Daily Mail reports they have privately married at Windsor Castle.

Lovely news if true.

I hope they have a lifetime of love and happiness.

He's ITV's royal correspondent.

Pippin2028 · 17/07/2020 13:59

I think Bea hasn't had an easy time of it, I think her previous BF strung her along from what has been written, and now with her fathers scandal I don't think a public wedding would have been the best idea for her. It is sad as Eugenie got her big day but what matters is that the important people in Beas life was there.

ArriettyJones · 17/07/2020 13:59

Ah thanks @ButteryPuffin I thought it rang a bell.

@ArriettyJones Chris Ship is the ITV Royal Correspondent.

I'm afraid that I can't get excited about this. Both parents are dire, so it's hard for me to fully imagine them turning out to be really nice. They do seem considerable better than either parent though.

qnc01 · 17/07/2020 14:08

Is that a euphemism?

No, why would it be?

Playmysong · 17/07/2020 14:08

I hope she has a long and happy marriage and think this was definitely the way to go, considering her dreadful parents. She certainly won’t have any worries about money, except perhaps her dm trying to get her hands on it!

I doubt Fergie was happy, missing out on all the attention, but Andrew was probably delighted to avoid all the attention (despicable creature that he is).

TheNewLook · 17/07/2020 14:12

nobody would publish so definitely without a copper bottomed source

Well, that’s one way to describe the bride’s mother.

Well I'm really pleased for her.

Just a few weeks after it would have been.

Hope that they are both very happy together.

Laiste · 17/07/2020 14:16

Covid situation has provided the opportunity to have a private wedding with no questions asked. Avoids speculation about H&M, vitriol (deserved) over Andrew, or comparisons about the cost of security/carriage ride or the bloody celeb-hanger-on count.

If i were B i'd be delighted to have the opposite style of wedding to my younger sister and with a perfect excuse to do so. This way seems dignified and much more appropriate and in line with the position in the family of these girls. Despite what their creepy dad thinks!

LadyofTheManners · 17/07/2020 14:17

Sorry but that pisses me off.

I was due to get married this year, a few weeks back and couldn't due to covid rules. I live not far from Windsor and I find it another slap in the face to the rest of us that she is allowed to do what she wants and ignore the rules, have her granny there, full bloody ceremony.
I've got to hope everything is OK for the rest of us plebs next year.
Bet we all paid for it as well in some way as usual.

Why are we meant to like these people? They do nothing, I fail to see what good they do? The Queen could financially sort the current crisis out with the sale of one bloody brooch.
You would think they would keep a low profile with her dad being on the verge of being up for extradition due to questionable behaviour with young girls.

TroysMammy · 17/07/2020 14:18

The DM probably called it secret because no-one wanted to tell them what was going on. The BBC called it private which sounds as if it was a lovely and intimate ceremony for them both.

BuffaloCauliflower · 17/07/2020 14:23

@LadyofTheManners What are you on about, she’s followed the rules? Wedding ceremonies of 30 people or less have been allowed since July 4th, she had a small wedding in a church. Anyone can do this now.

derxa · 17/07/2020 14:23

It's the perfect MN wedding. Except for the fact that the bride wouldn't have been wearing jeans.

BuffaloCauliflower · 17/07/2020 14:24

I’m happy for her, I’ve always liked her. She can’t help her parents and has never seemed one for the limelight. Wishing them both the best.

NameChange84 · 17/07/2020 14:24

@LadyofTheManners

Have you not been offered an alternative? I’m up North but socially distanced weddings of less than 30 people (Granny included!) have taken place here in the past week or so. My friend declined as she was asked to wear a mask so she’s chosen to postpone to next year but small ceremonies like Beatrice’s are taking place. I think if you enquire and could keep it as small as possible your wedding will be allowed to go ahead soon too.

alliwantisagoodnightssleep · 17/07/2020 14:25

@LadyofTheManners is there anything stopping you from rescue and getting married in a registry office? Apologies, I don’t know the rules around this.

I will be interested to see if any of the guests are wearing face masks!

Rescheduling not rescue!

That's exactly what they have done.

FelicityPike · 17/07/2020 14:27

@LadyofTheManners Beatrice hasn’t done anything wrong. These ceremonies are allowed.
Jealous much?!

Drinkingallthewine · 17/07/2020 14:32

Reports seem to be that they were never keen on a big wedding so perhaps Covid was an ideal opportunity to have the small low-key wedding they wanted to have without the expectation that as a princess she was obliged to have a big expensive televised one with the press raking up all the current family scandals to overshadow her wedding day.
She can't help her awful father.

OverUnderSidewaysDown · 17/07/2020 14:35

I wish them both every happiness, and I think it was considerate of them to delay issuing photographs so as not to detract from Captain Tom’s big day.
I don’t know why anyone would be irate about them having this small ceremony, it’s been allowed for anyone, Royal or not, since the start of this month.

Patsnpons · 17/07/2020 14:36

Lovely news.

halcyondays · 17/07/2020 14:36

But she did have to postpone her wedding, it was to have been at the end of May I think. She only had about 20 guests and was following the regulations.
