@Viviennemary

I read they have been recording videos of their time in the royal family and they will be released as part of their Netflix shows.
Perhaps I’m wrong but I interpret this to be them doing pieces to camera talking about themselves and their rationale, rather than filming where they shouldn’t. It’s still ludicrously narcissistic but more consistent with their other behaviour.
AnneOfQueenSables · 29/09/2020 09:43

I assumed it would be diary pieces to camera too. A bit like 'It's Day 22 in the Big Brother house ...'
Or perhaps more appropriately, 'I'm a Celebrity...get me out of here.'

RoyalInsider How has Meghan improved the world? I'm asking in all seriousness.

Wondering when Harry will wake up, smell the coffee and come back grovelling!!

I really don’t understand why so many people seem to think Harry has been duped into anything. As I see posters often say on the relationship boards, when someone shows you what they are like, believe them.

Quietlyloud · 29/09/2020 10:05

I meant Sandringham Sure..

I’m baffled why your nasty comment wasn’t deleted yet other criticisms are? What are HQ playing at?

Well a judge has already suggested he has the inside track!
SunbathingDragon · 29/09/2020 10:18

With regards to the legal case, over £3 million on legal fees - is that really anywhere near a normal amount when the case is still months off being heard in court? Also, has anyone heard anything of Carolyn Durand? For a joint author of a book that ANL are fighting to include in their defence, she seems very quiet whilst Omid Scobie has submitted a statement.

I think it’s all a case of not wanting to play second fiddle.

Harry didn’t want to live life as the eternal spare, and Meghan didn’t want to sit in the row behind Kate.

I really think they had in mind the separate court thing, living in Windsor Castle, hosting A Listers, travelling and doing “sexy” good works. Living in (quite ugly) Frogmore Cottage and having to open community centres in Andover on a Wednesday in February was what made the pair of them decide to glamour as opposed to gumboots.

EastonSarah · 29/09/2020 10:57

Living in (quite ugly) Frogmore Cottage
Haha!

Looks okay to me though:

SunbathingDragon · 29/09/2020 11:05

Maybe I’m cynical but the timing of news stories saying the queen is furious that she can’t spend Christmas at Sandringham because of her bubble coming right after reports of H&M making a documentary about themselves/reality show/other terminology for it, seems a convenient distraction attempt.

AnneOfQueenSables · 29/09/2020 11:19

Maybe it's HMQ preparing to announce a streamlined family Christmas so there's no need for H&M to book flights or to have any public discussions about Christmas with the RF.

Viviennemary · 29/09/2020 11:26

I doubt H&M will be allowed to come for Christmas in view of Covid.

SunbathingDragon · 29/09/2020 11:28

In many ways covid is a good reason for the RF to avoid any in person meetings with H&M and anyone else for that matter. But that also works the other way and if they want to see H&M, and especially Archie, then H&M can use the reason back at them.

EastonSarah · 29/09/2020 11:36

@Viviennemary

I doubt H&M will be allowed to come for Christmas in view of Covid.
Plus, they would have to isolate when arriving in England and then again when they get home, which adds up to a lot of time
Wheresthebeach · 29/09/2020 11:49

@AnneOfQueenSables

It's the faux disingenuousness on these threads that I hate. The Africa suggestion for Harry predated Meghan. He made it clear whilst with Chelsea that his ideal would be living and working in Africa. It resurfaced when M said their love of Africa was something they shared. And in their SA interview Harry said they'd considered a move there but then discounted it for reasons of security etc. Ironically he said Africa would still be the focus of their lives' work. Then there is the constant pretence that posters are protesting misogyny whilst making misogynist attacks on every other female connected to the RF. Plus the faux naivety that H&M are being treated differently. H&M have stepped back from the RF. They have moved country. They have launched at least one lawsuit that could have implications for privacy, copyright, sources and freedom of the media. Their actions are newsworthy from a royal, historic, legal and media pov. The posters who pretend they can't see that are embarrassing. And the way they align with abusive posters who make personal attacks is unforgivable imo. I've been here a long time. These threads are the most vicious and disingenuous I have ever read, and they reflect very badly on certain posters who deliberately and consistently create this hostile environment.
I agree

Faux disingenuousness, especially after deliberately pretending to misinterpret, twisting innocuous comments, maligning and then reporting when getting a reaction... But somehow it’s those who don’t do that that tend to be called racist and accused of breaching the talk guidelines. 🤷🏻‍♀️

IrmaFayLear · 29/09/2020 12:12

I have read a lot about people being misquoted to imply they are an “ist” or an “anti” eg, if someone says “I am appalled when a person says, “I hate dogs” as I love them” and the offence seeker just quotes the “I hate dogs” bit. Once accused, it’s so difficult to paddle back.

meercat23 · 29/09/2020 12:15

And turning such an innocuous comment into a racist attack sums up what's wrong. Words twisted to suit an agenda.

I agree with the previous comments. To be clear, racism needs to be challenged but trying to link every negative comment to racism is plain wrong.

It is obviously the case that criticism can be racist. It is also equally obvious that not all criticism is racist.

PainyRuddles · 29/09/2020 12:22

Quite honestly, Mumsnet needs to give their head a wobble. The deletions of NoFox last night, were posts that were talking sense, in a non offensive manner.

The moderating needs to be consistant, which it clearly is not. People are being deleted and banned for nothing more than stating facts, while certain people, orchestrating huge wall of text post attacks on the Middletons, remain unchallenged, and undeleted.

Shocking, appalling moderating. Surely MNHQ have seen the amount of support that NoFox had last night after her eloquent, yet deleted post. Does that not tell them something, that perhaps, their decision making is falling short of the standards it should be.

Just my tuppence, of course!
