Harry appointed senior exec at $1bn startup

Just seen that Harry has been appointed Chief Impact Officer at a billion dollar valued Silicon Valley startup.
This feels so unfair. I know people who have worked for years first qualifying then gaining experience in their field, without a hope of a job like this. Harry of the 2 A levels and zero formal work experience outside of the army. He can bleat about the hardships of privilege all he wants but he’d never get near a job like this as a private “normal” citizen.

they also use a PR bot army to influence opinion

Which is why those who are gullible enough not to realise that thought their interview had rocked the monarchy. Then once the dust settled and the overwhelming public opinion outweighed the bots, it was clear what many though. Australia and the U.K. in particular were on a similar wavelength but it’s now clear that in America, their target audience, the interview did not go down as well as they hoped or wanted.

Do they listen to PR Teams or are they very badly advised? I have to believe that they didn’t listen to the Palace PR Team because it is so good. However, it’s possible their American one just isn’t reading the British public mood well. Must admit, I suspect they just don’t listen because nobody in PR should be going along with an interview of lies that the media and public can predominantly pull apart.

Well, Prince Harry being recruited by a think-tank wasn't on my list of predictions for 2021.

DateLoaf · 24/03/2021 21:10

I’m just excited what he’ll announce tomorrow! Grin
Comedy in the news article about the announcement where it confirmed this would be a part time role. Well, no shit. It’s his third job!

A part time role😅. An unnecessary clarification.

It’s not one of his relatives birthdays or the day a birth is likely to be announced tomorrow, so he’ll probably keep quiet.

Many, many start ups pay six-figure sums to “well-connected” people, to turn up 1-2 days a month, meet prospective investors, and generally attract cash.

In London, these are generally extremely posh public-school educated men in their 50s, with a background in some kind of banking, who have access to other rich people. In DH’s last start-up, it was a knighted multi-millionaire who could invite VCs up to his lovely Scottish estate for some grouse shooting of a weekend. As far as I know, that is the extent of his domain knowledge/contribution to the company. But he brought in millions of pounds in funding from his rich mates, so very much paid his own .

I wonder if this will work with Harry tho or if he's burnt too many boats, stabbed too many people in the back and is too arrogant to be able to schmooze?

Marmaladeagain · 24/03/2021 22:35

I imagine the amount of staff they regularly have to replace and interview and reassure is enough to keep them very busy indeed. No time for a job.

It's a revolving door of staff leaving, NDAs and solicitor wrangling whilst trying to smile and welcome the new member of staff in through the "happy" door.

Basil Fawlty would do well as their new head of staff.

rosetylersbiggun · 24/03/2021 22:48

LOL the bitterness and jealousy dripping off these posts is giving me LIFE.

Harry is incredibly popular everywhere outside the UK, and is certainly very popular with people who actually know him. The only people who hate him are bitter racists and Daily Mail readers.

It's so so so amusing to see Harry and Meghan happy as larry, living their best lives with all their squillions of dollars and eagerly looking forward to a new baby, while the haters froth and stew and let Meghan live rent free in your heads.

Oh and it's William and Kate who go through staff like clean knickers. Objective fact: more staff have left the Cambridge household in the past three years (including a staffer fired during her honeymoon, one not allowed to come back in the way she'd been promised after she'd had a baby, another who ran to the Mail about how mean Kate was, and two who left top jobs after a worryingly short time) than left the Sussex household, and that includes tabloid editor and professional leaker/backstabber Jason Knauf and his "fired for gross misconduct" girlfriend Melissa Toubati. I guess that's why William and Kate are too busy to do any work, or remember to wear masks! LOL.

rosetylersbiggun · 24/03/2021 22:54

Isn't it interesting that since Harry and Meghan left, absolutely all the tabloid leaks have stopped? Not a hint of what they are doing gets out, not even rumours, until it's time for things to be officially announced by the companies in question.

Proves Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace are just big leaky sieves.

Both the RF and the tabloids must be shaking with fury (just as the posters here are shaking with fury lol) that they no longer have access to leaks.

It's impressive how good Harry and Meghan are at ensuring that nothing ever leaks. They must inspire deep trust and loyalty in their team, and how nice for them that they finally have a team they can trust, rather than employees constantly stabbing them in the back and selling stories to the tabloids about them.

Marmaladeagain · 24/03/2021 23:11

www.spectator.co.uk/article/prince-Harrys-new-job-is-hardly-about-public-service

"Whether or not they actually believe this, the couple are constantly trying to present their lucrative deals as an extension of their professed love for public service. And so Harry nabbing a cushy job advising a firm that flogs life coaching is recast as an opportunity to ‘change millions of people’s lives for the better’.

In all this we are reminded that Harry and Meghan, in leaving the monarchy, weren’t so much kicking against the old establishment as itching to join the new one – a trendy aristocracy that manages to extract both moral purpose and vast wealth from peddling politically correct twaddle. Well, it's nice work if you can get it."

That nails it for sure : vast wealth from peddling politically correct twaddle. It is bizarre that some imagine others jealous of things that they don't like or respect - very little imagination.

I don't like preachy hypocrites, I don't like people that insult others intelligence and accuse others of racism regarding royal protocol.

I haven't come across anyone with any respect for Harry, they tolerated him previously and tried to feel that affectionate acceptance for the class clown, but all that's gone. I certainly have never heard of anyone being jealous of them Grin that has to be one of the most funny accusations. First everyone was racist and now they're jealous - too funny.

It's great to hear that the US still think he's great, he burned his bridges here so it's just as well.

Yes it's fascinating that when you focus on H instead of M, people can't pretend it's all about being racist anymore so they have to try something else - but just end up sounding like ranting loons. LOL!!!

@SoWhyNot and @dateloaf - I'm sure whatever date you will find something - let's face it. There are many many royal birthdays, anniversaries, events, as well as lots going on in the world so not very insightful but your prediction can easily be manipulated to suit your narrative. Does this mean you are gearing up to be the first to start yet another let's bash H&M thread on the next announcement ! Perhaps you and others could start a thread about the event H&M are supposedly trying to eclipse next time and focus your energy in diverting the focus away from them. Eg. There is a thread about Zara T,s baby but very few comments and I doubt from the many who bang on about them thread after thread overshadowing the birth / announcement 4 days later or even Eugenie's birthday are on that thread Hmm You could just ask MN to copy and paste the comments from This thread to the next one.

MarleytheDog · 25/03/2021 04:22

Apologies. I haven’t read the responses to the thread (It’s far too time consuming).

All I can say is “Well Done Harry! You can pay for your own security now. The British taxpayer have no interest in funding your lifestyle. But I guess you have recently learnt that” 🤷🏻‍♀️

DeeCeeCherry · 25/03/2021 04:35

Dumbed-down envious gossips being racist about MM and bitchy about her husband.

Nothing 'fascinating' about weeks of posts and threads droning on and on wishing ill and hoping to negatively affect 2 people's lives.

Mean girls on acid.

Racism and bitchiness aren't mutually exclusive. Nasty, ugly traits tend to go hand in hand.

It is and looks stupid. Even the faux "LOL!"

OverByYer · 25/03/2021 07:01

See it is a proper job. He’s been busy posting motivational quotes on Instagram

self-awareness the irony.

merrymouse · 25/03/2021 07:13

Whether or not you take a side on this, it’s obvious that nobody in the royal family is ‘living their best life’ at the moment.

Bluegrass · 25/03/2021 07:27

Some people seem to reacting almost as if Harry is an ex boyfriend who dumped them.

Not so long ago he was the superstar royal, more charismatic and more popular than William. Now people are writing bitter diatribes about how he’s always been awful, just jealous of William, yadda yadda...

It seems obvious that they’ve taken it all really personally and are now overcompensating. By the looks of some of these posters, given half a chance they’d be in his wardrobe cutting up his suits.

picknmix1984 · 25/03/2021 07:28

I wonder who else applied for that job?....Oh wait!

ODFOx · 25/03/2021 07:37

Affable man with very high profile gets job where the essential requirements are affability and fame shocker!

Good for him.

Roussette · 25/03/2021 07:39

All I can say is “Well Done Harry! You can pay for your own security now. The British taxpayer have no interest in funding your lifestyle. But I guess you have recently learnt that”

@MarleytheDog You are way way behind the times here. The british taxpayer hasn't been paying for it since they moved to the US.
However, do feel free to get angry about Andrew (he's a non working royal) his security, £3million a year. Where's the outrage for him?

Isn't it interesting that since Harry and Meghan left, absolutely all the tabloid leaks have stopped? Not a hint of what they are doing gets out, not even rumours, until it's time for things to be officially announced by the companies in question
So agree with this.
Poor old Daily Fail, just picking up the crumbs and working damn hard to make it into a clickbait story.

OverByYer · 25/03/2021 07:42

I’d have had far more respect for H if he’d gone off to live a quiet life, took a job with a charity that did some good rather than with a wellness company supporting those in well paid jobs.
He has shown himself to be shallow and a hypocrite.
It’s great entertainment though. I’m hoping he pals up with fellow montecito neighbour Orlando Bloom. That will be such fun.

Roussette · 25/03/2021 07:43

@Bluegrass

Your post is spot on. Yes! It is the angry ex! How dare he leave me even though he wasn't happy (he should have stayed in the country however unhappy he was). How dare he start a new life (I'm going to spread massive rumours and talk about him incessantly with anyone who will listen) How dare he be with someone else (I will trash that woman forever)
