Listening to a clip of him speaking at the ‘Vax’ event , he sounded like Gordon Ramsay. He seemed to be loving all the clapping and whooping,

Let me know then when you've found out all about it.

How childish.

Harry should take whatever jobs and support whatever causes he wants. This seems like a good cause and good luck to him.

But he should do it without using his Royal titles because he not acting in a royal capacity. That is what hacks a lot of people off I think.

I wholeheartedly agree with this

Hopefully this won’t be shouted down as
Vile
Ridiculous or ....drumroll....
Stupid

Mummy194 · 03/05/2021 20:51

I think that will work when all the other titled give up their theirs when doing any sort of work.

Dukes of Richmond, Westminster, Beaumont etc. all use their titles, and yes including the DM owner Viscount Rothermere who does not pay taxes here, but profits from the paper. They all work for themselves. Duke of Marlborough who has a long history of arrests and drug addictions. Earl of Strathum in jail for assault on a woman etc.

So no, I don't see why H&M should be singled out to loose titles, especially when they do so much for charities too.

cyclingmad · 03/05/2021 20:58

Why not say all the other non working royals should give up their titles? Why just Harry & Meghan? Unless your biased of course.

End of the day Harry is a prince and a royal by birthright, how can you take someone's bloodline away.

Absolutely ridiculous. How petty do you have to be to be complaining about titles. We don't pay for them any more, but we do pay for plenty of other royals who contribute absolutely nothing and are non working royals themselves.

I think you're actually being serious.

Love all the desperate clutching at straws people are doing to try and make this look bad. Him sounding 'transatlantic' is a new one, I'll grant you that.
But yes,how very dare he publicise a campaign to advance vaccination programmes across the world 🙄.

He should have spent his weekend doing a Twitter boycott like prince William.

ConnieCaterpillar70 · 03/05/2021 21:13

Love all the desperate clutching at straws people are dong to try and make Harry and Meghan look like they're not all out for themselves but are compassionate and dedicated campaigners for charideeeeeee.

Love all the desperate clutching at straws people are doing to try and make Harry and Meghan look like they are taking advantage of a Global Concert in aid of vaccine roll out for the poorest countries as a way of making money for themselves.

GrownUpBeans · 03/05/2021 21:35

Not suggesting Harry and Meghan are stripped of their titles. Just that they only use them when acting in a royal capacity - I thought that was what Beatrice and Eugenie did?

Well as I listed all the other titled. They use them without any royal work.

A boycott to be broken so as to post a pic of your child's birthday of course.
rosetylersbiggun · 03/05/2021 22:47

The organisers of the concern contacted Harry and Meghan and requested they be involved. Not vice versa. What a major coup! How wonderful for them to be so in demand.

The woke brigade of Hollywood looked very happy to welcome him into their world of self congratulation, happy clapping and word salad
The same "Hollywood woke brigade" that William's so desperate to pal up with, and whinges about being rejected by? GrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrin

GrownUpBeans · 03/05/2021 23:41

Mummy 194

Agree there should be a consistent approach. (Personally I would do away with all hereditary titles except for those very close to the throne. It all seems pretty silly.)

bluebell34567 · 03/05/2021 23:53

his main aim is to promote himself thats why it doesnt look sincere and thats why it bothers.
he has behaved the same way before. (naked feet while jetting around the world, etc.)

Viviennemary · 04/05/2021 00:29

It bothers me too. He doesn't want to be royal but he's not a celeb. So who is he. Without his title and connections who is he.

Roussette · 04/05/2021 07:46

Do you mean the actual Vax aid concert and his appearance? Because it went down really well, and he gave an impassioned speech without notes*. So much so, he received a standing ovation by the thousands there and the media was very positive.

It was all really well received, so that's what matters.

*Before anyone says 'prove he didn't have notes' ...I can't. But it is reported he spoke without notes.

He is a royal by birthright. He just didn't want to be a working royal. There is a difference.
GrownUpBeans · 04/05/2021 08:40

In the modern era I think the privilege of monarchy has to be connected with working for the good of the country. It will be interesting to see how Charles deals with this once he is king.

bluebell34567 · 04/05/2021 09:08

agree GrownUpBeans.

Lockupyourbiscuits · 04/05/2021 09:27

Also the Monarchy represents Britain that’s why it is important
He is using a British brand
And has been using it to promote himself ( in his new job - they will now in effect use his title to promote their business)
Everything he does or says is tied to the British Monarchy for good or bad
Other members of the royal family who work are mindful of this
