The royal family

To be shocked at some RF members turning their back?

fiheka · 06/05/2021 16:35

It has been reported that some Royal Family members literally turned their back on Prince Harry at Prince Philip's funeral and refused to even acknowledge him.
I have had extended family members behave badly and are in no hurry to be friendly. But I think this is appalling behaviour. I would never do that and especially not at a funeral.
It reminds me of that video being shared where William and Kate totally snub and ignore Harry and Meghan.
It is just so rude and awful.

@amusedtodeath1

Andrew is trying very hard to be brought back into the Firm. But it's not working, Charles and William will not allow it. The Palace is not encouraging this as far as I can tell. It's just Entitled Andrew who can't accept it's over, for good. Besides which Andrew has FA to do with it, no one is condoning his actions.
The palace pr machine are trying to rehabilitate him.

The true wedding having occurred three days earlier was a stonker it must be said.

amusedtodeath1 · 06/05/2021 20:40

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Charles can't stand Andrew. Rumour has it Andrew has always been over indulged and as a result is not pleasant to be around. He won't be back as a working Royal. I'd like to see him speak to the FBI, but I don't know if that will ever happened tbh.

fiheka · 06/05/2021 20:41

Yes Harry wore a Názi uniform to a bad taste party..
William also wore a racist costume to his Out of Africa party.

If you are brought up in a family where this type of racism is acceptable and you are not very bright, then it does take someone else educating you to see it. I am sure William thinks the RF are not racist. He is wrong.

@YouAreTheStorm

Andrew should be in prison of course.

Kate, well her marriage is a sham, poor love.

I didn't realise Andrew had been found guilty? Although I don't dispute he has questions to answer.

And fancy little old you having an insight into Kate's marriage - I suppose she has to talk to someone! After all, you wouldn't base such comments on nasty rumour would you?

Clearly you know best.

amusedtodeath1 · 06/05/2021 20:42

So you say fahika but I've seen no evidence of this. It's all coming from Andrews private offices.

amusedtodeath1 · 06/05/2021 20:43

William dressed as a Gorilla at an Jungle themed party...very racist.

fiheka · 06/05/2021 20:43

@amusedtodeath1 you think the pr stories in the press are placed by Andrews staff?

[quote fiheka]Three royals are alleged to have turned their back on Harry.

I expect Uncle Andy being all over him like a cheap suit went some way towards soothing the sting.

YouAreTheStorm · 06/05/2021 20:45

Questions to answer?! Really, that old toad is disgusting.

Marmaladeagain · 06/05/2021 20:45

No-one is trying to rehabilitate Andrew except Andrew - can’t refuse to answer questions without looking suspicious.

However that has nothing to do with whether H’s family should bother with him in the future. I hope some titles are stripped from non-working royals - job title redundant. Andrew, Harry etc etc carry on - only direct in line of throne use as a job descriptor.

Let’s face it we call them Andrew, Harry and Anne etc - we don’t need the prince bit - once no longer 2nd or 3rd in line to throne job title no longer needed.

ajandjjmum · 06/05/2021 20:45

@fiheka
William also wore a racist costume to his Out of Africa party.

You have changed this comment from rumour to fact in the course of a few (of your own) posts!

MargaretFraggle · 06/05/2021 20:46

Sometimes, what the casual observer sees, is not the truth

I also have been on the receiving end of this, and agree.

The two princes were very young when they wore those costumes. I know that Nazi costume is extremely popular for fancy dress, it is usually a mick take.

I don't think you can judge two people on things they did while still young and enjoying a free life.

They are years older now and probably look back on youthful high jinks with a mixture of laughter and embarrassment. There is no visible trace of racism in either.

I can't speak for any other members of the royal family.

amusedtodeath1 · 06/05/2021 20:47

Of course fahika, why would the palace show support for him? They're not stupid they know the public won't have it. Charles has always had a troubled relationship with Andrew, he's trying to slim down the number of working royals,he doesn't want Andrew back. These days Charles is defacto King.

A repulsive man - I agree - but that alone doesn't make him a criminal.

For sensible discussion, facts are needed, not emotion.

Viviennemary · 06/05/2021 20:49

I'm amazed anybody acknowledged him at all after that interview.

fiheka · 06/05/2021 20:49

@amusedtodeath1 The theme was not the jungle. The theme of the party was, Out of Africa. And William reportedly dressed as a "zulu" in a black leotard and blacked up. His photo has been purged from the internet. But there are other photos of friends in racist costumes who attended the party.

There will never be any facts. Ever.

Because the photos on the internet have been removed. So there is no proof. There are interviews with William and lots of articles.

OP posts:
ajandjjmum · 06/05/2021 20:54

@YouAreTheStorm

The 'fact' is that all photos of William in his racist fancy dress have been removed from the internet, so that is 'proof' that it is true! Grin

Dentistlakes · 06/05/2021 20:56

Who knows what really went in, but I wouldn’t be surprised if some of the family ignored Harry. They were probably angry with him. I can’t imagine he really thought he was going to turn up and walk into a warm reception surely! It will probably all blow over eventually as long as he doesn’t continue to trash them on talk shows.

fiheka · 06/05/2021 20:56

Of course not. But they have been removed by someone.

He's trying to rehabilitate him.

Judging by the appalled reaction to his 'Nation's Grandfather' hyperbole it's quite rightly going down like a lead balloon.

Andrew is yesterday's news

Only until July 12th...

amusedtodeath1 · 06/05/2021 20:58

I've seen nor heard of that faheka. I can only judge on what I see and it seems you can't prove it either. It's not a very strong point.

I have no doubt that Wills has mistakes, I don't think he or Harry are racists, but neither do I think speculating about a future child's skin colour is racist either. I know we're not supposed to talk about skin colour at all, but if that happened at all, it's not a good example of the racism she felt she suffered. One comment on which they can't agree when it was made does make the RF racist.

Without knowing exactly what was said, by whom and in what context I can't even judge if it was racism nevermind condemn a whole family for it.
