Do you think Oprah didn't ask the right questions.

Lots of subjects were spoken about but I felt that Oprah could have asked for further information.

What questions do you think she should of asked.

My question is to Harry 'why didn't you get Meghan help with her MH if you are a loving husband'

I am not saying she didn't have mental health issues, really only she knows if she did. I found it odd while pregnant she wanted to hurt herself like Diana. Is she trying to be his mother?

Malteser71 · 10/03/2021 00:17

That’s a very good question.

Lots of parallels. He thinks she’s his rescuer. He felt his mother’s presence. He compared her success in Australia to his mother’s.

The latter is an interesting point. His mother really was captivating on many levels, to a much greater degree than his wife. He doesn’t really get this - he wasn’t even born during the Australia tour of 1983. But still he draws the parallels.

YourWinter · 10/03/2021 01:23

One thing that stood out to me was Harry's emphasis that they would have one of each (a boy and a girl). Princess Anne already had a son and a daughter. Could there have been some suggestion or insinuation that his parents would have preferred a daughter? Could he have felt that his position as the second son was a worse one than he might have enjoyed had he been a girl?

MarsandPluto · 10/03/2021 01:24

Regarding your titles, why are you a Duke and Duchess of a place that you don't even intend to visit?

Why are you covering up for a racist within the Royal family? If you don't want to name the person you claim has made a racist remark, why bring it up in the first place -is it because you are not telling the truth or do you just like hearing your own voice?

Yes , I think she is modelling herself on Diana, no question. He is caught up in all sorts of unprocessed emotional pain from his mother’s death and I think she plays into that . Whether consciously or unconsciously is another question.
MangoFeverDream · 10/03/2021 05:05

Oprah is not a journalist. Her background is as a talk show host.

I do wonder if Oprah’s team had to run those questions by H&M or if the value of appearing with Oprah meant that she had more control. If the latter, she did a terrible job.

Rainbowdino · 10/03/2021 05:17

I wanted to know more about her father & that situation. Can’t believe there wasn’t one Q!

Netaporter · 10/03/2021 05:21

I’m no H&M fan and I think they’ve lost grip on reality doing this media interview given that there is a pandemic going on...but I do wish people would not speculate about Charles not being his Dad at every opportunity.. Below is a copy of Paris Match showing the DofE in 1957 next to a pic of Harry. I don’t think there is much room for doubt he is a descendant of the DofE...Wink

Do you think Oprah didn't ask the right questions.
Champagneandmonstermunch · 10/03/2021 06:34

I thought Oprah was bloody awful, talking over them, interrupting and just not giving them chance to formulate their thoughts and speak.

joystir59 · 10/03/2021 06:42

Harry has those awful too close together royal eyes. Definitely Charles son.

hamstersarse · 10/03/2021 06:51

I’d like them to have been asked...

What was specifically communicated to you about the allegations about Prince Andrew? Were you expected to cover it up?

Did your fall out with William start when he was allegedly unfaithful to Kate? Was this why you feel unsupported when it comes to the press? That he was supported to quash that story in no uncertain terms while Meghan was told to sit tight with the annihilation by the press that she was on the receiving end of? Almost like a diversion tactic?

ThePawtriarchy · 10/03/2021 06:52

I didn’t really understand what they were saying about Australia - I’d have liked Oprah to ask them to expand on that. It sounded like they were saying that they did a good job and that the palace was unhappy with that - which makes no sense? Or did they mean the press?

DianaT1969 · 10/03/2021 06:57

To Harry - I understand that together, you were worth around £10 million. Why didn't you plan to spend some of your money on security for Archie? Privately paid security for your children would have been required whether you stayed in the family as a senior working Royal or not.

LApprentiSorcier · 10/03/2021 07:09

H&M see their future in the USA and have clearly written off the UK as a lost cause. The interview was part of their 'brand building' - there was a long plug for 'Archewell'.

The USA is in the fortunate position of not having a Royal Family, so I would suggest the average American is far more likely than the average Brit to accept what H&M say as authoritative.

As a pp said, Oprah is renowned as a talk show host, not an investigative journalist. Her skills are in getting people to open up about emotional issues. Drilling down into every fact would be contrary to her remit because her usual audience wouldn't find factual detail very interesting.

It's worth noting that Oprah did challenge Harry repeatedly when he spoke of feeling 'trapped' - I sensed that she might have heard a tiny violin playing at this coming from a wealthy, unimaginably privileged white man.

bluebluediary · 10/03/2021 07:16
  • It's well known that Prince Charles wants to slim down the monarchy - isn't that the explanation for Archie not being a prince?
  • Why do they think the British taxpayer should fund their family security abroad when they've chosen not to be working royals and are both very wealthy?
Malteser71 · 10/03/2021 07:24

Re the Australia tour.

His mother referenced this in her Panorama interview. They went on tour and she was a huge success (I’d say a phenomenal success) and the firm didn’t like it because she was overshadowing Charles. All true.

When HandM drew the parallel, they were saying she overshadowed other senior members. I don’t agree, personally. I think Kate is much more like Diana in her elegance and her knack with people.

But Harry is absolutely blinded by Meghan.

ValpolicellaPrimitivo · 10/03/2021 07:37

Why didn't you give Archie a title that's he's entitled to as the son of a duke, why is it a prince or nothing?

Do the royal family really call Sarah Ferguson Fergie like you've just called her?

Beatrice and Eugenie don't get public paid for security as non full time working members of the royal family, why should you?

You seem to contradict yourself about the story of the baby's skin tone. Was it before you were married or while Meghan was pregnant?

Why on earth would you do no research before joining the royal family? Surely that's your responsibility as well as everyone else's to help you settle in.

IrmaFayLear · 10/03/2021 09:04

I was reading the opinion of a PR mogul who said that it was all completely scripted. The Harry bit, less so, but he was only wheeled on for a short segment as he probably can’t be trusted to learn his lines....

Lovelydovey · 10/03/2021 09:12

It was a pre planned and scripted interview where Meghan and Harry had a narrative to get across (which they’d clearly told Oprah in advance). She only asked questions which helped them deliver that narrative.

FuckingFabulous · 10/03/2021 09:40

-why, Meghan, are you claiming these conversations were held about your baby's skin when you were pregnant, when Harry has just said it was one conversation that took place before you were even married?

-if "Megxit" was being spoken about and planned by the two of you for two years, yet you left the U.K. less than two years after your wedding, is it not true that you actually never wanted any part of being a Royal and instead always sought to do this?

  • Meghan and Harry, you've both made it clear that as a royal, you've no voice or right to even correct people saying inaccurate and hurtful things about you. Why are you both doing it to Harry's family right now?
  • Harry, why didn't YOU get your wife some help with your millions of pounds?

-speaking of the millions of pounds you have, it's no hardship to have to use them to support your own family at 36. Why do you think your dad should continue to fund you even after you left the fold?

  • Harry, you're well aware of the protocol surrounding titles. Why haven't you made your wife aware?
FuckingFabulous · 10/03/2021 09:43

Also- why did you leave all your family out of your wedding, Meghan? Why are they all vocal about being badly treated by you?

Did you bully staff? Why have there been stories about it since you moved into Kensington palace?

Why did the two of you announce your pregnancy on eugenie's wedding day?

Meghan, are you jealous of Kate and of her children?

Harry, do you need help? Blink twice if you feel your wife might be a raging narcissist.

hoodathunkit · 10/03/2021 09:45

Given Oprah's significant promotion of sexually and financially abusive cults, including yoga cults such as 3HO*, I don't think that she would ask the questions I would like to ask.

The questions to Meghan are as follows;

Can you please let us all know about the lineage / school of yoga that Doria teaches?

Can you please let us know about the lineage / school of yoga that you practice?

Could you please share a little information about why the lineages / schools of yoga have been kept under wraps so far? I ask as I am someone who reseearches cults, including yoga cults, and I am left feeling ueasy about the secrecy around this issue.

Can you please share information about your and Harry's interest in "grounding" (walking barefoot to help you connect with the Earth's invisible energies).

Can you share where you first were insired to live "authentic" lives, to say that you are "not just surviving but thriving" to "speak your truth" and other new age / New Thought movement tropes?

Can you please share some of the wellness themed authors and people of influence who inspire you?

Would you be prepared to put your considerable influence and public profile to the cause of exposing yoga, new age and wellness cults involved in various crimes including entryism, institutional capture, sexual crimes against children and vulnerable adults?

I ask the final question as a person who has survived sex trafficking and torture and who would genuinely like to secure your assistance in this issue. It would mean a lot to me, much more than you writing "inspiring" messages on bananas.

Thanks

  • just google "Oprah" and 3HO, she is all over their websites.

Also a search for "Oprah" on the Cult Education Institute website has 622 results, which can be found here:

This was no naive 19 year-old following a fairy tale that everyone around her encouraged her to buy into. This was an experienced woman, who was already living the life she wanted to live.

If I had a failed marriage behind me already, I'd have been very cautious about what I was getting into next time around, that's if I got married at all. For a divorcee (no judgement about that intended), well into her thirties to claim that nobody told her what her life would probably be like if she married a senior member of the royal family is completely disingenuous. She failed to make it her business to find out and married him anyway That is down to her and nobody else.

IrmaFayLear · 10/03/2021 10:34

Harry, if you were being “on” whilst meeting members of the public, and only smiling on the outside, was that true of your mother too? Do you want to tell all the people she met and helped that it was all an act?

BedknobsNoBroomsticks · 13/03/2021 09:33

A Mumsnet interview would have been 100% better than the Oprah one.

I would have asked Harry all the above questions aswell as challenged him on why he thought it was a good idea to wear a nazi outfit?

On this one rare occasion I am on Piers Morgan's side. I don't believe the stuff about Meghan struggling with her mental health and not being allowed to get help.

Harry saying that his family cut him off was hilarious. He sounded like a spoilt child. Not a man in his 30s who has his own family.
