Listening to a clip of him speaking at the ‘Vax’ event , he sounded like Gordon Ramsay. He seemed to be loving all the clapping and whooping,

As long as he stays fucked off over there, it's a good thing.

Roussette · 03/05/2021 18:14

I can't believe you woke up this morning saw this on the news and started a hate thread about it!

^ This. Like it or not, he was very very warmly welcomed. I'm at a loss how someone can knock him for this. Shows there's no hope with some people.

Along with the disgusting comment above.

Nohomemadecandles · 03/05/2021 18:17

Gosh, how awfully bitter & peevish you sound.

Roussette · 03/05/2021 18:17

At least Harry has helped to raise money, what have the others done except hide away really, maybe do a couple of zoom calls

No no! Andrew has set up a company to hide his finances with another sex offender. But I read today the RF have pulled the plug on it. So he has done that!

@rosetylersbiggun

It's hilarious watching the jealous rage that Harry and Meghan are thriving, happy and popular, from those who predicted they'd fall into poverty and obscurity and Harry would be forced to crawl back with his tail between his legs.

Harry and Meghan have made personal donations to all sorts of charities, mostly very privately and with little press coverage. Meghan gave £10k to a tiny charity in my DB's mum's town and it was kept secret for months. Recently a women's shelter in Texas was damaged in the huge storm and Harry and Meghan paid for their new roof. These are pretty random small charities, so it's likely there are many more donations that aren't public.

I guess Harry doesn’t have any money since his daddy cut him off...at the tender age of 37.
And William's how old and still taking money from daddy? Grin

Oh yes, @rosetylersbiggun

I remember that they enrolled Archie for a monthly payment for some dog charity.

And they also matched over 130K in donation when their supporters raised money for some charities. There was migrateful and I think there were more. So quite a bit actually in the last year for a couple who have a lot going in their personal lives with tot and pregnancies etc.

That is why I am always baffled by the narrative of them doing nothing here on MN.

Nesbo · 03/05/2021 18:49

So to sum up the OP

“I’ve been hate googling Harry because I used to love him but he left me for Meghan and now I feel distraught... and having Googled him I find my computer is showing me lots stories about him...which I’m totally going to be angry about as he is so in my face all the time on Google, and he abandoned me for Meghan and everything (did I mention that? I didn’t love him or have pictures of him though). Anyway, let’s all point and hate him...”

Was that about it?

Roussette · 03/05/2021 18:53

Just to go back to the thread title... I listened to his speech. No, he hasn't got an American drawl but he did say the word 'awesome'.
Lots of our family use that word.

Mrsmadevans · 03/05/2021 18:53

I wonder how much he was paid

Roussette · 03/05/2021 18:58

It was a charity performance to raise money towards covid vaccines for those countries who need help. No one was paid, of course they weren't!

Do you think the Foo Fighters and JLo got a big fat fee? Or Ben Affleck and Sean Penn?

You are being ridiculous.

Sadsiblingatsea · 03/05/2021 19:05

He’s pathetic.
Wonder how much he got paid for this.

OverByYer · 03/05/2021 19:06

I didn’t need to google Harry as desire him wanting to live a private life he appears in my news feed every day.

Read my post above

It was a charity event for a very good cause. No one got paid.

Pretty pathetic all those people doing something for nothing isn't it... how dare they

Roussette · 03/05/2021 19:08

I barely see him from one day to the next. Only on the hate threads on here.

cyclingmad · 03/05/2021 19:13

Well considering how things work nowadays your clearly clicking on articles related to him or about him, hence why it keeps sending you relevant content in your news feed.

Seriously have people not grapsed this yet about the Internet and apps etc. Everything you click on, search for etc. Builds up a profile of you and related content gets targeted to you.

This event has been on the main early evening news, so I think lots of people will have it appearing in news feeds just because of the prominence of the story.

It's not aimed for a British audience - UK is major (and was early) COVAX donor. It's about getting US to cough up more, something that is clearly a good thing. Pitching how he comes across to the target audience seems sensible tactic.

I dislike the characterisation of MN discussions as 'hate threads'. MNHQ delete posts (and entire threads) if they go to far. I do not think it is useful to characterise posters - most of whom have mixed opinion based on liking the people but disliking certain actions - as haters.

Roussette · 03/05/2021 19:15

Is that you, Omid?

You are so funny! and desperate

Has he been on MN for 17 years like me then?!

I'm laughing at your daft post.

Roussette · 03/05/2021 19:17

EdithWeston
I apologise. Just my frustration coming through.

Some threads last. With reasonable discussion

EdithWeston · 03/05/2021 19:19

Thanks Rousette

But there is hate. Or at least a very weird sense of being personally betrayed and abandoned by Harry, so anything goes.

If you can't see the spitefulness in some posts , that's your issue.

ConnieCaterpillar70 · 03/05/2021 19:25

The woke brigade of Hollywood looked very happy to welcome him into their world of self congratulation, happy clapping and word salad.

Viviennemary · 03/05/2021 19:27

For somebody who gets stressed by flashing lights he did well considering. Hmm

Mummy194 · 03/05/2021 19:30

............Considering there were no British media to slate his wife for nothing.

Anne1958 · 03/05/2021 19:33

What do mean by this?
