Daily Mail reports they have privately married at Windsor Castle.

Lovely news if true.

I hope they have a lifetime of love and happiness.

Said it on another thread but this is my favourite royal dress yet and I didn’t even know i liked the style! She looks fantastic... lovely style, slightly hoping someone lends me a tiara like that one day Grin

ArriettyJones · 18/07/2020 23:31

I wonder how they’ve stopped Fergie from tweeting non-stop like she did around Eugenie’s wedding?

Notmyrealname855 · 18/07/2020 23:38

Sorry to harp on but love how the tiara design mirrors the beading lines on the dress. Love it!!!

MissEliza · 18/07/2020 23:53

The way the tiara matches the beading on the dress is perfection! Love it!

@MissEliza

I think low key weddings will be the fashion in the next few years. However, if rules are relaxed in the next few years, I expect to see Beatrice having a big reception, particularly as she apparently has a huge social circle. I keep saying this- how on earth did those parents produce those girls?!
I think Bea in her 30s and him already having a child will be TTC asap, so could have a big christening for her baby and use that as excuse for a big party.
LaurieFairyCake · 19/07/2020 00:05

I LOVE the idea she's wearing a 50 year old dress worn to a film premiere

It just shows that we proper dressed up 50 years ago (well, if we were Queenie)

Fergie isn't as daft as she acts.

i feel like i have more respect for them now they had a low key beautiful wedding. very thoughtful. also suitable with PA situation, CV19, etc.
reused dress was a very good idea and it looked very nice on her.
they are like a breath of fresh air after H&M.

Alongcameacat · 19/07/2020 00:16

I doubt H&M would have been allowed a small wedding.
And you also forget that Beatrice has planned a big wedding until it had to be postponed. As lovely as it looked, this was not how she wanted it.

bluebell34567 · 19/07/2020 00:19

i think because this low key one received well by people maybe from now on it will be all low key.

Alongcameacat · 19/07/2020 00:22

Nah they will be low key because there are t any ‘big’ names that are anywhere near the age of getting married. George, Charlotte and Louis will be next and if the RF are still going strong, each one will be another fanfare.

Alsohuman · 19/07/2020 00:23

It may well be exactly how she wanted it. She might be hugely relieved that it was the quiet, intimate affair that wouldn’t have been possible before.

ArriettyJones · 19/07/2020 00:29

I doubt H&M would have been allowed a small wedding.

Given she was a divorcee, I’m sure the senior royals would have actively preferred it if H&M has gone for a quiet ceremony. It was said that HMQ was deeply unimpressed that M chose to wear bridal white, which is reminder how traditional values still hold strong.

I'd agree. They will be the next big royal weddings. Someone up thread speculated on Andrew and Sarah getting remarried. Before the whole Andrew thing blew up that's what I thought too. But I doubt it will happen now.

Did Prince Edward and Sophie have a big publoc TV do? I can't actually remember. But I doubt their kids will.

Thinking about it Charles and Camilla had a very small wedding too.

No I don’t think it was televised. I don’t think the ceremony was photographed either. There were pictures of them in a carriage leaving St Georges, Windsor. At least, that’s what i remember. It was 1998 or 99, though, so still quite soon after Diana’s death, and everything HB royal was still quite low key.

ArriettyJones · 19/07/2020 00:42

I don’t know where the “HB” game from! Grin

ArriettyJones · 19/07/2020 00:43

CAME from. Must be time for bed. Smile

TheNewLook · 19/07/2020 01:00

Yes Edward and Sophie’s wedding was definitely televised. I remember watching it. They had a short carriage ride afterwards too and the BBC played “Kiss Me” by Sixpence None The Richer over the closing credits - which was rather modern of them.

Random knowledge there, but some things just stick in your mind. I think I was studying for my finals....

ArriettyJones · 19/07/2020 01:09

Fair enough. My memory must be going. Smile

It was televised, I remember being disappointed she arrived in a car and not a carriage and the guests arrived by mini bus which I didn’t think was very regal! It was low key compared to Charles and Andrews weddings.
TheNewLook · 19/07/2020 01:14

They all do the minibus thing now at Royal weddings, don’t they? It seems to jar with the surroundings.

Littlepurpleflower · 19/07/2020 01:19

I think Ardent were the production company who filmed Edward ‘s wedding. Was the actual service broadcast? I can’t remember.

ZaraCarmichaelshighheels · 19/07/2020 01:23

Yes they do, I think it looks incongruous, they should all arrive in limos at the very least in my opinion! I think they do it to look more ‘normal’ but a big televised royal wedding is not normal, I want pomp and ceremony not celebs and royalty queuing to get on or off a bus!

ZaraCarmichaelshighheels · 19/07/2020 01:26

Yes it was, 200 million worldwide watched it apparently!
SleepingStandingUp · 19/07/2020 01:38

Hopefully this put paid to the rumours that PP is dead too.

She looks beyond happy
