If Harry's childhood experience has been so difficult and painful why on earth would he or Meghan wish to hold on to the titles?

It is is very disingenuous to say Royal life is so awful and yet still sign off their latest books with the Duchess of Sussex etc. I am so tired of their seemingly infinite ability to be such hypocrites. How can anyone think otherwise after all of this? Time for the Queen now to step in and take them out of the picture altogether, they are just trading on her family name and insulting her at the same time. Hideous given she has just lost her cherished husband.

I do feel such horror at who Harry has become, and the extent of the brainwashing.

Roussette · 14/05/2021 14:54

Tabitha I've read your post. And no, you don't know at all. Nor do I.

You have an opinion. As do I. Can you call me 'kid' again? It's been a long time and many years since I've been called that and I rather like it!

EerieSilence · 14/05/2021 14:56

TBH, there is a grain of truth in that criticism of the RF way of bringing up their children.
I have very little sympathy for the RF, even more now that they are very obviously protecting a pedophile.

As did Sarah. For many more books than we've seen with these two! And whatever posters here may say, she did a tell all book and a OW session about how miserable her life was in the RF.

BeforetheFlood · 14/05/2021 14:58

I’m going to share the good stuff

which is pointing the finger at his family for the shortcomings of his privileged upbringing? Speaking at length about his 'genetic pain'?

That's why people struggle with them. They come out with all this waffly positivity stuff about love and compassion and being kind, while their actions tell the absolute opposite story of self-absorption, a lack of loyalty and an unwillingness to understand and forgive. It's a trait so often seen online now, where people lecture others about how to be empathetic and 'you don't know what someone else is going through', while overlooking the fact that they are, indeed, lecturing others without knowing what they're going through.

Do we think their plan to try and follow in her footsteps? It's certainly looking scarily similar from an outsiders prospective.

Sarah never directly criticised the queen or other members of the royal family. She remained on good terms with all of them other than Philip.

And I do find it amusing how all the Harkleistas are using"freebies Fergie" as a comparison with the sainted twosome. A woman who for years has been a byword in tackiness, grifterdom and freeloading. Many of us said all along that the Humanitarian Harkles would be on the road to Fergiedom before long. We just didn't think it would happen quite so fast.

Roussette · 14/05/2021 15:06

I have no idea what those silly terms mean so no point in replying to you. It makes no sense because of your made up trying to be clever words..

To the other poster about going down this route... well ... Sarah has trod that path big time hasn't she

GlencoraP · 14/05/2021 15:06

Yes she did , but to be frank she has had zero credibility since the whole toe sucking debacle and so most people have paid little or no attention or just treated it as one big joke. I think also there was a bit of sympathy for her daughters , but only a bit , look at some of the awful press they have had over the years .

Harry I’d literally making money out of his parents and grandparents shortcomings . That’s not pleasant . He is entitled to feel aggrieved in fact he is entitled to feel whatever he wants but, in my opinion, he is misguided in sharing his opinions on the global airwaves . Words are like toothpaste o very out they can never be put back ,

PegPeople · 14/05/2021 15:11

Yes and all she got in return was ridicule, endless mocking and no respect. Her poor kids suffered as a result too. Is it too much to consider that Harry and Meghan would take heed of what happened when she went down that path?

Tabitha005 · 14/05/2021 15:14

I just think they're no different, in respect of 'airing their dirty linens in public' (as my Grandmother would have it) than so many people who put their entire lives on social media and then wonder why someone might view them as a bit, well, odd.

Then again, I think most celebrities & hugely privileged people (as that's basically what M&H are now) are 'odd' anyway - especially in interviews. They generally use a lot of words without saying anything of any value whatsoever. And, they've got an entirely self-obsessed and rarified opinion of themselves, by and large. That's why it's so surprising when you hear a story about a celebrity who WASN'T a massive arsehole.

I've met many 'slebs along with what many of us would term 'megastars' in the course of my previous career and there were only two who stand out as being 'nice' on face value. The rest were all a mix of humourless show-offs or way-too-busy-to-deal-with- the-likes-of-you-talk-to-my-pa-types and not much in between.

Great wealth and fame do strange things to a lot of people. It's a rare one who can, genuinely, not let it affect them and continue in the vein of being a vaguely 'normal' human being.

Roussette · 14/05/2021 15:20

Peg They are not at the point of flogging china yet!

Have you listened to the podcast? It's really not bad at all. But of course we are only talking about two or three sentences out of 1.5 hours

derxa · 14/05/2021 15:21

The Queen must wake up every morning and wonder which member of her family is going to make a fool of themselves that day. She is reputed to have copies of all the daily papers laid out for her every morning.

Smashingorbs · 14/05/2021 15:23

I'm no particular fan of any of them but I do think Sarah Ferguson's treatment by the RF and the media has been massively hypocritical. I doubt she did anything that all the others haven't done (allegedly) but she was a woman, the wife of the Queen's favourite , and she got caught.

It's hardly worse than the activities that Andrew has allegedly been involved in is it?

Summercocktailsinthesnow · 14/05/2021 15:23

I think Sarah's misdemeanours pale into insignificance compared to the Sussex duo!!! She may have been a lot of things, but she wasn't malicious or spiteful. They are hellbent on taking down the RF, and it is very unedifying to watch.

artquejtion · 14/05/2021 15:25

@MagicSummer, sorry I meant how their nanny is dressed, I wasn't referring to the children

Harry’s podcast
GlencoraP · 14/05/2021 15:27

She doesn’t dress like that on a day to day basis . Only when at formal occasions , that photo was at Charlottes christening I think

Yes I've listened to it. However just because it doesn't make up 100% of the podcast doesn't mean we cannot discuss the fact he's made these comments.

I do hope they have a light bulb moment at some point soon. Surely they can see they are following Sarah's footsteps and Harry must understand how her actions impacted on his cousins so fuck knows why he'd want the same for his kids.

workshy44 · 14/05/2021 15:28

Their only currency is that they are royal- what else have they done really to garner so much attention otherwise. If they have no title and are not seen on the balcony at major royal events their stock will drop fairly quickly. She at least is aware of that and why I would imagine she has zero intention of giving it up.

I do wonder, once they have told all their secrets what else will there be for them. They have made their money but I wonder post lockdown will people really be that interested in listening to them lecturing the rest of the world ad nauseum ?
They are not the Obamas, which them seem to be desperately trying to emulate

IcedPurple · 14/05/2021 15:29
@MagicSummer, sorry I meant how their nanny is dressed, I wasn't referring to the children
She isn't normally dressed in the uniform. Google 'Maria Borello' and you'll find that in the vast majority of cases she's wearing 'normal' clothes.

Viviennemary · 14/05/2021 15:33

Maybe Archie won't thank them in future for moving him away from one half of his extended family and being no contact with all the other half except one. Maybe he'll be grateful. We dont know.

There are many, many people who had far tougher childhoods and manage to grow up to be happy, fulfilled adults.

Let's just say one was the daughter of 'The King' and the other is well-known for his likeable, very un-starry attitude, even when he's not stuck in the matrix.
