The royal family

Lady Colin Campbell says it was Princess Anne who made the comment

There was a lot of speculation who made the comment after Harry and Meghan's Oprah interview.

She says it wasn't a racist comment. The family were concerned about Meghan in general and it has been twisted by Meghan and Harry.

I don't think Meghan and Harry are on Lady C's Christmas card list. 😲

How would that crass gossip know what private conversations the RF have. Silly woman.

diddl · 31/03/2021 14:32

Is anyone other than Harry known to have made a racist comment?

DogsSausages · 31/03/2021 14:35

She claims a palace source told her, what good will come out of it, she and her source will never be trusted again whether it's true or not.

Mummy195 · 31/03/2021 14:37

William made people blackface for his Savage Zulus party and said don't worry we won't be eating crocodile. Then he blacked up for the Natives party. He also told Africans they are overpopulating having too many DC, while he was expecting a third child himself.

He then invited the Obamas to his lounge where he has an offensive slavery / colonial picture hanging.

Then there is Princess Michael and her brooch when meeting Meghan for the first time. And the time she told black Americans to go back to the plantations.

GloriousGoosebumps · 31/03/2021 14:49

I'd be very surprised if it was Princess Anne. I think it's much more likely that she's "taking one for the team" in an attempt to shut down the very damaging speculation which has continued for weeks and shows no sign of abating. By not naming the Royal who made the comment, Prince Harry and Meghan have given the Palace the opportunity to take control of the narrative and it's better for the Royal Family if Princess Anne is the culprit rather than Prince Charles or Prince William. Add in the fact that they have appointed a law firm to investigate racism and they may be able to change public opinion. At least until the next interview given by prince Harry and Meghan.

pabloescobarselasticband · 31/03/2021 14:51

Lady C was one of the first to reveal all about Diana, not Andrew Morton. She clearly does know what she's talking about if you read her book about Harry and Meghan, released before all the dramas hit the newspapers! I would put money on it this is completely true.

dworky · 31/03/2021 14:59

@Tartyflette

Lady C is a self -appointed royal 'expert'. Nothing more. Goodness knows why anyone listens to a word she says.

Do you have any proof of those allegations about Prince William @Mummy195 ? I never heard any of that before. That would have created a hell of a stink had it been reported.

Princes M of K, is a notorious racist, OTOH. The “blackamoor” brooch when she met MM at that Christmas dinner was clearly completely deliberate. The restaurant incident in NYC she said something about “the colonies” in reference to being seated near African-American customers. She is complete scum. I was expecting the culprit to be her, TBH, if there really was racism.

Him and Princess Michael of K. So far.
1forAll74 · 31/03/2021 15:21

I don't think the comment about Archie's skin colour was a racist remark,I think that Meghan was saying it as a sympathy card for her.Harry seemed to just nod in agreement with her, and did not say much about this, He has to agree with her all the time.

Years ago, my late ex Husband remarried a couple of years later, and we decided to remain friends, He married a West Indian woman, and eventually she became pregnant. On one of his visits to see me and our two children, he was wondering himself, what the forthcoming new babies skin colour would be. His wife was quite dark skinned,, and my ex who was white, and had very fair skin, and fair hair.

It was just a question that people asked him quite often, as a matter of interest. and nothing racist at all. If some people hadn't considered or thought about a mixed race child at all, it was just a question, wondering how the new baby would like, and who would the child take after etc..

midsomermurderess · 31/03/2021 15:23

No one is going to have any 'proof' about anything on a thread like this on a site like this. It's all idle gossip, and therein lie the fun.

Heyha · 31/03/2021 15:44

I still can't understand how anyone would look at M&H and expect them to produce a child with a 'problematic' (implied by Meghan in the interview) skin tone, given that she is fairly fair skinned dual heritage and how, well, bright white with ruddy bits he is. I think any comment about combining their genes would be more likely to revolve around hoping their child wasn't ginger to be honest!

For that reason alone I struggle to believe the comment was even made, particularly with the racist undertone as suggested by Meghan.

Well if you’re going to accuse people of blackface etc, yes you need proof.

I am happy to provide links to news articles about Princess Michael’s outrageously racist antics, and so, because that proof is available, I will cheerfully reference it without fear of being sued.

RickiTarr · 31/03/2021 15:52

TBH, I think we just need to be told now what Harry thinks was said, who allegedly said it and what that person’s account is.

Let’s get it all out in the open and find out of there are racist senior royals or not. If there are, they should go, just as Trudeau should have been made to stand down.

Samcro · 31/03/2021 15:58

i have heard of Princess Michael's racism. but not PW.
so I do think a link is needed.

Mummy195 · 31/03/2021 16:15

If you google you will find them.

Here is some :

It was this party, but you will be able to access the clear blackface pics in the DM.

The overpopulation comment was at the Tusk Dinner.

You can quickly find Harry stories, I'm sure you can find Williams too. Just google.

Yup, this makes sense. Public sentiment is mixed about Charles and Camilla. It doesn't sound particularly plausible from Edward, Sophie, William or Kate. Andrew would have been a decent scapegoat as he's an outcast now. Anne is quite well regarded, so blaming her wouldn't damage the RF much.

I did google, before I asked you. I couldn’t find anything about PW & black face. If he is guilty of that I would really like to know.

All of those links reference an “Out of Africa” themed party with fancy dress for PW’s 21st which doesn’t sound a great choice, but you’ve made allegations beyond that, so could you possibly help us out and tell us where you got the information?

Oldbutstillgotit · 31/03/2021 16:47

@ Mummy195 I have looked at the links but can’t see the photos you have complained about .

No that was a tone deaf choice, it has to be said. Maybe they thought hiring an African band made it okay, but it does reek of clueless, insensitive, posh boys.

I’d still like to know if PW really went further and did a Trudeau, though.

Mummy195 · 31/03/2021 17:05

No, the pictures were not of W blackface, his friends. But this was his request for the party.

He is however, described as having looked for a Zulu tribal outfit, and they did not have it - this usually includes a spear and shield. He took leopard skins and wore a black leotard - which is him being a Zulu warrior. As usual, it was covered up for W, but somehow a 'friend' leaked H nazi outfit which was the Afrika Korps division - the guardian said he had no sense of irony was his problem. I don't have time to trawl through the internet right now, but I will find it again one day.

The links have the Zulu outfit story and the crocodiles comment.

Overpopulation problem is he was addressing a room full of Africans

www.instyle.com/news/prince-william-speech-overpopulation-backlash

Its possible for the DM to have taken down the pics that show the blackfaces properly, but someone will still have them on the internet. I definitely remember those.

SpanishImposition · 31/03/2021 17:06

I can’t see a picture of William in blackface? Or actually of his friends but even if his friends are dumb enough to do that, they aren’t him... Prince Harry literally himself called someone a paki and dressed up, himself as a Nazi. I’m sure his friends are equally over privileged and tosser like but he did it! I want to know where Prince William himself was racist. Or are you trying to find a comparison that isn’t there?

Oldbutstillgotit · 31/03/2021 17:09

Ok so PW didn’t blackface but his friends did however you can’t provide a link and seem to be the only person who has seen them ?
