I thought we could have a thread for latest news. MN did say they didn't mind one or two threads. And no rules except stick to MN guidelines. It's Meghans birthday today I just read. And the Queen has wished her a very happy birthday on the royal Instagram page according to that popular Oracle the DM.

But wasn't she reported to have said she'd never live in the US while Trump was president ... ?

If every celeb who’d said this actually left ... Hollywood would be empty. No one actually means this (I wish they’d leave though it’s so tiresome to hear)

Viviennemary · 10/08/2020 20:18

The irony here is colossal. What about her elderly father struggling with ill health. Did he not need support.

And for whatever reason @KatherineParr blaming her is still within the M25 boundary, so to speak, of acceptable. The truly interesting question here, which is unanswered, is why.

MangoFeverDream · 10/08/2020 20:24

Why on earth is it her role to support Meghan? Isn't that Harry's job?

It wasn’t very nice of Kate for sure, and even before the last engagement they seemed cold toward H&M but I have to believe she was following William’s lead as usual, who really did seem to have a problem with Meghan from the start.

Strange he’s not getting the blame since the rift was between the brothers originally?

I knew he did not approve of my DH. That did not mean I never introduced them. Nor did it mean that when the time came I left him to his own devices when he was seriously ill and coming to the end of his life. He was certainly narcissistic and we clashed constantly but he helped me out all of my life. I could go on but I won't.

Dan Wootten alluded to the fact that H&M camp where the ones to release the Hanbury affair details to him. This was just before the commonwealth service and could explain why Kate gave them both the cold shoulder.

MM stated the fact that her famous five injunction friends where all young mothers as a reason why there names shouldn't be published. She doesnt seem to have the same consideration for Kate who was a young mother to three, including a new born.

There is a section in finding freedom that says Kate did send Meghan flowers but Meghan responded by letting Kate know flowers where not enough. If somone responded to to a kind gesture I did like that I wouldn't give them the time of day from them on tbh.

why wasn't it very nice of Kate? And what is the evidence William had "a problem from the start". D&D of S engagement interview enthused about 'the family she never had"... I actually don't think it was at all unreasonable for William to say to Harry "take as much time as you need" because he knew how much of an undertaking it was for a 'newcomer' to marry in...

There's also a tv interview with Harry around the time Kate and William got married in which how he talks about how William sensibly took his time before deciding Kate was who he wanted to marry. How things change, I guess...

I hope Kate never has to see that couple at an event that isn't carefully orchestrated again

I wouln't worry - with the experience she's now gained I'm sure Kate's capable of being "diplomatically unavailable" when it suits

But if the account's true, I guess it could make a difference to any chance of William accepting his brother back into the fold. As I've often said, there's only so much folk can keep blaming Meghan for

I feel for Kate, I know she is very dignified but having no right of reply must be galling.

bluebell34567 · 10/08/2020 23:39

if KM replies then she will be at their level. at her position silence is gold.

ZaraCarmichaelshighheels · 11/08/2020 00:42

Oh I agree but it must be infuriating none the less.

StartupRepair · 11/08/2020 02:44

Harry and Meghan threw away Harry's lifetime of service and their own opportunity to make a difference in an established institution because Kate only sent flowers. They sound like very hard work.

LittleBearPad · 11/08/2020 05:04

Prince Harry knew Meghan Markle was his soulmate when she went for a pee in the woods on their first trip abroad, it is revealed in their bombshell biography, Finding Freedom, which hits shelves today.

GrinConfusedGrin

KatherineParr4 · 11/08/2020 05:52

But there are no woods in Africa!

LittleBearPad · 11/08/2020 05:56

Good point!

Apparently he was also impressed she cleaned her face with baby wipes...

KatherineParr4 · 11/08/2020 06:06

Not very environmentally friendly, is it? They had an en-suite bathroom apparently so why couldn’t she wash it?

StartupRepair · 11/08/2020 06:28

It's not clear why she had to pee in the 'woods' as they had an ensuite bathroom.

Nanasueathome · 11/08/2020 06:56

I still find it hard to believe that H&M themselves did not contribute to the book
