The royal family

Do you think Oprah didn't ask the right questions.

Lots of subjects were spoken about but I felt that Oprah could have asked for further information.

What questions do you think she should of asked.

My question is to Harry 'why didn't you get Meghan help with her MH if you are a loving husband'

I would have liked Oprah to have asked Harry what he meant by "she's not black or anything, you know" which is what he is was said here to have said about Chelsy.

Harry should have addressed his racist past before going on to make a founded accusation against a specific member of his family instead of an unfounded one without naming anyone. It doesn’t lend credibility when Harry himself is known for repeated racist incidents.

the80sweregreat · 14/03/2021 18:35

The one who was ' concerned' over his potential son or daughters skin colour would only have spoken to him , there will not be any record of it anywhere? I can't imagine this would have been put in an email ( for example) or has he taped the conversation?
They have many more hours footage of this interview too. What else has been said about his brother or his dad?
How can an independent enquiry uphold any claims of racism towards Meghan without any evidence?
It'll be fascinating to see how it plays out.
The bullying claims will also be looked into.
If there is evidence there, it could be tricky.

My late mil had NPD. She could twist anything to make herself look good.
I had thirty odd years of her behavior. It was exhausting. So many issues she had from childhood.
I feel for anyone living with them. They never change :(

Bunnyfuller · 14/03/2021 18:44

Er.....because it was a completely scripted and agreed agenda. And there WILL have been payment, somewhere. Just not through routes open to scrutiny.

Harry forever bust his relationship with his family? Meghan alienate herself so irrevocably (which is so sad, because she seemed to have more of the humour and softness that Diana portrayed). They’re retracted so much of what they said, only hinted at other things. Money. They never expected to be completely cut off.

Whoopsmahoot · 14/03/2021 18:52

Major ones I would have asked would have been about her family - all questions were about the windsors and nothing about hers.
Why is she estranged from everyone in her past? Family, friends and work colleagues?
Also, if you’re that desperate for privacy why Netflix deals and photo opportunities? They seem to crave publicity for a couple who want privacy.

2bazookas · 14/03/2021 19:00

Meghan said she didn't google Harry or do any research into what life in the royal family is about.

Apparently Oprah didn't either.

WaggishDancer · 14/03/2021 19:01

@2bazookas

Meghan said she didn't google Harry or do any research into what life in the royal family is about.

Apparently Oprah didn't either.

The problem is that by targeting so many people with the interview, they are now having everything they said pulled apart and it’s largely not true with evidence to back it up.
the80sweregreat · 14/03/2021 19:06

She 'lost ' her dad.
She can find him now as he only lives 70 miles away! She won't though

Fireflygal · 14/03/2021 19:41

Why didn't Oprah ask...."you said you hadn't considered Netflix or other deals until your finances were cut off so why were you touting for voice over work for Megan with Disney CEO, 6 months before you said you were leaving?

It was so cringeworthy and crass.

missbridgerton · 14/03/2021 19:57

I can't imagine that the Portland Hospital is too thrilled either that Meghan has verbalised that she wasn't able to access any sort of pre-natal mental health support............ especially given one of their consultants Dr Lucinda Green is a specialist in the field.

pabloescobarselasticband · 14/03/2021 20:30

Oprahs interview was a joke! She didn't really question them on anything.

MrsTabithaTwitchit · 14/03/2021 20:47

I would ask them what outcome they wanted for the interview and on what basis they would judge its success.

In addition to those questions already suggested
I might also ask why the Duchess wrote a detailed blog on her now defunct website about the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding .

Also where the money came from to pay back the money for Frogmore Cottage .

Blueberries0112 · 14/03/2021 20:58

She is not allowed to speak to her dad anymore because everything she says will go straight to the press. I think I seen someone explained this. The RF don’t trust him, I guess

WaggishDancer · 14/03/2021 21:05

Of course she is allowed to speak to him. She has chosen not to do so. Whether what he says goes back to the press or not, we don’t know since she hasn’t spoken to him since the wedding. I can understand her being wary about him repeating things but it’s inaccurate to say she is not allowed to speak to him.
Stoppissingonmyheather · 14/03/2021 23:16

@WaggishDancer how do you know? How does anyone know anything really it's just opinions

WaggishDancer · 14/03/2021 23:21
@WaggishDancer how do you know? How does anyone know anything really it's just opinions
If so, why hasn’t she said that considering what allegations she has aimed at the royal family?

Foxhasbigsocks · 14/03/2021 23:28

These would be mine:

Do you think you could have done anything differently to avoid so many staff leaving your employment in your time as a working royal?

I’m confused as to how you say you found the negative attention almost unsurvivable but also say you weren’t reading any of the press about you?

What are your views on the British public and their attitude to you, given your low popularity ratings?

Do you think you could have done anything to change the public’s view of you?

Do you understand the reasons why the public feel the right to comment on the actions of the RF, given that they are funded by the public purse?

Did you understand the disapproval of your spending and use of a private jet?

How did you square joining the RF with your Democratic convictions and having grown up in a Republic?

Kimye4eva · 14/03/2021 23:41

@Netaporter

I’m no H&M fan and I think they’ve lost grip on reality doing this media interview given that there is a pandemic going on...but I do wish people would not speculate about Charles not being his Dad at every opportunity.. Below is a copy of Paris Match showing the DofE in 1957 next to a pic of Harry. I don’t think there is much room for doubt he is a descendant of the DofE...Wink
That’s amazing! Not seen that before.
Kimye4eva · 14/03/2021 23:48

Doesn’t everyone have their own truth?

I thought your own truth/our own truth was an interesting turn of phrase. Surely it’s just “the truth”?! If it’s the truth it’s the truth for all concerned.

SozzledSausage · 15/03/2021 00:55

It was such a weak interview. Lots of great question suggestions on this thread.

I do think Harry will come to regret this interview.

I am very doubtful that the marriage will last. A few years down the line, Oprah will be interviewing Meghan on her own. Next time it will be about the Royal Family and her dreadful marriage to Prince Harry.

Ching ching!!!! $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Number3BigCupOfTea · 15/03/2021 01:04

yeh, that was a show not an interview.

avamiah · 15/03/2021 01:07

SozzledSausage,
Totally agree with you about the marriage not lasting .
In my opinion I thought it was very strange that Oprah was invited to their wedding, I mean she didn’t really know her ??
I know this sounds awful but I don’t think she would of give Harry a second look if he wasn’t the Queens grandson.
Just my opinion .

Midlifemusings · 15/03/2021 01:09

It wasn't an interview at all. It was a jointly planned and prepared opportunity for Meghan to create a narrative for herself, likely as the foundation for her next projects. Based on the interview I would guess those projects will probably be about race (racism) and supports for mental health. She can bring her 'personal story' and 'lived experience' to her work.

GrimDamnFanjo · 15/03/2021 01:31

They would never have agreed to do a real no holds barred investigative interview...

avamiah · 15/03/2021 01:40

But I don’t get it, what are “They” looking to achieve from that interview ??
And was it so critical that it had to be aired when Prince Philip is still in hospital ?
What do they want ?
That’s my question
