Anyone think they are going to call the baby Diana? I think they possibly could... The Americans would love it.... Palace not so much... Win win...

Anna would be nice and a nod to Diana. Also goes well with Archie.

Dongdingdong · 22/04/2021 22:15

I think Daisy Diana

Really? Those names don’t go together at all!

DoreenWinkings · 23/04/2021 01:05

@ajandjjmum

Bet the new baby will be born on either 10th June or 1st July! Grin
It'll be the 4th July. Such is the force of Meghans will, she can almost certainly evict a baby on a date of her choosing. Also, she's probably a witch. Or something.

She and Harry will celebrate by rocking up at Boston Harbour and chucking in a box of PG Tips, to signify their independence from the English.

It will be magical.

What about Philippa as a nod to Prince Philip?

Maybe a bit close to Royal wannabe Pippa “I have an arse” Middleton (I don’t know her married name, sorry).
Whereisthewarmth · 23/04/2021 10:04

Lilly Diana.

Maggiesfarm · 23/04/2021 10:27

It would be nice if they did name their baby, 'Diana'; it's a lovely name. However they may have other ideas. Who would have thought they'd call their son, 'Archie'?

Cheeryblossom1 · 23/04/2021 10:27

@whereisthewarmth I'm thinking it may be Lily too... Matilda would tie in with their Australian tour nn Tilly, I don't think the first name will have Royal connotations similar to Archie Harrison, they'll choose what they like...
Alyssa or Elise are popular girls names in the U. S right now...

wombatspoopcubes · 23/04/2021 13:16

Diana loved her sons and probably would have felt very honoured if one of her grandchildren was given the same name. Some posts read as if Harry shouldn't be allowed to call her Diana despite she was his own MOTHER.

Bluntness100 · 23/04/2021 13:24

I could see it being Diana, but think it would be better for the child to have it as a middle name.

I can see them doing something arch in it, or well in it, to match Archie and their archwell foundation. So that it relates ro both kids. Wells is a girls name in its own right and gaining in popularity.

SOLINVICTUS · 23/04/2021 13:32

Princess Charlotte has Diana as one of her middle names.
I don't think they'll repeat it, or go for anything traditional. With this generation, the only ones to stick with traditionally used royal names have been William and Kate. For obvious reasons.

Bluntness100 · 23/04/2021 13:45

I don’t think there’s any way rhey won’t use the name Diana, it’s really just a question of if it’s first or a middle name.

As said, as they habe the arch well foundation my monies on a link with that for the first name, so it’s linked to both their children and not just Archie .

Heatherjayne1972 · 23/04/2021 18:03

They may well have Diana in there somewhere - can’t see it as an issue
After all both William and his son George have Louis as a middle name. They still called the little one Louis

ImAncient · 25/04/2021 08:38

Maybe Artemis? She’s Greek goddess identified with Diana.

Grace then.

RubyViolet · 25/04/2021 11:18

@Cacacoisfarraige

I’d read that they’d registered Gracewell so perhaps Grace. I’m sure Meghan has asked if Diana had a girls name picked out ? Allegra I think. That could generate some good publicity
I think Allegra is a good call. It was the name Diana had picked for Harry if he was a girl.
Samcro · 25/04/2021 11:36

Grace would be nice.
I doubt if they would have Diana, maybe as a second name.

@MrsTabithaTwitchit

Marigold and hope she will ?
Love it!

Was going to suggest Phillipa in remembrance of the D of E. But isn't that Kate's sister's name? Maybe a no-no then

niveaessential · 25/04/2021 16:26

my bets on an A name like Alice or Anna.

Archie Rachel Charles Henry Elizabeth WELL Grin

covers all the important people lol

Spudlet · 28/04/2021 10:52

Artemis would be a pretty name. She was the Greek goddess of the hunt, and Diana was the Roman equivalent, so it’s a nod without being on the nose (I think calling a child Diana would be a bit of a burden tbh - all those comparisons to be made). Also very posh, a bit different, goes nicely with Archie.

They can thank me later Grin

MrsGusset · 29/04/2021 08:45

The Artemis Goog cartoons make the choice of that first name extremely unlikely!

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 29/04/2021 08:52

Artemis is too Upper Class for them I would have thought anyway. And if Harrison as middle name was chosen as play on 'Harry's son' goodness knows what they'll come up with for a DD - something of a play on one of DoSussex's names?

Just had to Google that. How bizarre. Confused
