To think Prince Harry should give up his titles?

Let’s face it, he has suffered immensely being born into the most famous and privileged family in the world. His titles were bestowed solely due to the family he was born into with the expectation that he would be a ‘working’ member of that family in return for the privilege and unfathomably (to us plebs) luxurious lifestyle he enjoyed (or not as he says now).

He has thankfully escaped his gilded cage and is no longer a working member of the family, in fact he has completely trashed that institution and in doing so also the Head of it, his Grandmother, the Queen while her husband of 73 years was ill in hospital and dying.

As he has suffered so much due to the public interest of his life (interest purely due to his title) by the public and the media so much, shouldn’t he just jack it all in and decree that he is no longer ‘Royal’ by giving up his titles and living quietly in the US with his family?

I wish the whole lot of them would renounce their titles. Monarchy and aristocracy with its kings and queens and aristocracy with its Earls, Lords, Ladies and Dukes etc are long past their sell-by dates. All the fawning and curtseying and looking up to these insanely rich but otherwise normal human beings is bloody bonkers. The idea of them being waited on hand and foot and people grovelling at their feet is obscene .

The problem with Andrew is that a large proportion of the population genuinely don’t care or they don’t think he’s done anything wrong.

In a country where sub 5% of reported rapes actually get prosecuted and rape victims are generally held to be “asking for it” because of the length of their skirt, how much they drank, the route they took home…do you really think there’s much outrage about Andrew sleeping with 17 years olds? No matter how murky the circumstances surrounding their consent?

The late Princess Margaret would surely have been Princess of the Liver, she was fond of a drop or two, allegedly.

Andrew will get what's coming to him at the Ghislene Maxwell trial. He isn't going to avoid the wrath of the general public forever. Harry attracting so much attention at the moment because his life is like a roller coater. Hates the media but did a huge interview with Oprah? Makes no sense

There’s even less outrage about that, that’s been known for years and only really started to gain traction in the last 24 months.

There are how many convicted sex offenders in the Catholic Church and people still go every week (maybe they zoom these days)

The BBC knew about Saville and did nothing, people know this and still watch their programs.

There’s a truly disgusting undercurrent when it comes to victims of sexual abuse that implies fault on their behalf rather that apportioning it to the people that actually commit the crime - I don’t know what the fix is but asking “what about Andrew” when people are talking about Harry muddles things.

Nah, I say he should keep the titles and milk them for what he can get. They were his birthright after all. He's hardly the most embarrassing/problematic member of that family either.

But then I think the whole Royal family are just glorified Kardashians after all (and at least the Kardashians grafted to get to where they are, it wasn't just handed to them).

Andrew has to go through official channels, it's too serious to gossip about. I think the met are now investigating.

I don't have much of an opinion about Harry aside from he needs to fund his own security.
