly.
