I thought we could have a thread for latest news. MN did say they didn't mind one or two threads. And no rules except stick to MN guidelines. It's Meghans birthday today I just read. And the Queen has wished her a very happy birthday on the royal Instagram page according to that popular Oracle the DM.

But if people from different continents get together one has to move. But it's sad when one person still longs for home.

I think it was meant to be on a podcast (his? Does he have one?) interviewing one of the sussexsquad, and I think it was the fan that had mentioned Sussex team had been in touch.

I hadn't heard of Sussex Squad until this thread, so had a google of their Twitter hashtag. Wow, they are evangelical in their support. Calling the RF 'inbreeds' (sic) and wearing Sussex Squad masks?

I had heard of them but just googled them just now. They do sound batty to say the least.

the Sussex Squad thing sounds weird but H&M seem happy to encourage it.

Grief. This guy is such an obsequious creep. Really sucking up to the Sussex s to a crazy degree. Then does the brief disclaimer that the book isn’t authorised. Then goes back to talking about how good their access was and licking the Sussexes feet some more. Very odd. I don’t think I’ll become a regular listener.

I haven't listened to it all, but did listen to sussexsquad Danielle explain how the MM birthday fundraising came about. She arranged a fundraiser for Archie's birthday and said afterwards she wasn't doing it again, it was too much work and too stressful.

She later received an email from Team Sussex and had a zoom call with them and one of the questions was what projects does she have lined up. She said she felt under pressure and said maybe for Meghan's birthday but she doesn't know why she said that as she was not even thinking about it. They said great and to email them when the project was ready.

This does not really reflect very well on Team Sussex. Even one of their biggest fans didn't really want to do anything but felt pressure to. She doesn't say felt pressured by 'them' but I can imagine why you would feel the pressure!

I assume Team Sussex in this case will be their PR team. Must be great when you can get the fans to do free PR for you.

Why would they want to raise money. Harry and Meghan have quite enough private funds of their own to make substantial donations yo charity if they so wished. Why is it always somebody else digging into their pockets.

It depends what’s established about The Duke of York. Potentially he could come out of the everything as the worst, most criminal, European royal in a very long while.

You do know salvery companies in the UK were owned BY the RF don't you? RAC Was the Royal African Company and in years ago (I think 200 years ago plus) was owned by the King and Duke of York. Slaves were branded with DY for Duke of York. It was lead by Charles 2's brother who became James 2 When salvery was abolished the BRF were very well compensated for their company and salves.

The occasions you mention have been well-publicised - together with others - and those RF members in question, pulled apart over the issue. Rightly so.

Putting them to one side, I genuinely don't think the Royals accept free clothes etc. But I'll believe you when you show me where it's recorded.

The BRF get free clothes -it called taxpayer funds. Who do you think pays for everything? And don't say it is from the Duchy of Cornwall - that was set up as effectively a trust fund for the heir apparent. The whole thing is a farce. If you die without a will in Cornwall for example, & without heirs, property goes to DOC! To put it in monetary terms - In 2019, the Prince of Wales website stated that he received $28.7 million from the Duchy of Cornwall, $2.6 million in Sovereign Grant and $784.1million in Government Departments.

Let's read that again -Prince Charles -nearly a Billion from THE GOVERNMENT -Taxes -us.
So no I don't think she is gets bags of clothes from desginers but SHE and them are not paying for it. WE do.

This is why I have no sympathy. They are immensely privileged people. Royal life didn't suit them. Fine. They wanted a family life as private individuals. OK. But they moved to LA to be royal celebs and influencers hopefully making billions for themselves along the way. Meanwhile telling us and everyone else where we are all going wrong.

Bemorechicken The Royal Family are not allowed to accept 'freebies'. Whether that still applies to M & H, (or whether it ever did to Meghan) I don't know. If they are now allowed to accept gifts - could Ralph Lauren bung Harry some polo shirts in different colours to grey please?

So the fact that PC gets nearly a billion dollars from UK government departments etc isn't "freebies" funded by the tax payer. Maybe the defintion of freebies needs to be looked at. The numbers do not add up.

I know someone who has had dealing with PA a number of times. They work high up in government and they used to dread PA turning up as "trade representative" -they would have spent months negiotating, fine tuning deals and then he would turn up -unrequested and unwanted -and they said he was "floating around like he owned the place" having combined his visit (sometimes at short notice) with going for a skiing holiday and then popping up for lunch somewhere (non paid role -just all expenses paid) then he'd bugger it all up - and say "We can do this for this can't we" and bugger months or even years of work.

Can I just point out that we are in the UK therefore Charles does not receive billions of dollars from anyone. Our currency is the pound.

Andrew as Trade Ambassador was a huge mistake from the start IMHO. It should never have happened.

Actually, this is the system in place in pretty much every common-law based legal system. If you die with no will and no heirs your property is classified as "bona vacantia" and reverts to the Crown (i.e. the government in reality). It does not pass directly into Prince Charles' bank account. In the Duchy of Cornwall in fact, monies collected via this route are distributed to charities.

@ Viviennemary I would be surprised if anyone disagreed with you about PA being a terrible Trade Ambassador! There were rumblings of discontent about him in the time years ago . I remember reading a very critical article in a newspaper many years ago. Also a friend’s DH was “ something big” in the Foreign Office and didn’t have a good word to say about him !
Back to H and M - who are the Sussex Team ?

@ onprozac. At least that's one thing he can't be accused of! I'm feeling quite sympathetic towards Charles these days. Can't think why. I heartily disapproved of the Charles and Camilla business. This never complain never explain must work.

The thing is they both are entitled with very little going on. I admire Meghan for her acting, blog and everything else she was doing.

Meghan in my mind, yes she hustles, but she made her own money -she was a milliionaire in her own right. I have respect for that. But she "gave up her career" for him - "knowing what she was getting into" but she heard it from PH and didn't look at the realities, 2 other women turned him down. But she thought it would be a billionaire love up with the British Press and people and that they don't deserve to be questionned. She has, in my mind, got this from Harry.

Harry -believes he is equal to William as he was brought up that way with everyone running around doing exactly what he wants. Lots of hushed up incidents. Etc .Look at the Nazi uniform -faking his A Level results -proven in court. He doesn't take his own responsbility. He lectures the "little people" on travel -taking private jets. He lectures the "little people" on social media -despite using SM and leaking stories to the press etc.

But for example Sophie seems to have learnt the hard way -that you get the trimmings and are the figure head only. You have a speech writer. She has 5 years to adjust -this "working" and "earning your own" has been done before. She too, lived at BP before marriage. They both stepped back as Royals and worked and then 5 years later rejoined the fold. This is not new. But they did it properly with the Queen's blessing etc. PE just like PH is the brother of the heir to the throne. She says as a Royal, you turn up and thank people & they "don't want your ideas or input". PH never understood that. He thinks he is incredibly bright and can change the world just like PC because they have people around them telling them how wonderful they are and how bright.

I would google the Sussex squad on twitter. The venom from them is horrendous. It’s the hypocrisy of them cheering on Prince Harry in his speech targeting hatred on social media whilst also abusing anyone who doesn’t agree with them.

I have seen a Meghan 'stan' wish death on the Cambridge children on Twitter. Whilst I think they're a pair of muppets, I wouldn't wish them any harm, and I haven't seen any evidence of anyone else wishing them harm Iboogy.

Anyone seen the latest Blind Gossip ? If we are not allowed to mention that site I apologise .
