There's different stories fleas! Her father says that they were engaged and the first she knew of their break-up was when she read about him and Beatrice in the press. I also saw it written as you say above.

If there was overlap his ex has been extremely dignified about it. You never know with these things, do you? I will say that royal "ex's" do generally tend to behave quite well in these circumstances. Maybe one or two of them realised the dodged a bullet.

The publicity alone is probably worth $$$$$s to her, and the connection is prestigious, especially in the Asian market, which is apparently half of her work. OTOH maybe her main concern is Wolfie and she can see how beneficial the connection could be to her son.

He really should have known better but when Margaret was 20 she was in love with the man, let's face it she had been fairly sheltered until then, and no doubt he fell for her.

At 25 she was grown up, saw she could have a more interesting life and bored with the idea. I don't blame her.
