The royal family

Do you think Oprah didn't ask the right questions.

Lots of subjects were spoken about but I felt that Oprah could have asked for further information.

What questions do you think she should of asked.

My question is to Harry 'why didn't you get Meghan help with her MH if you are a loving husband'

I was on her side at first and I still am about a lot of it. However, until she addresses how Harry had done a lot things or sees the other side of the coin, then nobody will get anywhere
Once the money dries up, once she discovers his issues will never be resolved then she'll discover he isn't who she thinks he is.
He can't hob nob with people like Beyoncé .People who have earned their own money and did it the hard way!
I urge people interested enough to read the transcript . It makes more sense written down,
I hope they find freedom, I'm just sad it's taken the country down for her to get it.
I'm angry how they went about their revenge on Kate and Charles, especially Harry.

@Teardrop2021

I mean they complain about money and being cut off and she there wearing a 4 grand dress alone.
Yes. Tone deaf.

It does, yes, which is why I linked it on a couple of threads

It also avoids relying on folk who insist (sometimes incorrectly) that they said or didn't say such-and-such if we read it for ourselves

I know I'm over invested in this but if people want to read it I found it easier to understand their point of view. It takes away the emotion. I'm on the fence really. I'm sad and angry about a lot of it. Revenge. A lot of it was about this too., Harry is a very sad and damaged individual.

I think Oprah gave them the platform to talk and that was the agreement in advance. It was never going to be a hard hitting investigative interview. And Oprah is more than capable of doing a hard hitting interview. She’s a shrewd bird that you’d not want to mess with. Not soft.

So the interview was exactly what was agreed. A platform for them to say their piece. They didn’t want to be interrogated or to have to justify their comments, they just wanted to say what they wishes to say, unchallenged.

Fair enough, but they have thrown everyone under the bus! They know the Royals can't answer back in the same ways.,It was spiteful. I do take your points, but the inconstancies are there to see. That's what makes it hard. It's done now, but the fall out continues and it'll become even worse, I fear especially as our press won't let it drop now either. It is all so sad and maybe could have been avoidable.
Lostinacloud · 14/03/2021 14:25

It’s really worth re-watching their engagement interview on YouTube. So many inconsistencies in her Oprah answers in there. Nothing but gushing about the kindness and support of all members of the royal family, how Harry had a few conversations with her before they got too serious to make sure she knew what she was getting into and also how apparently she was totally happy to give up her career and focus on her new challenge together as a team with Harry.

the80sweregreat · 14/03/2021 14:25

Yes, the engagement interview was completely different.

YorkshireIndie · 14/03/2021 14:40

I would have asked why is PH moaning about only having his inheritance to live off when his father stopped paying for him when they made a big song and dance about wanting to be financially independent when they announced they were leaving

MummyJ12 · 14/03/2021 14:43

I agree with all lot of the posts on this thread. It seems as though Oprah has been used in their propaganda. The interview was not balanced. H&M are clearly not well and they seem full of bitterness, resentment and vengeance. It’s such a shame. Harry wasn’t questioned about his misdemeanours in the past Hmm Meghan wasn’t asked about how she managed to get on so many breaks and holidays without her passport. Including a baby shower in New York, not long after she would have asked for help regarding her mental health.
It’s a sore point for me, my 13 year old son is massively anxious and depressed. I can’t get him to come out for a walk with me at the moment, never mind jumping on a private jet and going to a massive over stimulating baby shower in New York. She’s a really good actress to have looked so happy.

Bazinga007 · 14/03/2021 14:51

I think Oprah asked the questions she was asked to ask.

I think you will have to look how other members of the Royal Family get treated when they step down or reject titles.

No one seems to complain they are leaving the royal family

GoLightlyontheEarth · 14/03/2021 15:36

There’s some interesting coverage in the Sunday Times today. The Palace are getting an independent external firm to investigate the bullying claims against Meghan. There are obviously a lot of Palace staff who want to speak out and some damaging stuff that has been covered up. (Damaging To Meghan).
Also questions about Charles having continued to finance them after they left until they found their feet.

This is their fight back! I don't think Meghan and Harry will know what's hit them, :( American's are keen on litigation. As well as security he might need lawyer fees now too I would imagine :( ? Hmm

I agree. Also I think accusations being automatically believed is dangerous.
Carl Beech made a lot of accusations of various various public figures until he was exposed as a fantasist
There was a thread on here on which everyone rushed to defend him - ‘of course he’s telling the truth. It’s a well known fact that Tory politicians have murdered several children’.
The damage it did to the falsely accused families was serious and irreparable.

the80sweregreat · 14/03/2021 15:55

Well, having an independent enquiry is a good idea now.
Let's hope it's impartial.

IrmaFayLear · 14/03/2021 16:02

The ruling about the Daily Mail and the letter indicates that they have influence.

I was thinking, M said she was “silenced” by the Palace. So why does she want others to be “silenced”? Doesn’t everyone have their own truth?

Thisbastardcomputer · 14/03/2021 16:07

It was very lame, all prearranged I'd say, best part was his grumbling his Dad had stopped his spendo at 36 years old

the80sweregreat · 14/03/2021 16:07

She was silenced , because this is how they operate and Meghan didn't understand this.,
All this is about lack of communication and not realizing what it all entails being a Royal.
Harry is to blame here ( again)

ImAncient · 14/03/2021 16:15

I don’t think comments like this are helpful.

There were lots of comments from some people that Justice Warby would not be impartial side with the Mail as the Sussexes had left the royal family.

First & foremost duty is to the court & not your client. If there is ever a conflict the court wins.

Oprah was never going to challenge them. Harry spent 18 months working on his AppleTV project which was co-created and executive produced with Oprah (it's on the Sussex Royal website). Puts the whole "interview" in a new light, doesn't it?
Puzzledandpissedoff · 14/03/2021 16:20

TBF we can't know for a fact that he was ... after all, a certain Mr Burrell might well suggest that squashing a case to keep someone out of a witness box isn't unprecedented for the RF

To be clear I'm not saying this is what happened, simply that we'll never know the whole story

JanewaysBun · 14/03/2021 18:14

I'm most baffled by him apparently saying he wanted to live in the US as the UK is too racist... you know that US that he will now have to teach his mixed race son how to safely exit his car without being murdered if he is pulled over for having a blown head lamp.Hmm

I actually thought it was great they are getting away and and making a life for themselves but Now they seem to be making bank about slagging off their family Hmm

WaggishDancer · 14/03/2021 18:22

I am sure Oprah said and asked what had been agreed, as the interview wouldn’t have gone ahead otherwise. Also, it wasn't an interview; it was purely used to make many unfounded and many completely incorrect allegations against the British people and their monarchy.

I have some sympathy towards them but it was the wrong platform and the wrong things they said.

If you google, there is a very interesting series of videos by HG Tudor who states Meghan suffers from NPD and puts across the interview from her perspective (it’s not a criticism of her) and it’s a very interesting viewpoint. It’s not how someone without NPD views what was said.
