Harry and Megan have just announced their new baby's name.

What's everyone's thoughts?

OP posts:
Worried234 · 06/06/2021 21:04

Nice enough name. I doubt they give two shits what anyone else thinks. I wouldn't.

oneglassandpuzzled · 06/06/2021 21:04

CokeDrinker

The BBC has never said that the Queen has the authority to decide on the next monarch. That is laid down by law.

StormzyinaTCup · 06/06/2021 21:05

Interesting move on the H&M chess board.

I like the name however I’m on the fence as to how genuine/affectionate this is?🤔 time will tell I suppose.

Let’s not forget there is still 1hr 30mins from the ‘bombshell’ OW interview on the cutting room floor. Also the new chapters going into the reissued ‘Finding Freedom’ book.

I’m certainly not thinking they have found any sense of self-awareness or realisation of their own hypocrisy just yet.

SimonedeBeauvoirscat · 06/06/2021 21:06

Anyone who thinks the racial or constitutional histories of the US and the U.K. are substantially similar is clearly in need of further education. Saying so isn’t picking sides in terms of who gets to be ‘less racist’ or ‘more racist’. Places can be culturally and historically distinct in a meaningful way which has important context without needing to indulge in this bizarre childish oneupmanship game. But clearly these kinds of threads have a well worn path in which my attempts to have a serious discussion about cultural, historical and constitutional nuance are about as welcome as a bear at a picnic. So I’ll desist and leave you to throw the contents of some dumpsters at each other.

Serenster · 06/06/2021 21:06

@Roussette

Serenster I copied from the official Royal website that Mountbatten-Windsor is the name that the Queen has agree that anyone in the RF can use should they need a surname.

And obviously Archie, and now Lili does need a surname. I think (but feel free to correct me) that 'Wales' was not an official surname, just how they referred to Harry in the Army.

Smile

Archie and Lili could presumably use Wales as well (George and Charlotte use Cambridge as their surname at school) though, with the advantage that they’d all be using the same name.

Exactly, I just wish everyone would leave them alone. I am not even into royalty, just let them make their own life choices, we do not own them.

dorangme · 06/06/2021 21:08

Don't let the rubbish hit you on the way out!

Doubletrouble99 · 06/06/2021 21:08

Don't think the two names work very well together but hay ho.

dorangme · 06/06/2021 21:09

we do not own them

This is it the crux of it isn't it & what H obviously hated. I'd hate it too.

Serenster I honestly thought (and do correct me if you know different) that 'Wales' was just a name used in an unofficial capacity in the Army for a name badge or whatever.

Do you mean that Archie and Lily should be 'Sussex'? If George and Charlotte use 'Cambridge'. I don't understand.

There would be an outcry of they did!

Getyourarseofffthequattro · 06/06/2021 21:10

Oh another one who can't see the irony in their post. Dear me.

Catra · 06/06/2021 21:10

I imagine Piers Morgan, Daily Fail, and the rest of the Megan bashers will lose their minds...

Imagine if they'd called her Phillipa? Or Princess ....

I can't believe that they don't realise what tossers they look in the eyes of the world with this

In your eyes maybe.

Not sure you can speak for the whole world....

Scrambledcustard · 06/06/2021 21:13

I think one of them will do anything to stay relevant and the other one is having a huge mental health crisis.

Its a really strange name choice considering so much "genetic pain" was passed down to harry from the Queen...

George and Charlotte are called Cambridge I thought.
ArmoireArmy · 06/06/2021 21:14

@mathanxiety

I know The Duke having pancreatic cancer to be true, everyone on fleet street knew. I don’t reveal my sources though so you might actually have to use google

Yet more disrespect for his privacy and that of his family, @ArmoireArmy

Did you just google that or do you have an actual source?

Actual source! @CokeDrinker @mathanxiety www.instagram.com/p/CPyqNzfl8Is/?utm_medium=share_sheet Lady Colin Campbell is one of many people who have confirmed this, and I would suggest you look up Castle Goring and her many connections to the royal families of Europe if you want to try and invalidate her for being divorced to her royal husband Lord Colin Campbell after a short marriage as if that’s her only royal connection (He beat her up, of course she’s going to divorce him).
murbblurb · 06/06/2021 21:15

Yes, a bit odd to do so much slagging off and then use this name! Fortunately the queen's childhood nickname wasn't 'snookums' or 'chubby cheeks'....

Scrambledcustard · 06/06/2021 21:15

@MrsMaizel

I can't believe that they don't realise what tossers they look in the eyes of the world with this . Too many "yes people" with them all day .
Yep. I'd really love to know Dorias thoughts on this
Roussette · 06/06/2021 21:15

George and Charlotte are called Cambridge I thought

Yes Serenster said that. If that's the case, that means Archie and Lili could be Sussex would go down like a lead balloon. So they have used the surname that the Queen has said members of the RF can use if they need a surname.

Mandalay246 · 06/06/2021 21:16

What a lovely name and a such nice way to honour the queen........an even better way to honour the queen would've been NOT slag off her family in the media

This says it all. If they liked Lili so much as a name why not just use that?

Roussette · 06/06/2021 21:16

ArmoireAmy

Lady CC. Good grief. She just stirs a pot to make money for herself.

Getyourarseofffthequattro · 06/06/2021 21:16

Why isn't it on his death cert then?
