I thought we could have a thread for latest news. MN did say they didn't mind one or two threads. And no rules except stick to MN guidelines. It's Meghans birthday today I just read. And the Queen has wished her a very happy birthday on the royal Instagram page according to that popular Oracle the DM.

And none of any of her family invited except Dori a. Not one uncle aunt cousin grandparent not even the uncle who had helped her get the embassy placement. That was terribly mean. They haven't said a lot. Very dignified. But how mean with all the celebs there.

Can’t link from the Times but was reading this www.redonline.co.uk/red-women/news-in-brief/a33554606/princess-charlotte-teacher-marries-godfather/. I think this doesn’t support Harry’s snob accusation at William if he and Catherine played a part in the two dating. I can’t imagine a snob would match make his close friend and teacher.
Her brother is Irish Olympic pentathlete Arthur Lanigan-O'Keeffe. This article amp.independent.ie/sport/other-sports/athletics-already-aiming-for-gold-in-rio-28895053.html has a paragraph by his mother (Carolyn) It amuses them when people hear the double-barrelled surname and instantly imagine a life of unremitting privilege and endless leisure time. They wish. Carolyn, as it happens, is neither a Lanigan nor an O'Keeffe. The name goes back generations in Stephen's family and both are normal hard-working parents, simply trying to give their children a good start in life. When she travels with the Irish team, Carolyn does so at her own expense and, in non-Olympic years, she will ration her trips on a needs basis.

@MissEliza

I couldn't believe someone would fly across the Atlantic to attend someone's wedding, then not invite them to their own wedding reception.
Especially when, let’s be honest, it was a deliberate snub because they would not have been short on room or money to accommodate such long standing friends. Thomas’ younger brother is said to be one of Archie’s godfathers. I wonder if he attended the evening reception or not.
YouSayWhat · 09/08/2020 15:07

Ah, so it was Harry’s friend’s brother who only got the half-wedding invitation. The older brothers are friends and the younger brothers are friends. It makes it a bit easier to understand.

I think they are all in the same friendship circle. Not that it necessarily means anything but Harry attended Thomas’ first wedding with no mention of being excluded from any part of it. Thomas was also in attendance when Harry was partying naked in LA.

I think people are getting Tom Inskip and Thomas van Straubenzee mixed up. I could be wrong of course.

Eaumyword · 09/08/2020 15:41

Just wondering if anyone watched the Ch5 programme on Harry and Meghan last night? I think it was fairly up to date.
Quite interesting, didn't cover any new revelations though. Direct quote from the programme: "Harry and Meghan are happy to invade their own privacy, as long as there's a positive outcome for them".
Also a summary of how polarising they are as a couple.
It was generally positive, but portrays them as dissatisfaction driving a lot of their choices.

Viviennemary · 09/08/2020 15:46

I have recorded it. And watched a bit of it. I'm sure it's been on already. Didn't think much of the bits I saw. Nothing new.

Jacobi Anstruther- Gough- Calthorpe ( I think) has said in an interview that he hasn’t spoken to H for ages . Apparently they used to be good friends . He is Cressida ‘s brother .
I do hope H still has some friends for support .

I replied to this to say you were right and that I had got them mixed up but apparently admitting that violates the talk guidelines. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Harry did go to TVS wedding as it was published in mainstream media at the time.

Viviennemary · 09/08/2020 19:46

I can't keep up with those friends of William and Harry's. I remember there was a row and falling out over seating at somebody's wedding. Van Cutsens or something IIRC. Because Charles and Camilla weren't allowed to sit together. Thats before they were married or engaged just to be clear! So fallings out aren't unprecedented for one reason or another. I'll need to check it. But since nobody said anything in response to the media articles it all got forgotten about and they're all friends again.

I've always imagined mixing in those social circles must be hell.

Isitmeurlookingfor · 09/08/2020 20:36

Y so many deleted threads?

SunbathingDragon - I replied to this to say you were right and that I had got them mixed up but apparently admitting that violates the talk guidelines. How strange, Myimaginarycathadfleas' post, from what I remember, basically said that the British public aren't racist, and that also apparently breaks the talk guidelines. Yet a Meghan supporter claims a judge is biased and that's okay? How curious.

MissEliza · 09/08/2020 20:55

OMG how did that get deleted?

YouSayWhat · 09/08/2020 21:19

derxa you are right, I got the two Toms mixed up.

What does a rhubarb peeler even look like?!

ArriettyJones · 09/08/2020 21:32

Rhubarb peeler?

A lemon slicer free a three in Andrew Morton’s book three decades ago. Is this the sequel?

Isitmeurlookingfor · 09/08/2020 21:32

Like a melon baller??

ArriettyJones · 09/08/2020 21:33
