Harry and Megan have just announced their new baby's name.

What's everyone's thoughts?

OP posts:
ArmoireArmy · 06/06/2021 20:23

@EdithWeston Do you think they consulted the Queen before the Oprah interview too? Do you think she agreed to let them air an interview that made her husband’s last days more stressful while he lay dying of pancreatic cancer? It’s pretty appalling what they did and I can’t believe comments are being reported when anyone dares criticise them.

CauliflowerBalti · 06/06/2021 20:23

Are we imagining that this happened and the Queen didn't know about it? That they didn't FaceTime her months ago and say Gran, we're thinking about this, what do you think? We know that they have a close relationship - some of y'all are insane and falling right for the Piers Morgan/Telegraph narrative.

Roussette · 06/06/2021 20:23

May I suggest you bore off with your predictable patronising and pathetic comments

littlepatitou do report any of my posts that break Talk Guidelines. I'm OK with that.

Sorry to say, I will post what I want that doesn't break TG. Think some of your hateful ranting is a bit close to the mark to be honest

littlepattilou · 06/06/2021 20:23

@Roussette

littlepatitou

Reading your long embittered rant earlier on, I'm not the weird one I can assure you.

I'm finding this thread hilarious and sadly, very predictable. I'll keep commenting if its OK with you 😂

Er yes dear. Would you like a glass of water? I can see if I can find a glass with Harry and Meghan's face printed on if you like.

Bet you've got a tattoo of them haven't you?

Ironicpentameter · 06/06/2021 20:23

The nickname Lilibet was first conferred on the Queen as a child by 'Grandpa England', George V.

Thedogscollar · 06/06/2021 20:23
@SenecaFallsRedux

Who calls her Lilibet? Her children call her Mummy, her grandchildren call her Granny, Great Grandchildren call her “Gan-Gan”, Sophie, Diana, Sarah, Timothy call her “Mama”. Everyone that isn't an immediate member of the royal family has to refer to the monarch by her official title. Nobody is able to call her Lilibet or Elizabeth anymore.
Good grief you seem to have a lot of knowledge on what the family members call The Queen. How exactly do you know this as a fact?

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 06/06/2021 20:23

Their baby their choice,

TurquoiseLemur · 06/06/2021 20:24

@SallyLockheart

Trying too hard to continue links to RF
Harry is still Charles' son, whatever has happened.
Trethew · 06/06/2021 20:24

Lovely names but once again, given recent history, they have messed up. Grossly insensitive, verging on cruel. Poor Queen

They only said positive things about the queen in that interview. Wtf were you watching?

CauliflowerBalti · 06/06/2021 20:24

The Queen knew, she'd have made her views known and if she didn't want him to, he would hardly have named his daughter in tribute to her - that's the whole point of calling her Lilibet.

Whenigrowupiwanttobea · 06/06/2021 20:25

Lilibet was Princess Margaret's name for her because she couldn't pronounce Elizabeth. Prince Phillip's name for her was "Cabbage"

Love that! You made me larf! Are there glasses with their faces on? Can you do me a link? 😂 Wine

I agree with this. I think what they did was utterly self absorbed and unforgivable. They are an awful pair.

Pamela Mountbatten calls her Lilibet in private and always has. Her niece and nephew call her Lilibet (with Aunt or Auntie).

Princess Margaret called her Lilibet or Lil. Why would her children not do the same?

BreakingtheIce · 06/06/2021 20:27

They could have called their children Tom and Dora!

moose62 · 06/06/2021 20:27

I guess they had to try and think of something different as princess Charlotte's middle names are Elizabeth Diana.

Prefer just Lili, Lilibet is trying too hard but glad the baby arrived safely.

Harry: We're thinking of naming our daughter Lilibet, in honour of you Queen: I'd rather you didn't Harry: TOUGH WE WILL HONOUR YOU!

Can't see it.

Can any of those who are being disingenuous and can't see the irony suggest why anyone would name a dc after the head of an institution that is allegedly racist and that offered no support which allegedly led to them having suicidal thoughts.

It is a funny one isn't it? Do we think they are reaching out and trying to make amends perhaps?

dorangme · 06/06/2021 20:28

I dislike this precious pair even more now ... I wish they'd bore off, stay in the USA, and NEVER darken our doorstep again. I wish the media/news would stop featuring them, and massaging their egos!

You do realise the all this anger you have fuels the media machine around them.

It's really not healthy to be so angry at strangers that haven't done anything to you.

mathanxiety · 06/06/2021 20:28

Why would British posters know every unusual name used in America?

Have you even heard of Google, @Marguerite2000?

Barney60 · 06/06/2021 20:29

i like it too.

No, Lilibet was what Elizabeth called herself. Elizabeth was five years old by the time Margaret was talking, and she had been called Lilibet long before that.
dorangme · 06/06/2021 20:29

They have turned their back on the UK, and yet have the fucking audacity to use the names Lilibet, and Mountbatten

This post sums up the craziness on here. A man is criticised for having the fucking audacity to use his own name 🤣🤣🤣
