The royal family

To be shocked at some RF members turning their back?

It has been reported that some Royal Family members literally turned their back on Prince Harry at Prince Philip's funeral and refused to even acknowledge him.
I have had extended family members behave badly and are in no hurry to be friendly. But I think this is appalling behaviour. I would never do that and especially not at a funeral.
It reminds me of that video being shared where William and Kate totally snub and ignore Harry and Meghan.
It is just so rude and awful.

Stop trying to make them sound silly for calling a rehearsal a wedding.

It is silly to call a rehearsal a wedding though? Especially when you end up suggesting that the Archbishop of Canterbury has performed an illegal marriage.

MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously · 10/05/2021 10:56

I can well understand having a private moment that feels like your real exchange of vows. But I don't understand why MM would share that - it did come across as unappreciative of the very expensive and beautiful wedding that Britain paid for.

@bluebell34567

they seem to be friendly with some RF members like Princess Eugenie (hence allowing her to live at Frogmore in their absense.) isnt there anywhere else to live in Queen's lots of places? why Frogmore Cottage?
Well its just been done up its a shame to leave it
StormzyinaTCup · 10/05/2021 11:18

Sunshine Sachs are pretty ruthless and they particularly like to prowl around on social media.Wink

Oprah also linked to Weinstein, attached is Seal - challenging Oprah, not many are prepared to do that.

Saying jumping on "me too" movement when been part of the problem all along...

ARoseByAnyOtherNameIsStillAs · 10/05/2021 11:25

Well I saw him walking along and chatting with several members of the RF after the funeral...
Mind you he threw a hand grenade at them so it must have been a bit sticky for many of them at times, imagine being smeared by h and m en mass ...

@mermaidsariel

I wish it was easy to ignore them. They are popping up the whole time , spouting on about things they know nothing about as if they are special prophets. It is really irritating.
they are like Marie Antoinette of France.
bluebell34567 · 10/05/2021 12:13

@Marmaladeagain

what is particularly sneery is the "nobody knows that", as if they've duped people.
totally agree.
bluebell34567 · 10/05/2021 12:15

@pinkmagnolias

Seriously people, they left. It’s very easy to ignore them. Concentrate on following people you like. It would make you all much happier.
nice idea, since they always come out with gibberish, lies, etc.
bluebell34567 · 10/05/2021 12:17

@Cacacoisfarraige

When I was getting married, I was told to say them beforehand as many people can get overwhelmed on the day. I said them beforehand but wasn't under any illusion I’d gotten married

I’m remind of the phrase, you lie down with dogs you get up with fleas. so true.

you mean Weinstein?

I don’t follow these people but it sure as shit feels like they are following me.

Open a paper? There they are - speaking pish.

Switch on the telly? There they are - speaking pish.

Go to the shop? There they are - pish on the front of a mag.

They were not entirely truthful. They were sneery. They are so far up their own hoops that they don’t need a dental hygienist to see what bits they’ve missed with their toothbrushes.

I for one will be happier when I comment on that.

What paper and what tv channels are you watching?

I don’t mind H&M at all and wouldn’t mind reading about them. I follow their fan accounts on Istagram and only for those I’d never hear of them at all. The only place guaranteed to have their up to the minute details is Mumsnet.

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 10/05/2021 12:46

I didn’t watch it but M was on the telly in our crew room today. Red frock. The bench stuff at the weekend. Yadda yadda.

I don’t mind either of them by the way. I disliked that interview. A lot.

But for those who wanted peace and privacy, they are chopsing away fairly often.

And from what I have seen of their actions, they are self indulgent, petulant and entitled.

But you cannot tell us to go away any more than we can tell them to stay far away and shut their beaks.

If they did that, and appreciated how lucky they were in the big scheme of things, no one would say a peep.

ohforarainyday · 10/05/2021 13:05

Interesting reading. These are not nice people

All top PR firms are the same. The American PR firm that Charles used is no better.

How ironic to use a link to the Daily Mail - the newspaper that ran a concerted hate campaign to libel and destroy the life of a disabled highly decorated military vet and charity worker who'd raised cycled 14,000 miles and raised half a million pounds for charity - making up a lie that he'd cheated and continuing to print headlines calling him CHEAT even the official bodies involved confirmed there'd been no cheating. A hate campaign that resulted in his wife miscarrying from stress and them having to flee the country - targeting him purely because he was friends with Harry and attended Harry and Meghan's wedding.

i read that hacking enquiry piece. You are right, they are not nice people.

Lots of the phrases in the article

eg " the paper presented the whole story as if there was only one side to it and we were entirely in the wrong"
"Every way we turned we were required to justify ourselves and explain that the Mail on Sunday was wrong"
"claims about us not only remained readily available to anyone who googled our names but they also continued to be repeated widely on social media."
"They lie, they distort, they bully and they exploit social media to do their dirtiest work."

It reminds me of all the allegations thrown out by Meghan and Harry in the OW interview against the RF .

Andylion · 10/05/2021 14:37

@Crocidura

I can only assume that precedence is given to the person on the right.

I think that's right, the 'senior' person was on the right hand side, so Charles is senior to Anne, William is senior to Peter etc. And Harry seems to have been very keen to get behind William.

I agree. That it appeared to go smoothly is to Linley's credit.

This is the crux of it. It sounds as though, regardless of legality, these private vows are the ones that count for them. I also agree that they should have kept this private.
