I listened to the clip twice and didn't feel it was him saying go out and vote, but her. He talks of hate speech and misinformation, she talks of voter registration day and how important this election is.

Disingenuous is a favourite word to use isn't it?! I answer posts as I find them, as I'm sure you do too.
I'm glad my perception of what you meant wasn't wrong

I wish they would denounce the “online negativity” that some followers of the so-called Sussex Squad direct at their own family. Doesn’t seem to get their attention for some reason.

@Ninjava

Anyone who can’t see why this latest video is highly problematic is being deliberately obtuse!
Exactly!

It's a bit like Ivanka Trump sitting on a park bench whilst telling everyone in the UK to vote, with heavy hints as to which way the direction of said vote should be. That's it.

lesleyw1953 · 23/09/2020 17:14

Hasn't JM recently claimed mm speaks with her every day and they are family? Odd no sign of mm supporting this ...

Whilst telling everyone she won’t live in the country whilst Boris Johnson is prime minister but that’s not to have any bearing on her political views at all...

I just don't get why Harry and Meghan think they have the authority to do all this stuff. Genuinely, do they consider themselves to be in the league of the Obamas? I am genuinely puzzled.

jeffgoldblumlovespenguins · 23/09/2020 17:50

@Maireas , I'm perpetually puzzled and confused by the whole schebang! 🤪

Authority? Why do you need authority to urge people to vote?

Beyoncé has urged US citizens to vote 'like your lives depend on it'

Bette Midler never stops urging people to vote.

Ditto Cher.

Billie Eilish ditto
And many many others. Do they have 'the authority'?

Likewise! They are a bit like a RF spin off reality show for entertainment at times! Perhaps their tv show could be called Made Outside The Royal Family. Grin

Ninjava · 23/09/2020 18:03

If only MN had an ignore poster button...

Yes , or keeping up the markles!
Or even house of Windsor ! 😀

Roussette · 23/09/2020 18:08

Many on here are not going to like this article buy hey ho... dare you to read it...

JaJaDingDong · 23/09/2020 18:09

AFAIC - as far as I'm concerned!

I thought it was "and for all I care" Grin

TheNavigator · 23/09/2020 18:09

It's been mentioned before, the whole RF is a long running soap to entertain the public.

Anyway - everyone should vote (I say that under my own authority Grin)

jeffgoldblumlovespenguins · 23/09/2020 18:10

Interesting 🤔, I preferred the strange stories of Tom cruise article linked at the top!

Very good suggestions. Perhaps we could have a few spin offs. Grin

Buckingham Palace have told me that they are not commenting on this, adding: ‘The Duke is not a working member of the Royal Family and any comments he makes are made in a personal capacity.’
Which I personally think IS a comment in itself.

Agreed, that’s very much a comment about it.
Ninjava · 23/09/2020 18:19

Why would anyone want to be told what to think by Grazia magazine? Good grief 😂

(Same goes for the DM btw.)

Roussette · 23/09/2020 18:23

Ninjava

one Grazia article compared to hundreds and hundreds of DM article links...

It's just another opinion and this is an H&M thread and I wanted to air it.

derxa · 23/09/2020 18:24

Meghan and Harry are a pair of annoying irritants at the moment. Celebrity endorsements for Hillary Clinton, Jeremy Corbyn and the Remain vote didn't do them much good in the recent past. Harry and Meghan are positioning themselves politically. Will this encourage people to vote for Joe Biden? Who knows. The Palace are distancing themselves from Harry's comments.

thefatladyscreams · 23/09/2020 18:31

BBC, the Times, Telegraph and Guardian amongst others all reporting on Harry’s controversial remark. So not just us questioning it.

Ninjava · 23/09/2020 18:35

I’ve read about it in The Times actually, is that OK?
