Listening to a clip of him speaking at the ‘Vax’ event , he sounded like Gordon Ramsay. He seemed to be loving all the clapping and whooping,

The woke brigade of Hollywood looked very happy to welcome him into their world of self congratulation, happy clapping and word salad

What a vile post. Do you know what this concert is about? Do you know it's raising billions for those countries who are in dire straits with covid vaccination?

You need to look to yourself and wonder why you have so much disgust for something good.

Roussette · 03/05/2021 19:36

This thread is vile. It really is.

For some of you (not all) does your hate of Harry override anything good in this world?

For somebody who gets stressed by flashing lights he did well considering

FFS what is the matter with you?

EdithWeston · 03/05/2021 19:37

I can see lots of things in lots of posts. I think it's wrong to use a kind of default characterisation of spitefulness, because that overlooks all the many others

And if you see posts that you think breach MNHQ rules, report them.

Also in case you didn't realise... there were hundreds, if not thousands, of medical frontline workers there. I watched it and read about it.

Are they Hollywood woke? Were they self congratulating themselves?
Those that have saved lives??

Feather12 · 03/05/2021 19:39

Oh he really has! I have lived in the US for over 20 years and I still sound exactly the same. Why does this happen?

I really find this type of post attacking another poster and telling them their comment is “vile” and “You need to look at yourself “ a step to far Surely opinions differ and discussion should be allowed - not closed down
Nohomemadecandles · 03/05/2021 19:46

I wondered where the women went who used to stand on the street in housecoats in the 50's, nudging each other & talking about people "above their station" or "no better than they ought to be".

Found them. Horrid, nasty thread of gossipy uninformed peevishness.

Roussette · 03/05/2021 19:46

So you find that post I spoke about OK and fair? You might. I don't.

I will say what I want about it. It was horrible. Did you read there were front medical workers, all in their uniforms, there? Yet they are referred to as Hollywood 'woke' self congratualting themselves.

sitandwait · 03/05/2021 19:49

So, quick recap: people shouldn't be allowed to post that they dislike Harry, or anything he does, but misogynistic attacks on posters who do express that point of view is fine.

@OverByYer

Yes hopefully governments from around the world will now share their vaccines, because Harry has asked them to

I didn’t find the post “ vile “ It was obvious the poster wasn’t referring to the audience

@cyclingmad

Those commenting to say he probably hadn't even donated? What have you donated then? Pray do tell us please....or shall I just assume its absolutely nothing like you assume of him.
The Oxford / AZ vaccine was funded by the British tax payer. Does H still pay tax here? I don't know whether he does or not.
Samcro · 03/05/2021 20:04

Good greif do people really have nothing better to do on a bank holiday. Just so keen to rip harry apart because he is actually trying to do something.
I agree that a lot of the posts on this thread are vile.

Mrsmadevans · 03/05/2021 20:04

@Roussette

He’s pathetic. Wonder how much he got paid for this.

Read my post above

It was a charity event for a very good cause. No one got paid.

Pretty pathetic all those people doing something for nothing isn't it... how dare they

Terry Wogan was paid 10k for hosting CIN & no one else was paid. Have you any proof Harry wasn't paid?
Dugee · 03/05/2021 20:07

It's hilarious watching the jealous rage that Harry and Meghan are thriving, happy and popular

Are they? They don't seem that happy to me. If they were happy they wouldn't have done the Oprah interview.

Megan isn't popular. She would probably get booed in the U.K. (one if the reasons she didn't come back for Phil's funeral).

Roussette · 03/05/2021 20:07

Have you any proof Harry wasn't paid?

You made this stupid assertion. So you provide your proof he was first.

p.s. Harry isn't Terry Wogan.

ConnieCaterpillar70 · 03/05/2021 20:07

Do you know what this concert is about? Do you know it's raising billions for those countries who are in dire straits with covid vaccination?

You mean countries like India whose Government chooses to spend billions on space programmes as opposed to healthcare?

Roussette · 03/05/2021 20:08

(one if the reasons she didn't come back for Phil's funeral)

Errrmmm... she was heavily pregnant and advised not to fly by her Doctor.

Roussette · 03/05/2021 20:09

You mean countries like India whose Government chooses to spend billions on space programmes as opposed to healthcare?

Gosh. Is that Harry's fault too?

Mrsmadevans · 03/05/2021 20:12

You have answered my question , you have no proof .
Roussette · 03/05/2021 20:12

You've answered mine too.

Nor do you.

No proof for your wild assertion.

Thanks.

Mrsmadevans · 03/05/2021 20:16

Assertion
'a confident and forceful statement of fact or belief'
I did not do that l asked you a question.

artquejtion · 03/05/2021 20:18

@Roussette

It was a charity performance to raise money towards covid vaccines for those countries who need help. No one was paid, of course they weren't!

Do you think the Foo Fighters and JLo got a big fat fee? Or Ben Affleck and Sean Penn?

You are being ridiculous.

Actually, it is not so ridiculous at all to wonder if the speakers and acts were compensated.

Paying or reimbursing guest and invited speakers is very common for charity events. Having high profile celebrities attracts a wider audience, gives it a much higher profile, garners a lot more publicity and subsequently higher donations.

It is possible all the participants at this particular event waived their fees, and maybe some of them won't claim for expenses (travel, staff, security, lodging etc,). Normally celebs/speakers expect their expenses covered and sometimes they will donate their own personal fees as a charity donation (which is also tax deductible).
