I did that from memory

Better memory than me, sad git that I am, I had to go and check Grin
I thought so, but ....

ButteryPuffin · 20/06/2020 21:18

I'm fine with you reporting anything you have a concern about. Fill your boots! That was MN's advice and they seemed to prefer that to people arguing on thread about what's 'allowed'.

FromEden · 20/06/2020 21:19

I didn't know it might not be allowed sorry. Some stuff on there is a bit much but they have also been right about a lot of stuff. Anyway, I'm sure its been reported and will soon be removed.

Halo84 · 20/06/2020 21:22

If CD&N is removed, the People link should also be removed.

thisenglishlife · 20/06/2020 21:24
@thisenglishlife It’s not a patent, it’s a trademark application.
I said that originally The latest Cambridge US trademark has been refused.
But accidentally wrote down the wrong word (I think as I had just read Patent Office)

SunbathingDragon · 20/06/2020 21:27

I’ve never even heard of CD&N before but really don’t have any confidence that People print anything other than what they are asked to.

thisenglishlife · 20/06/2020 21:38

@Halo84

CD&N was started by an entertainment lawyer well over a decade ago. In those days it was very accurate. It was sold a number of years ago, and now is less accurate. However it does still post stories that are later proven true.

The People story would have come straight from HaM or their spokesman. It’s inaccurate as their trademark application was rejected.

On the original guy behind CDAN (Enty): He provided The Post with a scan of his bar card, and he is, in fact, a lawyer registered with the California Bar. According to public records, he is 43 and lives in Los Angeles.

He does work at an LA-based law firm but according to them, he’s not an entertainment lawyer — they don’t even have an entertainment division. Enty, it turns out, handles wills and probate.

Nearly everything Enty says, in fact, doesn’t check out. That package Tamblyn sent? That receipt, dated December 2007, came from an LA-based recording studio called Michael Turner Productions; sole employee Michael Turner says Tamblyn has never been through there: “What does she do?” he asks.

I'm guessing that anything CDAN had that was accurate was due to living in LA (and hearing things), rather than supposedly working with celebrities.

BalloonSlayer · 20/06/2020 21:57

@Ballet1992 and @Cathycomeshome brilliant posts.

People taking about lawyers' employment and parents are really scraping the barrel.

Samcro · 20/06/2020 22:25

Came on to place mark in case there was any news.
I see we have gone back to taking random stuff said by less than reliable sources as gospel.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 20/06/2020 22:25

Does anyone happen to know which lawyers handled the trademark application for Archewell, and by implication who was advising H&M?

I thought it was Cobblestone Lane, but learned that this is actually a company who'll own the trademark - so I'm still none the wiser as to who submitted it?

StartupRepair · 20/06/2020 22:27

I had forgotten how much I loathe the sentence 'before SussexRoyal came Arche'.

Halo84 · 20/06/2020 22:32

@thisenglishlife I have known Enty personally for decades. He is an entertainment lawyer. I suspect there was some collusion and subterfuge when his blog gained national attention. Don’t believe what was reported.

Enty started his blog mostly for entertainment. He didn’t expect it to garner the attention it did. That attention came when a Hollywood insider started reporting on sexual abuse in Hollywood. This was probably around 2011 or so (from memory). No one was named but descriptions were provided so if one knew Hollywood producers and directors, they could be identified with some accuracy. The insider also detailed rampant pedophilia, and said no parent should leave a child outside the parent’s line of sight.

One name Enty personally disclosed was Ghislaine Maxwell. He claimed she had books of girls available to powerful men. I remember it because the name is unusual. Everything he said about her has now proven accurate.

Once reporters started poking around to find Enty, he sold the blog quietly. No one knew, for the longest time, that it had been sold. I have never asked him so this is purely speculation on my part, but I personally believe when his main livelihood potentially was threatened, he decided the amusement he got from running the blog was outweighed by exposure.

calmcoolandcollected · 20/06/2020 22:36

@Samcro I see we have gone back to taking random stuff said by less than reliable sources as gospel.

Can you please advise who is taking "random stuff" as "gospel"? Just linking to a site doesn't mean people believe the contents linked to be true.

Roussette · 20/06/2020 22:39

Why link it then?

Halo84 · 20/06/2020 22:44

@Puzzledandpissedoff

This is the attorney of record.

www.venable.com/professionals/n/marjorie-w-norman

However, that doesn’t mean she filed the application. As HaM were foreign domiciled when they filed the application, they required a US licensed attorney.

calmcoolandcollected · 20/06/2020 22:45

Why link it then?

Why not?

Samcro · 20/06/2020 22:47

Surely if you link something it's because you believe it.

Roussette · 20/06/2020 22:50

Why would you link something you possibly believe to be untrue?

CallmeAngelina · 20/06/2020 22:52

I'm just astounded that anyone thought for one moment that H&M were ever coming back to the UK to live/work.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 20/06/2020 22:52

Thank you, Halo84 - you're obviously much better at finding these things than I am Smile

CallmeAngelina · 20/06/2020 22:53

And I've no idea of whether the speculation is true or not, but I would bet my mortgage that H&M stopping dealing with the Royal legal firm is the tip of a very 'juicy' iceberg.

calmcoolandcollected · 20/06/2020 22:54

The only links were to the People magazine blow job report. Are you, Samcro and Rousette, suggesting the official HaM report is untrue?

I used to participate in a forum where I often linked articles I didn't agree with, mostly for discussion purposes. IMHO, intellectually lazy people read only things they agree with.

FromEden · 20/06/2020 22:55

@Halo84 The 'real' enty is still around and posts occasionally IMO. You can tell by the writing style.

Viviennemary · 20/06/2020 22:56

I agree. I often might read something not necessarily about H& M and say to a friend did you hear such and such what do you think. It's called chat or discussion.
