@MissEliza

I'm honestly gobsmacked that H and M have given an interview to a British newspaper about institutional racism in the U.K. from their luxury mansion in California paid for by H's inherited wealth. They really are putting two fingers up to the RF.
Some people are so blinkered by their own views that they just can’t see other ones.
JaJaDingDong · 01/10/2020 16:28

*Doh! The monastic IS allowed to marry a Catholic, but not BE a Catholic.

JaJaDingDong · 01/10/2020 16:29

Bloody hell! *monarch Grin

SwordfishShashlik · 01/10/2020 16:45

I really must apologise for my foul language on the previous page. It was like I was possessed by the wrath of Prince Philip.

Wheresthebeach · 01/10/2020 17:12

@ajandjjmum

I think as part of the 12 month review, Harry should be asked to step away from the succession. How can someone who clearly has no respect for the Monarchy, ever lead it - albeit that it would only ever be under terrible circumstances.

I also think that HM should bite the bullet, and announce at the same time that Andrew will be removed from succession, until/unless his name is cleared.

Which would mean Beatrice would take Harry's place? She seems like a sensible young woman. Hope to God she would never be needed though.

I agree he should voluntarily step away and frankly renounce his titles.
Wheresthebeach · 01/10/2020 17:15

@Dairyfine

They are speaking out again; same old, same old. Nasty old racist Blighty, surely the shittiest nation to have ever existed.

The UK has a constitutional monarchy. It still exists because the British public allow it to exist. These two seem to be hellbent on doing everything they can to bring it down.

It would seem so...at the same time as feathering their nest and living off their Royal titles.

Time for them to be cut loose completely and live as private citizens.

Janegrey333 · 01/10/2020 17:20

That interview was excruciatingly awkward. The gibberish uttered was off the scale.

MidnightFlit · 01/10/2020 17:23

Hmm. When's the 12 month review again? Could that interview be a bit of a pre-emptive 'Here, have your stinky line of succession back, I didn't want it anyway?'

EastonSarah · 01/10/2020 17:27

Maireas · 01/10/2020 17:42

That Black History Month interview... Harry explaining that London isn't as diverse as people think! No love, not if you've lived in Kensington! Unbelievable.

Did he actually say that?!!! London's one of the most diverse cities in the world. Twat.
Maireas · 01/10/2020 18:10

Oh, it got better, MissEliza when they called for an end to structural racism Hmm

Noidea2114 · 01/10/2020 18:11

Wait until the court case all secrets will be coming out of the woodwork. The press will crusifie the pair of imbeciles.
I bet the RF will be glad to get rid of them when the 12 month review is up.

GingerScallop · 01/10/2020 18:14

'For as long as structural racism exists, there will be generations of young people of colour who do not start their lives with the same equality of opportunity as their white peers. And for as long as that continues, untapped potential will never get to be realised.'

I do find it galling that they never acknowledge their privilege. What about as long as there is inherited titles and wealth and inherited platforms from 1000 years? And yes, Meghan is mixed race and faced racism but as one brought up on Hollywood set, and now privileged by marrying into massive inherited privilege, they are part of the structure. Other than lecturing to "buy" more privilege and relevance, what are they doing to dismantle those structures? I have beef with Harry more than Meghan. The public has evidence of at least 3 massive racist things he has said. He has never acknowledged them or addressed them since becoming woke. The way he acted in Malawi was from a position of white, royal privilege (cat clawing and hissing response for being asked how the people he was advising to dream could realise those dreams). Meeting a despot that underprivileged black Malawians pleaded with him not to meet! Women were being raped as punishment for resisting that government even the week he arrived but no, he met the despot and refused to meet human rights organisations. And I know more of what he did from first hand info. I called it when they left that they will speak a lot of racism because no one can truly challenge them for fear of being labelled racist. Its not that what they are saying isn't true (well not all of it) but am just gatvol (fed up) with all these privileged persons suddenly deciding to lecture everyone, amplify their voices further. Shut up and listen to those of us who experience this every day. Shut up so that our voices can be heard!

Words · 01/10/2020 18:18

I tried to watch it, I really did. Got about half way through but in that time I heard enough meaningless word salad from her and, quite frankly, astonishing hypocrisy from him, I couldn't carry on.

Not comfortable with his reference to 'black men and girls' either. Is that what he meant?

MissEliza · 01/10/2020 19:09

@Maireas and did H explain what structural racism was?

Maireas · 01/10/2020 19:24

I don't know, MissEliza, I may have passed out. He lectured us on not being able to buy black dolls in toy shops, which is weird because I had one as a child in the 1960s, as did my elder sister who was born in 1954.

TheChristmasPrincess · 01/10/2020 19:44

I had black dolls when I was a child (early to mid 90s). One was a traditional baby doll and the rest were Barbie’s friend, I think her name was Christie. I used to pick her because I preferred her outfits to Barbie & her other friends. They were all bought from Toys R Us! What is he on about?

SunbathingDragon · 01/10/2020 19:52

Black dolls have been easily accessible for decades. As for London not being as diverse as people think, it just shows how ignorant he is about this.

OutwiththeOutCrowd · 01/10/2020 19:54

I don’t know what’s going on with H and M in the interview.

All I know is the dog really cosied up to Harry.

I can almost see the think bubble above its head:

'Well, I have peed behind a tree hundreds of times and Harry has never found it delightful. Oh well, I suppose a show of affection towards him will at least help me avoid a one way trip to the Mulroneys. Woof!'

Oldbutstillgotit · 01/10/2020 19:55

I had a black doll back in the late 50s/ early 60s so that assertion is bollocks .

Isn’t Grenfell Tower literally like a 10 minutes drive from Kensington Palace? Grenfell Tower, the place which was occupied by various ethnic minorities? Grenfell Tower, whose (ethnic minority) residents collaborated with your wife to write a community cook book? But he thinks London isn’t diverse? 🙄

It’s becoming quite clear who the smart one is in their relationship!

Maireas · 01/10/2020 20:24

I'm just waiting for a lecture on feminism. No doubt we all need to sit at his feet and listen to that wisdom.

Followed by a lecture on budgeting to help out those who lose jobs due to the pandemic.
