A while ago I was speaking to a psychiatrist (a woc, incidentally) who said she thought there was something very wrong with the pair of them.

Ninjava · 02/10/2020 17:39

Trevor Philips didn’t.

IrmaFayLear · 02/10/2020 17:40

On a trivial note, does H look as if he’s had some Botox? His forehead seems very smooth...

When you have no debate, do you always have to say such vile and nasty things things to people?”

Scobie could have spoken to them about anything, not necessarily information for the book. For all we know they could have discussed what to have for lunch

The assertion is clearly not that. If it were, it would make everyone involved look really daft, which, to be fair, seems to be happening regardless.

Mummy, Ninjava has not said vile and nasty things?

Ninjava · 02/10/2020 18:00

I also said something to the effect that I didn’t find Scobie’s denials to be credible but that comment has been deleted. It was maybe a bit rude to those who do believe him 🤷🏻‍♀️

IrmaFayLear · 02/10/2020 18:01

Perhaps mummy195 is more youthful than some of us and consequently not familiar with certain expressions. I was reading that a significant proportion of millennials did not know the terms “bonk” , “sozzled” , “nincompoop” and “cad” amongst others. My dcs shake their heads when I use certain phrases and sayings. Expressions seem to be on the “to be cancelled” list now.

This does NOT say they collaborated with this book. !![/quote]
It doesn't deny they collaborated either, though. The essential bits of the author's note on this, say: "The events described in these pages draw on hundreds of hours of conversations and interviews with more than 100 sources…We have spoken with..the couple themselves".

Also, given Omid Scobie has recently been caught out telling lies, and the finding in the court judgment that he is very close to Meghan's core team, an inference can definitely be drawn that the denials around Meghan's level of participation in Finding Freedom might not be reliable.

AnneOfQueenSables · 02/10/2020 18:25

@Mummy195 I didn't say you had mentioned the race of people on MN or that you accused everyone of being similar to UKIP. That wasn't directed at you and that's why you weren't tagged in my post. It's been noticeable over the last few days that some posters are coming from a place of assuming everyone who disagrees with them is white.

You did seem to be using UKIP screenshots to imply that somehow justified the actions of the Sussex Squad so that part of my post was in response to you. imo UKIP supporters and the Sussex Squad both indulge in abusive behaviour on Twitter and there is no excuse for abusive behaviour regardless of where you sit on the political spectrum.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 02/10/2020 19:01

there is the judge’s document where he said ”there is evidence to support the defendant’s assertion that the claimant’s side have been energetically briefing the media” with a reference to it being ”very likely” information was given to Omid Scobie

This is the bit that keeps coming back to me. We all realise that the Mail's interest lies in attracting clicks and shoring up their own case, but the judge has no articles to sell and probably doesn't give a stuff what the media says about him

In other words he has no skin in the game beyond the legal issues, yet still he's made the quoted remarks. Strange, perhaps, that so few comment on what he said ...

froggygoneacourting · 02/10/2020 19:07

It's been noticeable over the last few days that some posters are coming from a place of assuming everyone who disagrees with them continually and habitually engages in racism-denial; dismisses or downplays BIPOC posters' experiences of racism; uses double standards to discuss black and biracial people; seems personally affronted by other people suggesting that racism exists and is a problem; believes that being accused of racism is far worse than actually being a victim of racism; has an automatic knee-jerk reaction where they feel it's their duty to defend accused of racism even if that person is Trump or they don't know a single detail; and have reputations for being habitually goady in threads about race-related issues, is white.

FTFY Grin

AnneOfQueenSables · 02/10/2020 19:16

I'd have thought your deleted posts would have made you more familiar with the MN guidelines froggy. But it seems not.

If I was arguing that someone had written an unauthorised fiction about me, I probably wouldn't continue to use them as an unofficial spokesperson. I'm surprised H&M's lawyers haven't pointed out that it's poor optics.

Try "sick" (good), "tubular" and "gnarly" on them. It opens up a whole new vista on the world Hmm

Usually fixed it for you but clearly not in froggy’s case!
OVienna · 02/10/2020 20:23

Tubular and gnarly were Valley Girl words, back in the day, in the US. What Moon Unit Zappa, the high priestess of Valley and pathfinder for "younique" celebrity names, could have achieved with Instagram....happy days....

ajandjjmum · 02/10/2020 20:27

Then why would he have found the need to include it in the Author's Notes?

Considering what has been struck out of the court case so far, Judge Francesca Kaye has allowed ANL to add the “further particulars” of the book to its defence because she believes it’s merited. I wonder whether or not people will accept the legal decision over whether H&M collaborated or not.

Harry could announce on global news that MM collaborated with the authors and he would be called a liar

MNHQ. Question for you. The expression “rat up a drainpipe “ is a common English expression for undue haste. Why are you deleting those posts. Where in the guidelines does it prohibit usage of English colloquialisms?
