They referenced his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were there.

Who were the great grandchildren present ?

IamnotH · 17/04/2021 16:40
@YanTanTethera123 I had the same thought as you, and would not be surprised if Harry is already on the way to the airport.
It makes sense for him to return tonight doesn't it? He was only here to attend a funeral, he really now should return home to his wife and son.

I'm glad Meghan couldn't attend. I suspect that she'd have been moved by the ceremony just because it must be so overwhelming plus pregnancy hormones plus worry of media scrutiny and then the press would have said she was acting if she cried more than the rest of the stoic RF.

Well that was remarkable. Not a royalist. Popped in to see if had started and as with loads of royal things watched astonished kind of awed by the beauty of it.
The ponies, the Queen all alone and very stooped now, her handbag the only thing next to her. Bloody hell. All bizarre. All astonishing. Very moving - lost both parents recently which will explain some tears no doubt.

AbsolutelyPatsy · 17/04/2021 16:44

Only four people in the choir, yet sounded amazing

topcat2014 · 17/04/2021 16:45

@LeibnizQueen

 • Edward's 2 - Viscount Severn (13) and Lady Louise (17)

Edward's children he is to be the Duke of Edinburgh so appropriate that they should attend and are old enough to understand it

AbsolutelyPatsy · 17/04/2021 16:47

user1471447924 · 17/04/2021 16:47

Edward is the Queen’s son...? So his children are her grandchildren too

LeibnizQueen · 17/04/2021 16:48

I don't think any great grandchildren were there !?

FedNlanders · 17/04/2021 16:48

Very moving I thought

Sparklingbrook · 17/04/2021 16:49

If I was Harry i would be on the plane ASAP. He's done what he came back to do.
It'ts true though that whatever he does it will be wrong.

IrishCharm · 17/04/2021 16:50

I watched it on sky news for the same reason (they wouldn’t shut up on BBC) - they stopped talking once the music started and didn’t really talk much after that

LemonViolet · 17/04/2021 16:50

I expect at least some of the great grandchildren were squirrelled away with nannies in various bits of the castle somewhere, especially the tiny babies won’t want to be away from their parents too long. So ‘there’ in Windsor but not in the chapel?
Whatnameisgood · 17/04/2021 16:50

Does anyone know who’s going to be living with the queen (family and friends, I mean) and supporting her over the coming weeks?

Chicchicchicchiclana · 17/04/2021 16:52

@ApplyWithin

Strange we didn’t even get a glimpse of the German relatives.
Yes, and I thought somehow disrespectful of the BBC. That rendition of For Those In Peril On The Sea was perfect.
BlessedDD · 17/04/2021 16:53

Incredibly moving - so beautiful.

Felt as a human to another so sad for HM The Queen. I also liked the fact that the interment of the coffin was not filmed.

BlessedDD · 17/04/2021 16:54

As in as the coffin is lowered into the vault. I wonder if HM would get to say another goodbye?

Quite possibly what they meant.

2004bestyear · 17/04/2021 16:54

Edward's children are his grandchildren not great grandchildren

JanFebAnyMonth · 17/04/2021 16:54

She’s been surviving “alone” at home whilst Phillip was in hospital for a month and presumably not very near him whilst he received terminal care. And for all we know periods prior to that when he was quite ill.

He gave up doing royal engagements a few years ago so she’s only been accompanied by other royals or Ladies in Waiting etc for many occasions.

AbsolutelyPatsy · 17/04/2021 16:54

I think Edward and Sophie may carry on being supportive

IamnotH · 17/04/2021 16:54

Her and Prince Phillip didn't live together in the traditional sense for a long time. It's not like my Nan and grandad who were joined at the hip.

So neither of the new mothers were in attendance?
