Daily Mail reports they have privately married at Windsor Castle.

Lovely news if true.

I hope they have a lifetime of love and happiness.

Thanks for confirming Edwards wedding was indeed filmed.

ZaraCarmichaelshighheels · 19/07/2020 02:12

Glad to be of service!

Goldengroveunleaving · 19/07/2020 07:05

It was said that HMQ was deeply unimpressed that M chose to wear bridal white, which is reminder how traditional values still hold strong

I thought it was a bit surprising too, I must admit. I do think long white dresses are for young women marrying for the first time. I wouldn't have done it myself, especially for such a high-profile wedding (am also divorced). Camilla didn't, although admittedly was much older. Any suggestion of "mutton dressed as lamb" would be hideous. But she did look beautiful, and looks much younger than she is, so could carry it off.

Peaseblossom22 · 19/07/2020 07:06

By Royal standards Beatrice had actually planned a small wedding , the chapel at St James only holds 150 max and they were having a reception in the garden at Buckingham Palace.

Goldengroveunleaving · 19/07/2020 07:11

I suppose HMQ might have been particularly unimpressed (given it was second time around) by the fact that Meghan's dress was the whitest white you ever did see, like a washing powder advert! Though it looked fabulous on her. Beatrice's looks to be a much softer white, as you'd expect from a dress more than 50 years old.

Pancakeorcrepe · 19/07/2020 07:23

I just love everything, the dress, the tiara, the flowers are glorious, the bride is beautiful and the groom is handsome 🤣 the main thing is how happy and radiant they all look, including the Queen.

ButterMeCrumpets · 19/07/2020 07:30

I hope we see more pictures.

Given the current restrictions it's probably great that she got to wear the queens vintage dress and her wedding tiara to make it extra special despite the low key wedding.

Parker231 · 19/07/2020 07:48

It was a private family wedding, why would there be more photos released?

Oldbutstillgotit · 19/07/2020 07:52

@ ArriettyJones

I wonder how they’ve stopped Fergie from tweeting non-stop like she did around Eugenie’s wedding?

Was that not because H and M’s baby announcement “ clashed “ with Eugenie’s wedding ?

Goldengroveunleaving · 19/07/2020 07:58

Just looking at the pictures (of Beatrice and Edo's wedding) and thinking they also have a lovely soft vintage tinge - maybe a filter, I'm no expert - with the peachy pinks of the flowers setting off her hair colour beautifully. HMQ's outfit is really pretty too.

TornadoOfSouls · 19/07/2020 08:03

I thought it was a bit surprising too, I must admit. I do think long white dresses are for young women marrying for the first time.

Me too - especially the veil, which I thought was slightly tasteless for a second marriage - but I thought perhaps I was just being a judgmental fogey.

Beatrice’s wedding photos are beautiful. The flowers! How kind of the Queen to lend her something really special. It’s not my favourite royal tiara but it works so well with the dress. Nice to see HM and PP too.

ImAncient · 19/07/2020 08:10

I used to think the same about a veil & white for a second wedding but a few years ago a cousin married a divorcee. He was of the opinion that it was his first wedding & he wanted the works. Maybe Harry felt the same.

I think Beatrice looks gorgeous. What a great idea to wear Granny’s dress.

@Goldengroveunleaving

Or the Queen may have loved the dress and the big wedding - you have no idea how she felt do you? So why use this happy wedding thread as an excuse for a nasty dig at MM? How obsessed are you with sticking the boot in her that you just can't let it lie.
EdithWeston · 19/07/2020 08:27

I've just seen the pix

Quite something that she wore the same tiara as HMQ did when she married, and it looks wonderful with that dress (which might also be one of the Queen's, altered for the occasion)

They're nice photos - the way they perk round the bank of flowers makes them ok so happy.

But it is weird seeing the gap between them and HMQ/DofE in the one family pic released. But I suppose it had to be an unusual wedding in these circs

Oldbutstillgotit · 19/07/2020 08:33

@ TheNavigator it wasn’t a nasty dig , PP said MM looked fabulous.
The question about wearing a veil fur a second wedding is justified . HM is a stickler for protocol and there have been several sources ( check google ) which suggest she was surprised that MM was wearing a veil .
One of my friends remarried when she was late 30s and had the white dress and veil and her DM ( who is the same age as HM) wasn’t happy , in fact she asked me to have word as I was MOH. Friend said it was first wedding for her fiancé and he wanted The Works.
It may be a generational thing . It never occurred to me to wear a veil at my second wedding !

TheNavigator · 19/07/2020 08:39

@Oldbutstillgotit But you must have noticed the sly digs at H&M's wedding throughout this thread - though strangely no criticism of Kate, or her dress, or what she wore or what the queen thought of her. Why does MM have to be compared unfavourably every time? Some posters are obsessed with sticking the boot in her and it is frankly weird.

Goldengroveunleaving · 19/07/2020 08:40

The Navigator You are so wide of the mark on so many levels that I'm tempted not to respond at all, but - firstly, I didn't raise the subject of HMQ's views on H&M's wedding, it was a response to a pp who had heard something I previously hadn't about her disapproval. Secondly, I said Meghan looked fabulous, which she did, however I feel about her. Finally, you'd be very hard to put to find evidence that I was "obsessed" with "sticking the boot in" to her. I've posted a handful of times on the relevant threads, none of the posts overly harsh towards H&M, whatever I think. I've posted several times on this thread purely about Beatrice's wedding so suggesting I've got some ulterior motive is a bit weird.

Goldengroveunleaving · 19/07/2020 08:47

And why should anyone criticise Kate for any of the reasons mentioned, or the Queen disapprove of her choice of dress on those grounds? It was her first marriage.

TheNavigator · 19/07/2020 08:47

@Goldengroveunleaving I can accept you don't realise how you come across, but digs at another woman are noticed and unnecessary on what should be a happy thread.

Goldengroveunleaving · 19/07/2020 08:51

TheNavigator Patronising, much?!

ImAncient · 19/07/2020 08:54

I think you May have it wrong TheNavigator

Wasn’t goldengrove reply to a pp? I thought so anyway.

Goldengroveunleaving · 19/07/2020 08:59

imancient It was - thank you. Anyway, the last thing I wanted was to start something that would end up derailing this thread, so I'll drop it there.

JenandFlo · 19/07/2020 09:02

I thought Beatrice looked lovely, so elegant and pretty. My favourite of the recent royal wedding dresses. I hope they release some more photos.

Blossom0120 · 19/07/2020 09:02
@Goldengroveunleaving I can accept you don't realise how you come across, but digs at another woman are noticed and unnecessary on what should be a happy thread.
Did you notice digs at various other members of the royal family too? Why do you only like to jump on posters where Meghan is concerned?

ChloeDecker · 19/07/2020 09:21

I read somewhere last year that Beatrice was struggling to get a designer to make a dress for her, as none of them wanted to be associated with links to Andrew. When I saw the Queen had loaned that beautiful dress (love the addition of the pretty sleeves!) and such a special tiara, I did wonder if that was why. Andrew has a lot to answer for.

I wish the happy couple a wonderful marriage!
