That Southern Africa trip cost £245k. The one where they spoke about their personal unhappiness.

Roussette · 25/09/2020 07:28

Another stick to beat them with then!

It's just said on the news it applies to all the Royals and that Prince Charles went to Oman for just two days and it cost £200,000.

If we are to criticise the SA trip of H&M, let's criticise them all. bet that doesn't happen
Only fair.

Maireas · 25/09/2020 07:35

I'd certainly criticise Camilla and Charles if the Oman trip was overshadowed by a narrative of personal woe by either of them.

@Iknowthingsthatwillhappen thanks for sharing that. The Times nails it.

Iknowthingsthatwillhappen · 25/09/2020 08:22

It is an interesting (but clearcut) article in the Times about Harry, his royal status and voting...........................

I hope Harry gets good tax advice before pursuing US citizenship

IrmaFayLear · 25/09/2020 09:03

Why do people pursue this narrative that Harry is a young man who is charmingly naive?

If someone was posting about their 36-year-old dh who was clueless I’m sure the whole of MN would agree that he was a grown up. Why is Harry allowed to be Peter Pan?

I agree with you. I think he has spent his entire privileged life being so pampered and taking things for granted that he is at best ignorant. No excuse for that as we can all educate ourselves.

I don’t mind the royal tours costing money when it’s a justifiable expense and brings good publicity to those causes. I’d far rather a significant sum spent on an entire tour than on one or two dresses that are either never seen again or only once or twice.

thefatladyscreams · 25/09/2020 09:11

@Iknowthingsthatwillhappen

Presumably as Harry is so impassioned about politics now, he will vote in the uk?
Yes. And you could argue that the election last December was a very important one yet he didn’t relinquish his privileged lifestyle to exercise a vote then. So only USA matters and not the wellbeing of the UK?
HarryDaylight · 25/09/2020 09:11

Iknowthingsthatwillhappen Thankyou for sharing the Times article.

Certainly how he comes across right now. Although if he is planning on American citizenship and making his move there a permanent one, then that could account for why his focus is there.

Must admit, I thought the Daily Mail were scraping the barrel with leading on this today. My issue is with.HaM hijacking the trip with their own complaints but not the cost of the trip itself which I’d assume was par the course for any royal visit.

Thank you for sharing.

I know lots of supporters like to blame the tabloids and, especially, the Daily Mail for negative articles about H&M but increasingly it seems all of the media are on the same wavelength albeit to differing degrees.

The Times was quite recently regarded as a paper H&M hadn’t fallen out with as well.

Just sticking my head above the parapet after yesterday’s personal attack .....
Great article in The Times .
Eugenie is pregnant .

HeddaGarbled · 25/09/2020 09:30

If he had voted, he’d have voted Tory, just like the rest of his family would. I wonder how honest he is to Meghan about his real political views.

I was about to post about Eugenie's news. Harry and Meghan continue to provide excellent entertainment. They're so bloody po faced about everything it makes me laugh.

Well, he did say to give Trump a chance to M's dad when they had their phone conversation, so...

That's quite an assumption.

Thank you . I was ridiculously upset yesterday x

BarleylemonPenguin · 25/09/2020 09:40

In light of Jan Moir's DM article this morning, I replayed the video (with the sound off) and have come to a somewhat different conclusion to the one I came to yesterday. While then, I thought that it looked like the penny was starting to drop for H, I now wonder if it's also starting to drop for M - "I need to get rid of that title millstone stat").
