Daily Mail reports they have privately married at Windsor Castle.

Lovely news if true.

I hope they have a lifetime of love and happiness.

@LadyofTheManners but she’s dun everything within guidelines?

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 17/07/2020 14:51

I saw the Queen and Prince Philip driving away from Windsor Castle on the Long Walk this morning on way there when I was walking my dog.

And the Deer park is closed to the public today because you need to go through to get to the venue.

Lovely day for it!

AnneOfQueenSables · 17/07/2020 14:56

This was the perfect solution. It avoids all the controversy with PA , all the drama with the Sussexes and they get to announce in advance when they will release photos so there's no clashes with other Royal stories.

I hope they will be happy together.

saltycat · 17/07/2020 14:57

I wish them the best, and even more I wish more weddings were like this. Takes a lot of the pressure off and reduces costs. Many are pressured into a big gig by family.

Could become more popular now. Weddings should just be immediate family anyway. I know I'll be flamed for saying that, but that's my view.

Alsohuman · 17/07/2020 14:58

@LadyofTheManners

Sorry but that pisses me off.

I was due to get married this year, a few weeks back and couldn't due to covid rules. I live not far from Windsor and I find it another slap in the face to the rest of us that she is allowed to do what she wants and ignore the rules, have her granny there, full bloody ceremony.
I've got to hope everything is OK for the rest of us plebs next year.
Bet we all paid for it as well in some way as usual.

Why are we meant to like these people? They do nothing, I fail to see what good they do? The Queen could financially sort the current crisis out with the sale of one bloody brooch.
You would think they would keep a low profile with her dad being on the verge of being up for extradition due to questionable behaviour with young girls.

Anybody can get married now with a maximum of 30 people in attendance. They have kept a low profile.

Your grasp of economics is pretty bloody poor if you think £ billions of debt could be cleared with “the sale of one bloody brooch”, the Queen’s entire fortune wouldn’t even touch the sides.

What a nasty, bitter reaction to some really nice news.

JaJaDingDong · 17/07/2020 14:59

I'm very happy for them both if it's true - and I hope it is. But I suspect she's either pregnant already, or will be shortly. She's in her early 30s I think. no criticism - I'd have done the same in her shoes.

IsMiseMorag · 17/07/2020 14:59

I hope she's very happy and the marriage is a good solid one. The quiet wedding arrangement was discreet and dignified (and prevented a whole slew of family awkwardness) so she's already doing better than her parents.

Parker231 · 17/07/2020 15:00

Saltycat - I agree. Anyone can have the type of wedding they would like but don’t expect tax payers to pay for a minor royal.

LadyofTheManners · 17/07/2020 15:04
@LadyofTheManners Beatrice hasn’t done anything wrong. These ceremonies are allowed.
Jealous much?!
Have you seen who her Dad is? Jealous? No livid that in no way will they be honest at how many were there

Alsohuman · 17/07/2020 15:08

No livid that in no way will they be honest at how many were there

I think you’re attempting to say there might have been more than 30 people there. Given that her extremely susceptible and extremely high profile grandparents were in attendance, I imagine it was all done to the absolute letter. Who’d risk killing the Queen, ffs?

BlingLoving · 17/07/2020 15:08

Have you seen who her Dad is? Jealous? No livid that in no way will they be honest at how many were there

Now you're just being a bit silly. So you think they actually had 100 people, with a knees up at the castle afterwards because "the rules don't apply" to them? Please. There's taking advantage of their situation, which of course does happen (again, see Prince Andrew) and then there's just outright lying about something so silly and so likely to be found out. And this would be the latter.

Raimona · 17/07/2020 15:09

Good for her. She obviously didn’t feel the need to wait so she could have a flashy public wedding. Meghan could learn a lot from her.

alliwantisagoodnightssleep · 17/07/2020 15:12

Please let’s not turn this into a Meghan bashing thread!

This is for Beatrice’s wedding.

BuffaloCauliflower · 17/07/2020 15:18

@LadyofTheManners you’re being extremely silly. Do you think she wants to risk the lives of her grandparents in their 90s any more than anyone else does? She’s never struck me as ostentatious anyway, I’m sure she’s quite happy with 28 close family and friends, that’s a perfectly respectable number for a wedding there doesn’t actually have to be huge pomp for it to count.

You too, sweetiepie.
catbellz · 17/07/2020 15:22

@LadyofTheManners you're being completely ridiculous and bitter. Pack it in and grow up.
I don't think for one minute the royals could sneak 50 odd people in or out of Windsor castle without someone leaking it and becoming the next big story! As pp has said, no one is going to risk doing the Queen in for gods sake.

Mrsmadevans · 17/07/2020 15:23

I can't wait to see a picture Smile

Illdealwithitinaminute · 17/07/2020 15:23

Wow, a member of the Royal Family that read the room and acted appropriately! Good on them and I hope just on a human level that she's happy.

Mrsmadevans · 17/07/2020 15:27

Ahh this explains it! What good sorts they are Smile
'A photo of the couple will not be released until Saturday, as they do not wish to overshadow Sir Captain Tom Moore being knighted.'

Dozer · 17/07/2020 15:30

Hope some pics will be released at some point, love any wedding pics, including celebs and royals!

Notmyrealname855 · 17/07/2020 15:44

Slightly derailing but I LOVED (loved!!!) eugenies dress and was surprised it isn’t listed as more of a favourite tbh. So beautiful, simple, loved the material and the folded bit at the back. Plus she looked so happy :) her evening gown was lovely too though a bit weird around the boob area, but very elegant.

saltycat · 17/07/2020 15:45

Aw wasn't that lovely seeing Sir Tom. I think I have something in my eye.

Two lovely intimate ceremonies in the one day. Classy of the newly weds, have to say, and looking forward to some pics tomorrow.

Isn't that dress on who appears to be Sir Tom's grand daughter beautiful!

Gave me a lift with all this good news for a change!

Eaumyword · 17/07/2020 15:49

Me too, loving the photo's today. I just posted how pretty the granddaughter's (?) dress on S&B. Like a full skirt ballerina dress - beautiful! Love HMQ dress colour too
