Positive thread on Meghan again

Now that at the other knock off MN chat has been shut down, we seem to have an influx of those posters on here with new or encouraged accounts.

For those who are not interested in trawling through negative post after the other. You can come on here for positive news about Meghan and Harry.

Why not, everyone else seems to be viewed positively, without 'cynicism'. I don't mind taking this at snail pace, we just post on the good things about H&M, they sure seem to be doing a lot of that lately, and it's really buried under the negativity on MN.

Proctor & Gamble just announced a multi year partnership with Archewell.
Well, that is quite a big deal.

Oh well if you explained - it must be true 🤪

You really think you’ve got this sussed don’t you despite your tenuous understanding of the royal family’s role and tbh honest life in the UK. Who in the UK has a ‘medical aid’ company?

Mummy194 · 11/05/2021 22:04

That is a lot of major brands.P&G must have about 65 brands under their banner in the US.

In many ways it's come full circle since that letter MM wrote when she was 11.

Presumably, if P&G are partnering with Archewell, which is not for profit, there will be no financial gain for the Sussexes?

Marmaladeagain · 11/05/2021 22:14

not a circle as such more a quick shortcut via using name and position obtained by marrying into the UK royal family and publicly trashing them.

Notoriety is what I think ultimately will be known for and due course and infamy of course, they've got it infamy...(carry on etc).

Smilesy - this is how they make money now, making money by looking like giving money - there's definitely a circle there.

Foundations, charities - much more financially rewarding circle of money to be part of than boring old acting....

Mummy194 · 11/05/2021 22:25

@smilesy
I suppose the set up will be the same as the Obamas, Buffets, Munger etc. Have you asked for their details? They have been going on for ages, they will probably give you an idea of how it works.

OP posts:
LittleBearPad · 11/05/2021 22:34

Warren Buffet and Charlie Munger made multiple billions through investments in international companies.
Barack Obama was president of the US.

Harry and Meghan....

Yep you’re right it’s exactly the same. 😂

smilesy · 11/05/2021 22:35

No need for snark @Mummy194, I was genuinely wondering. Stop jumping down people’s throats please.

Mummy194 · 11/05/2021 22:42

@smilesy

Don't think I am the one jumping down people's throats around here.

Have you actually seen the latest posts.

Hi Smilesy - my understanding is that not for profit organisations can pay salaries to employees/officers and can pay reasonable compensation to people offering any services to benefit the organisation. It could depend on how independently rich and maybe how altruistic individuals are as to whether they compensate themselves for supporting the organisation.

Why do people come on here to just insult other posters and rubbish anything that's said.?
Disagree by all means, but why can't it be healthy discussion instead of repeating the same old same old...

For the record, no one on here works for them or their PR, or are a paid shill or Doria or a friend or Meghan (I've had all that levelled at me and it's got to the point I yawn and think...ahhh you've got no point to make so you're reverting to this AGAIN! And it's really boring for anyone looking in!)

I'm quite happy to disagree and discuss, I mentioned P&G's track record on the environment but Mummy194 has not responded on that (or for that matter denied she is a paid employee of SS) her dedication to the cause of MM seems way over and above anyone else's, hence my post.

With all due respect you have no idea what or who anyone is on here nevermind what they do or don't do for a living.

I'll leave you all to it now.

Roussette · 12/05/2021 07:00

No, I agree I dont know. But there are many names I know and they've been here a heck of a time so I sincerely doubt it.
I certainly know what I do or don't do for a living and I get it all the time.

And really.... does Mummy have to deny this stuff every single time someone brings it up, do I have to do so also all the time?

No one accuses detractors of working for the RF PR machine, or being Kate's friend or being Zara or whatever.
It's just when there is no comeback to certain posts, so that's thrown in with tedious monotony.

It appears P&G are moving forward to do good...
'Our multi-year global collaboration with Archewell Foundation unites us behind a shared mission where we’ll be focused on gender equality, creating more compassionate and inclusive online spaces, and resilience & impact through Para sports'
But all major conglomerates like them need to do better as your links show.

smilesy · 12/05/2021 07:27

@Eaumyword. Thank you for your clear and succinct answer x

Gorgeouslilgirl · 12/05/2021 08:21

I don’t understand why it matters or somehow diminishes their charitable efforts if they are paid?

Everyone earns a living, including the Queen.

smilesy · 12/05/2021 08:24

It doesn’t. I was just wondering what the point in making a deal with a large company was. It makes sense now. Not diminishing their efforts in any way.

Gorgeouslilgirl · 12/05/2021 08:26

What in your view is the point of making a deal with a big company? 😊

StormzyinaTCup · 12/05/2021 08:54

Rousette I haven't mentioned you in my post and haven't asked you to deny anything. What has gone on over the years on other threads I've no idea.

But also 'celebrity' couples need to make sure the company that they are going to align themselves with has the same global values as themselves, which in the case of P&G is very debatable. A disregard for the environment and the devastation caused by deforestation and what goes on in global communities with regard to Palm oil does not make the ideal partner if your main driver is concern for the environment, equality for women and improving global communities.

In keeping with the thread title I'll add my positive bit, I did like the NZ/ beanie hat thing they did.

smilesy · 12/05/2021 08:57

Things were just not making sense. They do now. I had a brain fart. It happens 😀

Mummy194 · 12/05/2021 09:33

@Roussette

These are the same people who were here before making the numbered threads against MM. Back then, as they do now, they kept changing their usernames to make it seem like there are many people who hate MM. They know exactly who we are, we don't have to explain ourselves to them every time.

OP posts:
Samcro · 12/05/2021 09:34

@Mummy194 so true. I recognise some of them.

Mummy194 · 12/05/2021 09:41

@StormzyinaTCup

You would sound more genuine if you asked the same question about who is working for who with the negative posters. As you well know, they post about 100 posts per day disparaging MM. Yet you say nothing. It does look like you are one of them, so guess that is not a surprise.

As for P&G. Even as you linked, this decision was made in October, then 4 months later, the environmental companies were calling them out for inaction, which is their duty to keep the pressure on. As it was a shareholder decision, it means P&G are onboard. So it looks like an administrative issue. They are doing a lot with regards to changing as outlined on their Ambition 2030. They also outline and address all their problems regarding the products they produce - which you probably have plenty of yourself at home.

You can read here all the changes they have done, and continue to do :
