Harry appointed senior exec at $1bn startup

Just seen that Harry has been appointed Chief Impact Officer at a billion dollar valued Silicon Valley startup.
This feels so unfair. I know people who have worked for years first qualifying then gaining experience in their field, without a hope of a job like this. Harry of the 2 A levels and zero formal work experience outside of the army. He can bleat about the hardships of privilege all he wants but he’d never get near a job like this as a private “normal” citizen.

I just wish *Impatiens" you'd stop insulting me and calling me deceitful and and saying what I post 'stinks', false pretences and all the other stuff you throw at me.

It's unpleasant and really unnecessary.
'She' - the foundation they set up. What's so bad about me saying that? I'm not trying to make something up and you twist every single thing I say and make a huge drama out of it.
It's not deceitful but in your head where you follow me round trying to catch me out and stick one on me. Please stop.

I could pick at a lot of what you say but I don't because I never want to make my posts personal and insulting. Unlike you.

Funny that no one else picked up about she, them, the foundation, donating money, but you.

I politely ask you to stop. I respect you and your views even if I strongly disagree, please do the same with me.

Roussette · 27/03/2021 21:37

I answered the 'what comment were you expecting' in great detail, by the way.

RickiTarr · 27/03/2021 21:38

I think Harry is more one of those irritating, inept panto characters, if anything. Screwing everything up for the other characters because of vanity or greed or stupidity. But I hate panto so I can’t think of any examples.

GoLightlyontheEarth · 27/03/2021 21:51

@ImpatiensI

Normal people can be complicated but pantomime villains must always, always be motivated by self interest, greed, or a desire to harm others.

See, that would wash if H&M didn't keep behaving in ways so clearly motivated by 'self interest, greed and a desire to harm others'. People haven't just pulled this stuff out of the air, it's right there in front of our noses in what they say and do.

So true
Samcro · 27/03/2021 22:13

Going back to the thread and away from the goading pa's
Isn't it it always the case of its not what you kniw but who you know.
So many people only have careers because of who their parents are. Some turn out to be good at what they do like say kate hudson, then you have the beckham kids!!
Its always been this way.

ImpatiensI · 27/03/2021 22:34

That's absolutely true @Samcro, it certainly isn't confined to H and actually I don't begrudge him any money he makes. Just as long as they stops pretending they're somehow more virtuous than all the other types who use their connections to line their nests with gold.

Lauren15 · 27/03/2021 22:52

@Roussette

Wouldn't it be nice if once, just once, someone who really dislikes them said... yeah, that's a nice thing to do.

Sometimes there are posts on here which I agree with that talk about something stupid they'e done or which is daft, puzzling, irritating, whatever..
I agree with quite a lot of what the middle of the road posters say. And I tell them so.

Never seen it in return. Not ever. The dislike of them supersedes anything which is actually good, OK, or just not bad.

I thought the work she did with the Grenfell tower kitchen was good. I even bought the book! I have said so on many threads.
AngelicaElizaAndPeggy · 27/03/2021 23:03

Christ, can't believe people are still so invested in this. Of all the injustices in the world right now, the goings-on of two minor royals is what you spend your Saturdays anonymously wittering into the internet about. You all sound like some kind of awful Charlie Brooker talking head parody. What's the point of all this whingeing?! Ironically about two minor royals whingeing?! They aren't going to vanish into thin air once Trish in Bedford posts her 10,000th comment about Archie's dubiously-timed birth announcement.

If you want to get angry about royals, then Prince Andrew is right there, hiding in plain sight while Meghan is front and centre, being slated for having the tenacity to be mentally unwell in a supposedly unacceptable way.

But yeah, fling insults around the internet about a pregnant mum and her husband and their flawed publicity strategy. In fact, why not grab a pitchfork and a few flaming torches while you're at it.

ImpatiensI · 27/03/2021 23:15

Personally I never get tired of hearing people ranting about the fact that other people are talking about something they disapprove of them talking about.

AngelicaElizaAndPeggy · 27/03/2021 23:25

@ImpatiensI- well yes quite. The Daily Mail has trained them well.

Lockdownbear · 28/03/2021 00:18

AngelicaElizaAndPeggy
These two opened themselves up to public scrutiny, with a scripted interview full of half truths. If you and act like a soap opera, then people will talk about you.People are bored and we are in the middle of lockdown.

People lacking in water cooler chat are seeking other avenues for that 2mins of gossip.

ImpatiensI · 28/03/2021 02:09

Actually .Angelica I was referring to ranting posters like yourself, sorry!

We forked out a lot of money for these two wingeing idiots so I think we're allowed to complain about them as much as we like.

Feel free to start your own thread about Andrew.

Quite😁

Piers Morgan - obsessive man still whinging & vengeful about being ghosted years ago. Unable to let go, even though his job let go of him.

Sharon Osbourne - sacked from The Talk Show

Splash News - took pictures of Archie at private residence. MM sued, Splash News lost case.
Result:- Bankrupt

Mail On Sunday & Mail Online - forced to print front page apology to MM

MM is more than a match for racists, sexists and other assorted oddballs furiously coming up with ever more convoluted posts and reasons for hatred of her and her husband.

Farcical.

It'll be at puce-faced spontaneous combustion levels soon😂

MrsHookey · 28/03/2021 06:26

At least he won't be standing up on that balcony with us paying for him, like the rest of them.

MrsHookey · 28/03/2021 06:37

@AngelicaElizaAndPeggy you raise very valid points. I do wish people would stop fulfilling tabloid briefs of hounding this couple. I'm sick too of seeing "news" that celebrities think xyz about them. The endless diatribe against Meghan is racist. I'd like the woman to enjoy a peaceful pregnancy and have her baby safely, rather than deal with this constant hounding.

MrsHookey · 28/03/2021 06:42

And good point @AngelicaElizaAndPeggy that Prince Andrew is not expected to be accountable or face questions about his behaviour or associates, even though the American authorities wish to speak to him.

didofido · 28/03/2021 07:40

I agree Prince Andrew is a nasty piece of work, and was even before the Epstein business, but even he is entitled to "innocent until proven guilty".
And if there is sufficient evidence why hasn't he been arrested, or at least interviewed under caution?

Roussette · 28/03/2021 07:54

f you want to get angry about royals, then Prince Andrew is right there, hiding in plain sight while Meghan is front and centre, being slated for having the tenacity to be mentally unwell in a supposedly unacceptable way

This

Unfortunately not much happens on threads for Andrew, I have many a time resuscitated past ones, but they don't get that much traffic.

And to my mind, on the M&H threads posters are forever regurgitating old stuff about the couple, yet aren't bothered about Andrew's history and the past. And there's a lot.

Bottom line there is not the appetite to discuss Andrew that there is to dig up stuff on M&H.

Maybe this will change when Ghislaine Maxwell goes on trial this summer.

merrymouse · 28/03/2021 07:58

This article is about the King of Sweden’s decision 2019 decision to remove grand children not in the the direct line of succession from the Royal Household. He is a similar age to Prince Charles, but of course can make this kind of change because he is the actual King.

www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-49958085

I wonder how many RF problems are caused by the fact that there are 3 adults sort of doing the top job, but 2 of them can’t make decisions and only 1 of them is below retirement age. It must make communication difficult.

merrymouse · 28/03/2021 08:01

Bottom line there is not the appetite to discuss Andrew that there is to dig up stuff on M&H.

It’s interesting that there isn’t more outrage, but I suspect it’s because he isn’t doing much so the media is ignoring him.

Cannotgarden · 28/03/2021 08:02

@Ritascornershop

I’d have so much more respect for the lot of them if even one of them got a proper job. Became a nurse or a vet or an accountant or ... something! At least William had a proper job for a bit, but wouldn’t it be nice if a younger royal had a job that normal non-aristos have?
A postman would be ideal. Get out, see the community, rebrand as the 'royal male'
Roussette · 28/03/2021 08:11

merrymouse Yes I agree.

Not much going on, yes...

Ghislaine Maxwell has petitioned for the original photo of PA and Guiffre. That is in the US press.

BP have maybe managed to quash that story over here.

merrymouse · 28/03/2021 08:31

Sorry, I’m wrong, he is in the news (not sure if this is web only)

www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-9409437/Prince-Andrew-seen-horseriding-two-female-companions-Windsor-Castle.html

There is no part of that article that isn’t completely barmy.

MrsTreglowan · 28/03/2021 08:43

I think constant hounding of a pregnant woman is abusive and the media deserve every law suit they get and then some, they exhibit disgusting behaviour as do some folks online.

Roussette · 28/03/2021 08:45

🤣
I couldn't resist looking even though I normally avoid DM links.

Very pleased to see they mentioned the daffodils. And loved that PA was referred to as 'she'.
