The royal family

To be shocked at some RF members turning their back?

It has been reported that some Royal Family members literally turned their back on Prince Harry at Prince Philip's funeral and refused to even acknowledge him.
I have had extended family members behave badly and are in no hurry to be friendly. But I think this is appalling behaviour. I would never do that and especially not at a funeral.
It reminds me of that video being shared where William and Kate totally snub and ignore Harry and Meghan.
It is just so rude and awful.

The only people present at the funeral, were royal family members.

Do you seriously think any of them would tell the media that?

Marmaladeagain · 06/05/2021 21:01

Says William went as a leopard costume with black tights in this article, though I guess your proof is other articles that say William ‘asked’ Grin Blimey you like your proof scarce. Are you a Trudeau fan? He is a Meghan fan but she’s not commented on him? He apparently didn’t find it inappropriate to black face - no evidence about Zulu. Harry would have said that by now as he is keen to take focus off himself.

@fiheka

Of course not. But they have been removed by someone.
Maybe Kate did it while you were chatting to her about her marriage problems? Grin
oakleaffy · 06/05/2021 21:01

Harry’s an entitled brat.
His wife has bought the very worst out in him.
Zero sympathy.
People are suffering.
He is a spoiled child egged on by her.

Fulltimenanny · 06/05/2021 21:03

At the time he had been in hospital not dying . I think if I had everyone talking about me I would want to have had my say. I don't really see it as them stirring, it's their truth.

fiheka · 06/05/2021 21:03

Just checked, my memory is wrong. There were two parties. An Out Of Africa one and a Colonials and Natives one. It was the latter that William dressed up as an "African native" for. And it was this party that Harry wore General Erwin Rommel's Afrika Korps uniform to.
So both William and Harry wore a racist costume to the same party.

To be honest I don’t like the Royal Family. I think they are a bunch of self important idiots. I actually thought MM would be a breath of fresh air (as Princess Diana was) when she married Harry. However I was wrong. MM has turned out to be an even bigger self important idiot. Many of the things MM said in the OP interview can be proved to be wrong (is she really so stupid that she thought that she and PH were actually married in a secret ceremony, 3 days before actual Wedding?).

Harry should not have married her. She has him where she wants now, under her thumb. He will come to regret (if he hasn’t already), ever meeting her

At least their marriage seems genuine built on love. William and Kate on the other hand, oh dear.
amusedtodeath1 · 06/05/2021 21:04

Leopard costume, I had Gorilla in my head but I knew it was an animal at least Grin

Either way not exactly racist.

marcopront · 06/05/2021 21:05

Why would they remove all the photos of William in a racist costume and not those of Harry?

And how did they stop the people who took the photos from uploading them again?
Or even the people who screenshotted them to show a friend from uploading them?

PuffItsGone · 06/05/2021 21:05

They brought it on themselves

ajandjjmum · 06/05/2021 21:08

@YouAreTheStorm

So you must attend the marriage counselling sessions with @fiheka!

I think that Kate must be an amazing actress if there are problems in that marriage - and I don't believe she is.

amusedtodeath1 · 06/05/2021 21:09

Well if there were two parties and both of them wore racist costumes that was wrong of them both. They were young and have probably learned a lot since then, it makes neither of them bad people necessarily.

It's not about punishing them for their every mistake. But William isn't out there on TV disparaging his family for exposure.

2bazookas · 06/05/2021 21:09
Here. William nods at Harry and Meghan, Kate blanks them. This was in 2020 after Harry and Meghan announced they are stepping down. Again just ignorant.
There is an obvious EDIT in that film, just after William spoke to Edward. At the exact place where the "blanking " is claimed.
anniegun · 06/05/2021 21:09

Going NC with your family is pretty standard on Mumsnet so I am not sure what the drama is here

Mrsmadevans · 06/05/2021 21:09

I am not at all shocked

Marmaladeagain · 06/05/2021 21:12

TBH I find two nearly 40 year olds clinging on to one and being so soppy, extremely unappealing. If they were 17, you’d tolerate it but think, then they’d grow up and find love is more than looking adoringly at one another.

Just don’t buy it, looks more like co-dependency to me. Wouldn’t want to sit near such Klingons, get a room or grow up. Imagine them on your sofa acting all gooey like that Grin

amusedtodeath1 · 06/05/2021 21:13

At 99, undergoing any surgery is a life or death moment, it's not unfeasible that his body was shutting down and he came home to die. I've read this somewhere but can't remember where so am phrasing it as speculation rather than fact.

It's not unrealistic to believe that the whole family knew he was likely to die very soon.

AliceMcK · 06/05/2021 21:14

I saw something similar at the time and thought what absolute knobs, you don’t do that at a family funeral regardless of who you are or what’s happened. Prince Philip would be disgusted in their behaviour.

mustlovegin · 06/05/2021 21:16

I don't have an opinion on this particular issue.

But more generally, you have to bear in mind that actions have consequences and reactions.

She doesn't need to be an actress. Just remembering the details of her contract.

ajandjjmum · 06/05/2021 21:19

@YouAreTheStorm
What does this contract say? Presumably you've seen it?

amusedtodeath1 · 06/05/2021 21:19

I'm not sure Prince Philip would have been disgusted though. He was pretty opinionated and believed very much in not airing dirty linen in public. He was incredibly protective of his wife and my feeling is that if he knew about the interview he would not have approved.

God yes I agree, i did chuckle/vom a little when I found out they sit writing poetry for each other. I could never imagine wanting a man to write poetry for me or vice versa - unless it starts with "There was once a young lady from Ealing".
