Anyone think they are going to call the baby Diana? I think they possibly could... The Americans would love it.... Palace not so much... Win win...

Possibly a trendy American name like Madison as was suggested upthead.... Don't think they'll choose a typical royal sounding name like Victoria, Alexandra, Matilda or Elizabeth. Someone also suggested Daisy, that would be super cute for a summer baby... However my few quids going on Diana...

Hmm my prediction would be Lily.

RootyT00t · 10/03/2021 21:51

I've never heard anything so ridiculous.

They will pick a trendy name because Meghan is American.

Okdoke.

SleepingStandingUp · 10/03/2021 21:56

@minniemoll

How on earth does anyone remember when a royal pregnancy was announced! I couldn't even tell you Harry's birthday, much less when they made the initial announcement Confused
It was mentioned in press articles
Lindy2 · 10/03/2021 22:25

I was just wondering if they'd go for something "unique" like a mix of Diana and Doria but then I realised it could end up as Diaria. Hmm

Perhaps Doriana instead.

Inkpaperstars · 10/03/2021 22:34

I kind of like Doriana Grin

I could see them using Diana as as first or middle name, but I just have a feeling they will opt for a first name a bit more modern/US influenced/casual.

partyatthepalace · 10/03/2021 23:09

God I hope not, poor girl.

MammabearX1 · 10/03/2021 23:16

Harriet shortened to Hattie?

Diana Doria = Dido?

Backstreetsbackalrightdadada · 11/03/2021 00:04

A total boss move would be to go for Elizabeth Diana Doria (you heard it here first! Unless a pp has already said it!). More power to them. They still seem really keen on QEII and would solidify that link.

MintChocAddict · 11/03/2021 00:48

Betsy Doria Spencer Mountbatten Windsor? A wee nod to Her Maj but also cutesy like Archie.
If you're reading Meghan, you're welcome Wink

whatisthislifesofullofcare · 11/03/2021 00:53

Hari

donewithitalltodayandxmas · 11/03/2021 00:53

Harriet shortened to Hattie?
Like that
Im sure it will be something we won't think off , I love the name Archie though think that was a great choice

Kokeshi123 · 11/03/2021 05:43

They are clearly carving out a life in the US, so it will be something that works well in the States and not a "royal" name like Mary or Adelaide. Not Madison or Brittney, though--they are kind of dated in the US right now. Maybe something slightly modern-casual like Pascale or Paige or Manon or something like that.

Homebird8 · 11/03/2021 06:33

I think there might be a little Margaret on the way. Meg is one of the shortened forms and Princess Margaret was to an extent in Harry’s shoes as the spare to the heir as a child.

IrmaFayLear · 11/03/2021 10:13

It certainly won’t be Victoria - far too Empire.

And some people are living in a 1980s US world, suggesting Britney et al. That’s the equivalent of saying that a popular name in the UK today is kylie.

SmallPrawnEnergy · 11/03/2021 10:21

@MrsMackesy

Ah. Being used as another opportunity for some to snipe at Meghan. How sad.
Yup. Between this and the Kate arsekissing thread MN has really proven itself to be as vile as it’s reputation.
ThankyouPeter · 11/03/2021 10:26

Rhianna is a kind of Doria / Diana mix but I don't think they will go for that. It will absolutely be a name with meaning and probably something that means strong or powerful. Archie is an anagram of Rachie although that may be a coincidence as she doesn't use that name. Also they have named their foundation Archewell after Archie. I don't know about anyone else but I wouldnt want my second child to feel less important. It's possible that Rachel could be in there somewhere as it is contained in Archewell. Properly overthinking this aren't I!

Theunamedcat · 11/03/2021 10:30

Henrietta? Harry's real name is henry after all so maybe that would be nice?

nevertrustaherdofcows · 11/03/2021 10:34

Ariel !!

JustLyra · 11/03/2021 10:36

I think it'll be something that starts with M. They've clearly said they're not going to have any more and I remember an interview with her once when she talked about a watch (I think) that was one of the first expensive pieces of jewellery she bought herself and it's engraved with "To MM from MM".

Probably off piste, but I remember reading the article and thinking that if they ever have a girl her name will start with an M

Wondermule · 11/03/2021 10:37

The cynic in me also wonders if she delayed the announcement so she could announce it just after Eugenie had given birth...

MrsMackesy · 11/03/2021 16:04

This was me, but I thought H&M might add a first name with those three as middle names. Maya would be lovely, after Angelou, or Lilibet - instead of Elizabeth - as it is HMQ's family nickname from her late father.

Sadly, @SmallPrawnEnergy , I think MN is just representative of society as a whole at the moment - the good, the bad and the ugly. Flowers

YoniAndGuy · 11/03/2021 16:11

Liberty Diana Doria Windolena (to signify being able to see clearly at last) ShakeNVac ( fresh starts) Sussex

YoniAndGuy · 11/03/2021 16:17

That’s not meant to get at them btw- just being silly on a name thread!! No sniping here - feel a fair bit of sympathy for them.

Margaret - Meg - yes that’s a possibility. Maybe too close to Meghan.

Agree Diana will be in there.
