I think Harry has a lot to answer for in this whole debacle. He's a 35 year old man brought up as a Royal who should know how the whole thing works and how to ensure his wife is fully educated in the rules and regs. of being a Royal. She was his wife, why on earth was she going to HR at the Palace for help with mental health problems? Harry has loads of experience and the knowledge of where to get help, what on earth was he doing? Harry knows full well that there is a rule about not being given a royal title when it comes to Archie. Why didn't he explain this to Megan? It has absolutely nothing to do with Archie's skin colour. Why is Harry moaning about having their security removed given his father paid £4m for their security after the tax payer stopped paying after they moved to California?
It is not the Royal family's decision whither or not someone has The Metropolitan Police fly over to do security duties.
Prince William sorted the press out when they were making disparaging comments about Kate, why didn't he put his foot down as his brother did?

Working for charities won't pay the bills, nor will podcasts, and definitely don't expect the RF to bail them out lauren because there is no chance of that now. That truly is for the birds.

I suspect Andrew felt he had no choice other than to divorce after his wife was photographed in a compromising situation which was the front pages of the tabloids. They appear to get on very well and amicably. It’s certainly reasonable to assume that they have reconciled but it’s never been confirmed although Royal Lodge is big enough to live in without bumping into each other so who knows.

I’m not sure the Sussex titles will be appropriate in that situation. I also think that Harris is likely to be the prominent leader of the Democrats for quite a long time and she has a lot of support.

Who knows what they were thinking as it seems to be hard to fathom for the majority. The interview did seem very at odds with their compassion and kind mantra. I felt the interview was damaging for their image.

There's quite a lot about them which is contradictory. Like all this about wanting financial independence, then actually still wanting funding.

It's a shame that there has been public hurt feelings with relatives.

M&H have massively burnt bridges. Also it's so weird to have a message about spreading compassion, then do an interview where you show anything but compassion to your own family.

I haven’t actually watched the interview but was really bored this evening so watched the ITV documentary about it. I was so struck by how contradictory and illogical many of the things they said were. For example saying they were cut off financially when their statement said they wanted financial independence. I also couldn’t believe the lack of self awareness as well. Everything that went wrong was someone else’s faults. There was no admission from M that anyone who moves to a country struggles and perhaps she should have given it time. Also what was wrong with googling the words to the National Anthem? Did she expect them to summon someone from the Royal Opera to coach? When you are reduced to complaining about trivia, it suggests there really wasn’t that much to complain about.
As for the wedding dress story, oh fgs. Did anyone really think twice about it? Weddings are stressful and people fall out. Kate had just had Louis so that probably didn’t help. She was likely hormonal and tired. Bringing this up again makes me think M has a real grudge against K. I think that’s what will make it impossible for the brothers to reconcile. I’m sure W is furious at it being brought up.

I think the bigger problem coming down the track once this has all died down is how H&M are going to create and sustain the kind of income they will need to live the lifestyle they have bought into. They have sunk so many ships with the interview, you have to wonder what on earth they were thinking. They will now not be invited to the kind of high profile events with senior RF that would appeal to broadcasters and the American public, they may never be invited again even to a low key gathering with the RF. They will no doubt become persona non grata. So once they have wrung out the dollars for this bombshell, maybe covered the Diana story/childhood angle again they have very little left to offer. The US will move on to the next big hot thing, and I can see them really struggling.

Many Americans and brands love the Queen and RF and may not be keen to have the Sussex brand anywhere near them after this. I can see a big financial fall out coming from their decision to air their dirty laundry quite so spectacularly. It is now already yesterday's news, and I don't know how it could ever be worth it. There true and only value is their connection to the Queen, and now that has gone, perhaps forever.

@Itsalonghaul I really believe they will be fine and unlikely to be destitute any time soon. I expect that things will get better and better financially for them as Meghan whether you like it or not knows how to make money! And Harry too will Never be poor as he still has his own wealth plus family wealth on both his mothers and fathers side. Their children will Also be provided for very well. Sadly the only thing I see that could go wrong is the marriage and that's because of the scrutiny and pressure they and the media put themselves under rather than a lack of love or commitment from either. I can imagine some MN's will be rubbing their hands in glee if that happens but I really hope it doesn't and they continue to build their beautiful family and progress.

I'm old enough to remember the day the story hit the Sunday papers - I was staying at a holiday house with my sister and family and friends. My BiL bought every single Sunday paper (it was, of course, long before the Internet), so no one knew anything about it until we opened the papers that day. We were, of course, agog. Some of the headlines were very funny (unless your name was Sarah Ferguson). Presumably Fergie and the RF didn't have advance notice either. I'd give years of my life to be a fly on the wall at breakfast at Balmoral that day, with all the family confronted with the morning papers. Fergie was sent packing in disgrace the same day, the Duke of Edinburgh refused to be in the same room as her for many years (I'm guessing he swallowed his principles for the sake of his grand daughters at their weddings).

For all the scandal about Andrew and the 17 year old I have heard other stories that he was more interested in golf than sex, and Fergie had an appetite..... I think in his mind, Andrew stayed the 22 year old Falkland war hero and didn't notice the age difference, but there's no evidence of him being a serial predator. He still loves jokey Sarah - take a look at their TOE CURDLING engagement interview - they bonded over a food fight at a dinner party. They remain best friends and probably still enjoy the odd food fight. And Fergie benefits from getting to live at Royal Lodge.

Some people think, and I am one of them, that they will remarry after the DoE passes on. Or maybe they will wait for the Queen. But I think they will remarry one day.

A few years ago just before the Epstein stuff came out. I thought Fergie was slowly making her way back into the fold, she was at Harry's wedding. I can't remember if she was at William's.
I think if the Epstein stuff hadn't came out they'd be remarried by now. There was certainly noises as William has had babies pushing Andrew down the line to the throne and after Louis birth he no longer needed the Queens permission to marry (or remarry).

Someone mentioned the Queen bailing out her mum, there's a difference between bailing your loving mum who's supported you, and bailing out your mud throwing grandson and wife.

I don't think the RF will bail H&M out. I read Charles bought them their house but I don't think he'll keep throwing money at them, esp not after the last few weeks.

When Meg googled the National Anthem, God knows why she never asked her DH, do you think she learned ALL the verses that nobody sings?
