Has anyone else seen this on Instagram? It's so lovely and natural. Their PR camp are hitting the right buttons! The Oprah interview now just seems so trashy in comparison!

@Crimsonripple , yes a normal walk on the beach which is professionally filmed edited and published .

If they'd stood for a formal lose, everyone would have winged about that too... "It's too stuffy/formal ...it's not making them very relatable... Blah blah blah

@RoseAndRose yes I get that but most of us don't have that luxury and it just goes to show how much more privileged and lucky they are. Perhaps it wouldn't have grated so much of we hadn't spent the last year in lockdown and genuinely struggling so much financially, emotionally and with grief. But I just feel they could have read the room a bit better. However, loads of people on this thread seem to really love it so maybe I am just a curmudgeon. Still think it's tone deaf and all a bit Marie Antoinette.

Someone upthread has it spot on. The lockdown has really shone a light on how useless the royals are . More importantly it stopped the regular photo ops . Hence the relentless PR - I don’t think it’s working though . William and Kate’s PR is always off key.
Most people know when they are being manipulated.

Yeah, this is mostly what I was thinking about too. It’s really spoilt the brand for me.

It's a nice video but I agree it is very posed. The position of her hand to show the ring etc it's just not natural.
But who cares, it's sweet and the kids are very adorable.

I thought it was beautiful, but very placed. And very bloody boring in all honesty.

@00100001 don't know, really - maybe a bit of a montage of the last 10 years and all their achievements? Like their tours and charity work and maybe some snippets of family interspersed. That would link them to us the wider public a bit more, I think. Again I admit I am a total curmudgeon, though!

I would have gone for a few photos rather than a produced clip like this but I can see many love it.

Why be so nasty and petty? It's not a competition! It's telling that you started a thread about Kate and William but apparently only did it to get in a dig at the other two. I wish people would grow up.

I think they're very sensible in raising their kids mostly behind closed doors, and then controlling what the public get to see. And there has to be some positive PR after PP passed away and that god awful interview with Oprah. It's cheesy, and posed but they do all look happy and those kids are having the best life they can. That part of Norfolk is spectacular.

There was never any proof to the William affair rumours...... and Rose Hanbury still seems to be part of their social circle. Most blind gosips are to be taken liberally with a large pinch of salt.

I thought it was charming. The children are so sweet and seem so happy and well balanced. Hats off to their parents. I don’t know how anyone can be offended by it

Erm, nothing? I've been with DH over 20 years, I am typing this while we cuddle on the sofa, but I don't feel the need to share selected images of our life with millions of strangers.

Yes @MoChridhe the Meghan haters are so bitter and so petty and venomous they cannot talk about any member of the royal family without dragging Meghan into it. They are so obsessed with her they dream about her I believe.

They are selling their brand, and lifestyle. It is an aspirational clip wanting us to view them as the perfect family.

I like it but I like cheese :) can totally see other John Lewis families wanting their own videos as a keepsake, like how photos of babies feet seems some weird trend. It was a cute video though!

Kids are super cute too! Wonder if they’ll have more, wills and Kate are like the head boy and girl we used to have at school. Bit perfect but actually nice... well at least these two seem alright.

What is this talk about an affair.

I don't believe Kate could have hidden devastation at an affair. She was openly cold towards Meghan and Harry - she's not a very good actress.

Show me the money re the affair. There was no affair, just a gossip loving audience.

People love this. They knew people would love this. So they gave it to them. Why not. After ten years of being very cautious and refusing to parade their children about, I can understand why they might think it was time to give those who love this sort of thing a bit of a treat. That's what it is. A treat for those who love this sort of thing.
