The royal family

Do you think Oprah didn't ask the right questions.

Lots of subjects were spoken about but I felt that Oprah could have asked for further information.

What questions do you think she should of asked.

My question is to Harry 'why didn't you get Meghan help with her MH if you are a loving husband'

‘I thought she came across as boring and completely self absorbed’.
‘Was he really in the army? He’s a complete wet’.
‘Mark my words, that marriage won’t last’.

“Why did they reject Earl for Archie“
She probably felt it is pointless if she has to expose her child because he has a royal title but protection.
It’s like making your child an superstar without the pay or protection, I guess. It doesn’t mean she wants her child be denied.

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 19/03/2021 12:45

She did have police protection at the time though. Only as they become less important does that drop. As not needed in the UK unless deemed a risk at anytime. It was only moving abroad that changed that.

Blueberries0112 · 19/03/2021 12:52

It doesn’t matter what we think, she obviously feel it is not the best for her child for a reason. I am guessing it would require more exposures and protections than she already have

ImpatiensI · 19/03/2021 13:01

Because the Earl of Dumbledore or whatever the title is sounds like an elderly man with egg down his jumper. 'Prince' sounds glamorous and continues the fairytale theme.

Purplekitchen · 19/03/2021 13:14

I was Shock at Meghan referring to "Kate" and "Fergie" and even more so at Oprah calling her Kate Middleton instead of the D of C.
FFS do your homework, she hasn't been Kate Middleton since 2011.

ImpatiensI · 19/03/2021 13:16

People still refer to MM as Meghan Markle tho?

MrsTabithaTwitchit · 19/03/2021 13:32

I think that is a bit cultural though, both of my US SILs have kept their maiden name , one has added my brothers name and this seems to be very common so I would be Mrs Tabitha Twitchett husbands name . They were both shocked that my and sister had completely dropped our maiden names ( actually still use mine for work )

ImpatiensI · 19/03/2021 14:10

Perhaps that's why Oprah referred to KM? I wouldn't have thought she'd want to be intentional rude.

PetuniaButterworth · 19/03/2021 16:42

I suspect that Oprah and Meghan referred to them as Fergie and Kate Middleton so that the viewers in the US would know immediately who they where talking about. I'm surprised at Harry calling her Kate although I think Sunshine Sachs has had a number of briefings with them prior to the interview on what to say and how to say it.

ImpatiensI · 19/03/2021 16:50

Surely it would be normal for Harry to call her Kate?

I assumed it was just a way of putting them down. I mean, Meghan was billed for the interview as the Duchess of Sussex so bizarre that the Duchesses of York and Cambridge weren’t afford the same acknowledgment.

Cath is what Harry has always called Kate

So it does look like they may have been poking sticks

Ah ha, the plot thickens!
Blueberries0112 · 19/03/2021 19:39

Everyone calls her Kate

StartupRepair · 19/03/2021 19:44

I think they were using the tabloid names to help their US viewers keep up.

In fairness, the whole thing was aimed at an American audience because their popularity is at an all time low in the U.K.
GoLightlyontheEarth · 19/03/2021 22:41

I can’t believe anyone in the family calls Sarah Ferguson ‘Fergie’. Also the Cambridge’s have been very firm that Kate is to be called Catherine. It struck a false note.

Scoobydoobywho · 20/03/2021 04:46

Harry why do you at 36 years old think that your Dad should fund you, especially when you have a multi million pound fortune of your own? Megan, considering Catherine had given birth a month before you got married. How pregnant was she at the dress fitting when she made you cry?

IrmaFayLear · 20/03/2021 12:46

I agree that using “Fergie” sounded odd. The rf, including Harry, wouldn’t have used that name. And if M, as she claimed, knew nothing about them she wouldn’t know that nickname.

I think that really showed that the interview was heavily scripted.

Number3BigCupOfTea · 20/03/2021 19:16

Yes, was that for the American audience? Would they not recognise the name Sarah Ferguson

SoWhyNot · 20/03/2021 20:12

Or know her as the Duchess of York.
Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 20/03/2021 20:18

I like that the royal family returned the insult. They address the pare as Harry and Meghan instead of the Duke and Duchess in the public statement. Now that was class come back. No way would they normally do that in an official public statement.
